      Yes, but a 350 mile tesla is still $14 to fill up at a super charger, while my 350 mile economy car is $68 now. So even with high electric prices, it's still way cheaper to driver electric. And with lightly used model 3'a at $20,000, they are becoming the new Prius.

From what I can see at the 101, 680, etc. People still drive the BIG Ford F150, V8 engines at over the speed limit, accelerate aggressively, single drivers in these big SUV or trucks, etc. The EV won't help with saving money because it cost more to buy EV, PGE raised electricity rates about 40% and PGE is asking for another increase. Remember these so called 'experts' more than likely did not go to college and probably just barely scraped by high school...
      The seasonality issue comes in when Kalifornia refnineries have to adjust their fuel blends for summer vs winter. This is because of Kalifornia emission standards that the CARB puts into place. So we have a 'special' blend of gasoline that is only sold in this state and is why the prices are so insane.
      In the summer months, the demand is high and the supply somewhat limited so the prices go up. Remember, this is only the special blend of fuel for Kalifornia. No other states have this stupid requirement! That's what these idiot public servants are forcing down our throats!

    just means you can't waste gas driving for no reason or just because you're bored bye bye joy rides and running to get fast food. An if you look at your electric bill and focus on what wattage you're using like how many watts your lights use. TVs can produce a lot of wattage almost 100 watts an hour or more especially the bigger the TV. Understanding a house's wattage usage will drastically cut your bill especially if It means not running stuff at certain times and cutting back on how long you leave your lights on. They do sell bulbs that run only 2.2 or 3.5 watts and just replacing a few bulbs will again drastically reduce wattage usage in return reduces bill. As I combat veteran you'd be surprised just how much unnecessary electronics are plugged in or drawing power when they're not even in use. I recently got into solar power stations and depending on where you live and power need u can use them to substitute power from the grid yes it's an investment but beats paying say 10 or 15k for a full solar system bought one for 700 an a solar panel an use it to charge my phone or even other devices and then when it runs low just put it outside hooked up to a single solar panel and it charges of the sun meaning I can go a week without ever having to plug my phone or a good amount of devices into a wall outlet. Life is about flexible not guarantees. Just makes no sense They wasted 30 billion on homeless and yet keep raising wages and taxes or allowing rate hikes. Sorry America I didn't fight for capitalism just the democracy you all voted for. don't like the way things are going vote out your leadership

    They're expensive because the market can bear it, sure there is some level of expense due to higher than "normal" taxes, and due to regulations in formulation, but all those rules apply everywhere in the state, yet the Bay Area is more... because people here have more income on average than the rest of the state and gas companies know they can gouge the sh*t out of us without worry because we need our precious gas to get to those high paying jobs that pay for it. It's simply as simple as that.

      You do realize california is forcing their own blend, has the highest gas tax in the country, and forces the cap and trade program. Not mention they forced several refineries to shutdown. This doesn't happen in other states. That's why their gas is $3.

    • @ronaldmcdonald3965
      @ronaldmcdonald3965 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@user-mu9tq1up8u Good point about the refinery shut down, which means lower supply and higher prices.
      Most people have no idea how lack of refinery capacity affects prices.
      But here is what we will do to ourselves:
      1. Activists target refineries AND deliver votes
      2. Politicians listen to Activists
      3. Politicians impose impossible to meet regulations, reporting, and response, and cap margins
      4. Refineries close
      5. But normal non-Activists people wonder why it costs so much
      6. Activists are Happy you're paying more. They want it all shut down
      7. Gasoline will be refined in India, and shipped to us in tankers
      8. We are merely moving the refining to a place with less stringent pollution controls.

    • @Mike__B
      @Mike__B 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-mu9tq1up8u Oh I realize that, which is why I mentioned it in my post. But you did see this story right? That gas prices are higher in the Bay Area than other parts of California, you can not say blends, and taxes, etc, are the reason for that because those other places IN CALIFORNIA also pay them. The reason they are higher in the Bay Area is because gas companies know people can and will pay more for gas, i.e. they are maximizing their profit margin because people can pay.

    The power to end this is in the people’s hands. If you want to stop the tax gouging at the pump you need to vote the democrats out! Elect people who will end the cap & trade carbon tax, and will get more refineries built. Every Republican or Independent running for office should make this their major campaign points. If you keep electing the same people they will continue to tax gouge you which affects everything you purchase. Vote for a change in November.
