Love your videos, lots of info! I subscribed. Need your inside info. My daughter and I want to go July 6 2022 to experience migration. Should we go to Masai Mara or Serengeti? Of same, which one is less crowded? And how many days?

Thank you so much for watching the videos. I am glad you found them helpful.
I would recommend Masai Mara but I may be a bit biased because I'm Kenyan. The main reason for recommending this is that Kenya has a really developed tourism infrastructure and some good lodges located near the Mara River, (where a lot for the migration action happens)
You may encounter crowding during that time.
The Serengeti is unlikely to be as crowded and the Mara though.

If the current environment persists, there may not be a lot of crowding when you come since many people are still avoiding travelling. So the Mara might be a good a option.

Kruger is said to have the greatest large animal diversity of any safari park in africa. But the mara and serengeti have larger populations of certain animals. And the terrain is more open so it is easier to see them.

I always enjoy your videos, you talk a lot of sense. I have been on a lot of safaris as I did live in Zambia for two years.
When talking about the best safaris I believe that you have missed out the best - The Okanavana Delta, Botswana.
This is my favourite both for the variety of animals and fantastic scenery.
Thanks once again for your videos.

For a first time safari would you recommend spending time in both Masai Mara and Serengeti? Thinking of doing three nights in each.

    • @EastAfricaTravelTips
      @EastAfricaTravelTips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The two parks are big and in two different countries. You may end up spending a lot of time travelling and clearing at the border. However, if your connecting the two parks by flying, this would be a good combination. But remember your costs go up as a result.
My recommendation, however, is that you choose one country to avoid a lot of hassles and unforeseen circumstances.

Hello from Canada! Love your videos. I find them very helpful, and full of great information. We will be in Nairobi next month, and I was wondering if you could let me know your opinion concerning some of the trips that we have organized. The two areas we selected were the Masai Mara, staying at Spekes camp for four days, then transiting to Amboseli and staying there for 3 days at the Elewana Tortelis camp. We were told each area is distinct to what type of wildlife to see. Prior to arriving at the camps, we decided to stay in Nairobi for a couple of days to acclimatize to the time change so not to be too tired. We organized a private driver to visit the city. We will be staying in Cairns, visiting the giraffe park, as well as the elephant orphanage. (We adopted one by the way, proud parents! Lol). We also opted to do a tour of the city with an organization called Nai Nami. We would appreciate your opinions on our choices, and if there is anything we should consider going forward. We hope this will not be our only trip, and look forward to visiting your beautiful country.

I am really glad that my videos have been helpful.
I can't comment much on the specific service providers since I have not used them but I would encourage you to do a search on the specific providers on trip advisor Kenyan forum. Its the closest to honest reviews you will find on service providers.
About the parks and staying in Nairobi, awesome choices. I have written some tips on tips on staying safe and what to wear in Nairobi that you may find useful on eastafricatraveltips.com
You might want to consider going to Maasai Market in Nairobi to get souvenirs at a good price. Make sure you negotiate on price because they will quote a higher price to you since you are a tourist.
I hope you have an unforgettable adventure. Karibu Kenya!

Superb informative videos!! Planning my trip to South Africa in the month of March next year. I know its too soon. But few doubts if u can help!
How about the month of March? Is there a problem of rain or winter ? Are wildlife safari recommended during march?
    Thanks in advance! 😁😁

Hi Harsh. I am not very familiar with the South African seasons so I would recommend that you do some research on when its a good time to visit. However, I have found that going even in the low season comes with its own adventure and may be great for you too.

Kruger is in a sad dilapidated state , once you are out of the fenced accommodation compound , it has been allowed to deteriorate, most of the mature trees that provide the upper canopy ecosystem have been destroyed by the Elephants , with no big trees the soil erosion from the rains has devastated the landscape.
It has become a very sad version of its former self , mainly due to bad management decisions.
