How to Use the MOULTRIE MOBILE EDGE TRAIL CAMERA

  • I was impressed with how well this cellular trail camera worked that I recently bought another one. I show and explain how to use this Moultrie Mobile Edge cellular trail camera in this video. I’ve field tested using two of these the year before and was impressed. I’m going to buy a couple more. The MOULTRIE MOBILE EDGE hunting trail camera takes 33 mp photos and HD video including sound. The Moultrie Mobile app you have to download allows you to choose any settings you want. This camera has species recognition, which lets you know if it was a deer, bear, turkey or a human walking by. The app allows you to create a map with pins showing where your stands, cameras, deer bedding, buck scrapes and other objects are in your hunting areas.

As long as you scanned the bar code sticker on the inside of the camera door and paid for a monthly or annual plan then your camera should connect. These cameras connect to the closest cell tower near you - NOT YOUR CELL PHONES DATA or YOUR HOME INTERNET! They only connect to any one of the four major cell phone companies towers.
It will take several minutes and sometimes up to an hour or more for the test photos to show up in your camera photo gallery. Also, if you click on DEVICES down in the bottom right of the app you should then click on the settings and go down through each setting for that individual camera and make sure you choose exactly what you want. Like for example: if you choose to have your photo gallery updated every six hours then you will not see any new photos until the six hours has gone by.

Oh, wow! Is my first thought. I own 6 so far and I haven’t had this issue. Is it often foggy in the mornings where you live? That will dampen the lenses. By chance is the camera facing the sun rise or sun set? Both those things will blur pictures. A lot of the time it’s just the environment that makes them blur. Just a quick adjustment to where the camera is placed can correct it. Heck I just cleaned bear slobber off of one. That made a few blurry pictures, lol. You are right in that products like these are mass produced through machines and people. Common knowledge tells us that both those things are prone to errors every now and then. I only choose vid/pic mode on all of mine. I have been wondering though if I am getting all the photos I should be getting. I know for a fact I have a couple in places that are deer highways and I keep thinking I’m not getting what I should for pictures. I’m so sorry you’re having troubles. I loved my first 3 so I never hesitated to buy 3 more. But I am interested in trying out the EDGE PRO the next time I decide to buy another cellular trail cam.

I’m guessing the deer stopped walking right after triggering the camera. You can request to have that picture be a video and you’ll see more of that deer. I bet another photo of that deer will appear in the photo library if it definitely stopped long enough for the camera to cycle back to picture taking mode. The MOULTRIE EDGE PRO camera has settings that allows you to choose trigger zones. So it means that a picture will not be taken until an animal walks in that zone.

I’ve called MOULTRIE themselves and have had them send me a new one for free even after the warranty and all they wanted was the old one sent back. The employees are great at helping answer any trouble shooting questions. If you continue to have trouble with that mode then I recommend calling MOULTRIE and if they see on their end that the camera is malfunctioning they will send you a new one.
