I've been following/watching your videos for a while now since becoming interested in kayak fishing, but I really like the area that you fish in because it so resembles the south coast of our island overgrown with mangrove from Asia. We value the "crevalle" here and call it "papio"and their bigger cousins the GT (or giant Trevalle/Ulua) for slide bait fishing and/or spin fishing. Makes me wanna finish my kayak project and get going soon! Aloha!
Nice work, that's how you make wine from grapes. I got great footage of a Barra take but the audio didn't work, lets see what sort of wine I can make. Love your work.
Marty ur litteraly tthe best!! i also do alot of kayak fishing. i got a field and stream eagle talon and its alot of fun. i wish i can catch the diff kinds of fish like you.. ur the best. ur videis make me feel like am on the trip with you its amazing i wanna make a fishing video soon
Another brilliant film thanks Marty. I really wish we had Jacks over here in the UK. We dont have anything which fights as hard, pound for pound or even inch for inch (length). What a day :)
It always seems like the weather wants to run u off when the fish are really hitting. Although I noticed you couldn't resist making a few more casts coming in the channel! That was a really nice Jack.
Great show, I was catching them as well the other day. I kept 2 of them, remembering your other show that you can eat them. So I'm gonna give it a try. keep the rod bent and congrats on the new YAK.
Thanks, man! I thought about making a homemade contraption to load the kayak (and I had some doosies for ideas) but riding on the highways with a DIY creation holding a few hundred pounds of beloved fishing machine, and the expense and time it would've taken to build, vs. the cheap, awesome bed extender was a no brainer.
Once again a great day for you! Minus the thunderstorm at the end. Isn't it great when you get those "holy crap" surprises when fishing? I had an extremely good day last week, except I didn't catch one of the targeted species (flounder) all stinking day! I did however get pulled up and down the inlet I was fishing by 5 overslot Redfish throughout the day. Anyway, great video. Thanks, and keep em coming!
Awesome video! The only jack I have ever caught was about that size and I was using light tackle as well it as definitely the best fight I have ever had.
👊🏼👊🏼. You won't stop me Rain 😄😅👍🏼. Good 1👍🏼 You look so happy just floating around! WooooooW look at the size of that catch. 👍🏼‼️ What a beautiful view 🌤⛅️🌤🌤🎣🚣 this crab or fish is taking you in 🙃🙂🙃🙂circles,,,wow looks big 🐳. 😄😄 holy crap he's huge nice very nice yellow tail. Now that was fun!!!!!! Another 1 bites the dust 😃😃 What a beautiful scenery looks like a painting well have yourself a nice evening I hope you make it to the truck before it starts raining take care🙋🏼🇨🇦
Fun to watch Marty. I'm in the process of heading down from Ohio for the winter. Hoping to capitalize on your supplied info and experiences. Thanks p.s. What was that yellow lure with the big red eyes I saw in some frames of your vid, it looked awesome. Put a black back on that and you have a dandy finger mullet to bring out reds and trout.
Caught 4 Jacks on a spoon yesterday and my first tarpon sadly no pics as he spit the hook right at the pier it was close to 3 feet very fun fight on the battle 6000. Love the vids.
My GPS says, 4 knots is about tops. But I can't maintain that speed. 3 is a doable cruising speed. I haven't tried paddling AND peddling yet, though...
SolarBaits Suprising that you know about Marty, btw im one of your subs. Marty, with Solar's vids, you can make al the super spooks you would ever need and paint them you very own color scheme
Isaac Brown i dont know if thats "that" surprising, after all like minded people seem to gravitate to same sort of interests and the fishing scene is not that big here in youtube. and besides marty makes great quality videos that are worth watching.
Lucky Lightz If I had to choose a 'go to' lure, I suppose it would be a dark purple, rubber worm rigged weedless on a big, weighted hook. Though, I can count on one hand how many bass I've caught in my life.
What #lb test line did you catch that big fish on? also you should revive a fish after wearing it out so badly rather than just throwing them in like a rock, especially when you keep it out of water so long.
Hey can you do a video on the spook jr? been using them a lot but can't seem to get the big one. Do you think they are best used during the summer or winter ? Or both? Thanks for the cool vids I enjoy watching them
Great outing man. By the way what type line you using fishing that Spook is it a braid only if so what weight or do you use a leader. If you you what type and weight. Live how easily you can stand in that Hobie. My Wilderness System Ride I can stand but not as easy as your Hobie.
Good thing that Jack was only 28". If. It was any bigger you maybe still out there try to bring it in. Are the smaller Jack better to eat ? I see you got a kayak carrier for your truck. Nice, does it make handling it easier? Thanks for sharing.
Hey! Love your videos. I am 14 and I want to get into kayak fishing. I've been fishing for pretty much my whole life, I have been looking at a few kayaks. I think I'm going for the emotion spitfire 8, is this good kayak??
I keep expecting to see you paddle (peddle I guess now) behind my house and I swear I'll come out and bring you a beer or three. Hope you stocked up on the SS Jrs when they were clearing them out at WM for $2 each. I know I dropped $20 that day, ha. Good stuff and looks like a fun jack fight!
zoffinger Yeah, I'm surprised I didn't run into you then, because I damn near emptied the three boxes they had stuffed looking for them. I had the employees looking at me like "you're going to clean that up, right?"
Another great video. It appears that the Hobie is much faster than the other yak. Is that true? I miss all the stuff on the other yak. Where did all you stuff go? It think Jacks are the hardest fighting fish pound for pound in the water. Darn shame they taste like crap.
I've been following/watching your videos for a while now since becoming interested in kayak fishing, but I really like the area that you fish in because it so resembles the south coast of our island overgrown with mangrove from Asia. Looks like you had a busy day! Nice catches, Marty. And awesome timelapse at the beginning of the video!
Cool! Checking out some of your older stuff. Nice day on the water.
I never saw a kayak with bike pedals on it. Are they any good?
Nice video. It looks like you are enjoying your new kayak! Keep the videos coming.
Always loved zoffingers content. Genuine! Fish on and God bless!!
I've been subscribed, now I hit that bell to not miss anything. Great meeting you at icast!!!!
Nice work, that's how you make wine from grapes.

Loving your videos man, keep up the good work!
It always seems like the weather wants to run u off when the fish are really hitting. Although I noticed you couldn't resist making a few more casts coming in the channel! That was a really nice Jack.
Just subscribed. What a straight up cool dude, your videos are calming, thanks.
Great show, I was catching them as well the other day. I kept 2 of them, remembering your other show that you can eat them. So I'm gonna give it a try. keep the rod bent and congrats on the new YAK.
Thanks, Michael! Hope you enjoy the Jacks.
zoffinger
Well they came out great, I dont think they were to gamey at all and got lots of meat on em. This for sure changed my mind on eating jacks.
How often do you go kayak fishing, and what is your favorite saltwater fish to catch?
Nice one my friend !!....love the yak loading arm on your truck too.
Glad you put the fish back in mate :)
I can't believe how stable your boat is,,,, that is crazy stability bro,,,
I was wondering how you were loading up the yak theses days. Thanks for another awesome video! Tight Lines my friend!
Do you listen to the Capt Mike Anderson show on Saturday mornings on 620 WDAE from 6:00 am to 8:00 am?
What model of kayak is that you can move with your feet?
Once again a great day for you! Minus the thunderstorm at the end. Isn't it great when you get those "holy crap" surprises when fishing? I had an extremely good day last week, except I didn't catch one of the targeted species (flounder) all stinking day! I need to find a good flounder spot. They're my favorite fish to chew on!
***** Thanks for the tip about the fishy finder :)
Awesome video! The only jack I have ever caught was about that size and I was using light tackle as well it as definitely the best fight I have ever had.
I enjoyed the "ahhhhhh" sound clip when you lost your spook haha
Ever fish around Boca Grande? One of my favorite spots for shore fishing.
👊🏼👊🏼. You won't stop me Rain 😄😅👍🏼. Good 1👍🏼

Zoffinger what kind of kayak is that?
***** 2014 Hobie Pro Angler 12
How fast can you get going in that hobie?
My GPS says, 4 knots is about tops. But I can't maintain that speed. 3 is a doable cruising speed. I haven't tried paddling AND peddling yet, though...
Big Jacks are amazing. They just don't quit.
those jacks really do fight hard, would be sometimes cool to try catch some with a fly rod.
I brought one with me Saturday and the wind and current made it very difficult. I was afraid I was going to hook myself!
SolarBaits Suprising that you know about Marty, btw im one of your subs. Marty, with Solar's vids, you can make al the super spooks you would ever need and paint them you very own color scheme

You know you can catch these big jacks at the bridge you catch sheepshead at?
that was a nice fishing trip... awesome fish too... :)
Hey Marty! Where's this launch point?
what do use to catch bass?
Lucky Lightz If I had to choose a 'go to' lure, I suppose it would be a dark purple, rubber worm rigged weedless on a big, weighted hook. Though, I can count on one hand how many bass I've caught in my life.
That bone colored zara super spook jr. Is a great large mouth bass lure in the mornings all summer long
What #lb test line did you catch that big fish on? also you should revive a fish after wearing it out so badly rather than just throwing them in like a rock, especially when you keep it out of water so long.
he did revive it he through the fish head first so the water went through its gills. it's a jack so it doesn't take much to revive them
Love your vids tho still one of the best fisherman on TH-cam
Hey can you do a video on the spook jr? been using them a lot but can't seem to get the big one. Do you think they are best used during the summer or winter ? Or both? Thanks for the cool vids I enjoy watching them
Where are you

Typical setup I use is #15 braid with a #20 leader
Is leader mono or fluoro
Wesley Hackney fluro

You should try smoke jack it one of the best tasting fish if done right
Love it when it's calm after the rain!
Good thing that Jack was only 28". If. It was any bigger you maybe still out there try to bring it in. Are the smaller Jack better to eat ? I see you got a kayak carrier for your truck. Nice, does it make handling it easier? Thanks for sharing.
They're gamey fish. The small ones are definitely better tasting.
zoffinger
I've always been told that they're not good eating. Some describe the flavor as "beefy."
Hey! Love your videos. I am 14 and I want to get into kayak fishing. I've been fishing for pretty much my whole life, I have been looking at a few kayaks. I think I'm going for the emotion spitfire 8, is this good kayak??
I loved mine! What am I saying? I STILL love that kayak! It's a great starter kayak for sure :)
Nice power casting!
I sifted through the boxes every time they got put out for 2 bucks! I wound up with about 30 of them!
zoffinger Yeah, I'm surprised I didn't run into you then, because I damn near emptied the three boxes they had stuffed looking for them. I had the employees looking at me like "you're going to clean that up, right?"
Scott Taylor LoL!
Another great video. It appears that the Hobie is much faster than the other yak. Is that true?
I miss all the stuff on the other yak. Where did all you stuff go?
It think Jacks are the hardest fighting fish pound for pound in the water. Darn shame they taste like crap.
Why you don't never use a leader... your line would never pop
I caught a 3ft snook off sharkys pier yesterday
I remember catching two fish with one hook.
the one was stuck on the other fish
One big fish powered kayak!
Yeah I didn't enjoy that storm that rolled through. My house shook every time the lightning hit. I couldn't do any fishing :(
That wasn't a mountain back there…that was a dredge pile! Yaw ain't got no mountains over there on the Sooouth East coast.
I think he was somewhere in the north eastern arm of Tampa bay near just North of Sunken Island and Bird Island. But I could be wrong.
Great vid !
Those catfish make really good shark baits
Your new best video!
marty are you doing the reel men fish pink line challenge from Eposeidon cause I am and I challenge you!!! great vid btw
