Simply jam a pair of nickels, stacked beneath (below, along the bottom side) the wider of two harness jack receptacles, in back of the instrument cluster. That's the one closer to the passenger side, near the fuel/engine temp gauge. They act like a tight shim which presses the contacts firmly onto the circuit board, without any need to take it apart or solder components.

Why not just fix it the correct way?

@@RobertDotterer - Ten cents, ten seconds, same result.

It's not really the same results because you will never know if the connection is really good or if you have voltage drop and then you can cause more problems.

@@RobertDotterer He did fix it properly. This has been a know problem in the Element for years. And his solution is a well know fix it. It has to do with the ports having issues not have a snug connection. Very safe and popular fix it in the Element community.

@@RobertDotterer a wedge of tape worked for a few months for me. Thanks for showing me how to disassemble the cluster. I can see cracked soldering on two connectors.

I just tried the wedge it in position part, but no good. Might have to go this route...

A proper fix is always better than a hack.
