As someone who is half South African but grew up in England and never experienced African culture i love this . This makes me proud to be African
Back in 1992 on a month long visit to Zambia, I sat on a veranda overlooking Victoria Falls (on the Zimbabwe side) and enjoyed a Marimba Band playing. This album sure does take me back to that time in my life. Wonderful memories of Africa.
I lived in Zimbabwe two months then headed to Tanzania for seven months. I love this music. I miss Africa.

Marimba, kalimba, and drums! A great combination!
I spent a month in Zambia back in 1992 and the Miramba is what they played while visiting Victoria Falls. This music brings back all of those fond memories.

So soothing. Muziki murua, unapenya moyoni na kutuliza roho. Afrika, chimbuko la ubinadamu. Kenya
Absolutely stunning. I went to South Africa a wile back and found the people there wonderful, Black and White equally wonderful. I met Zulu people and went to many gathering where music was played and it was a mix of Black and white which warmed my heart considering all the problems there in the past and even now. Music they say is love, peace, unity....lets unite a persons race religion or color doesnt difine them its their actions and actions alone. An eye for an eye people soon leaves the world totally blind. god bless y'all

All these beautiful music here make me feel as if i were roaming around in the big , wonderful , beautiful and fascinating grass land of Africa. The place where the wild life are charming and magnificent. And i love it very, very much.
While this doesn't completely reflect what traditional African music sounds like, I still love it. This is the music I want to hear when I'm relaxing in a hammock somewhere in my mind, be it Africa, or Australia, or with my toes in the sand at the shore somewhere. I bought your album yesterday on iTunes and I don't regret it!

As an African American I feel honored to be listening to a portion of my ancestor’s music. It puts me at true peace and reminds me where I come from, so thanks!
This sounds like what hollywood thinks african music sounds like.
Exactly.
conor henderson Richard Bona, Miriam Makeba, Papa Wemba, Manu Dibongo, Koffi Olomidé, Oumou Sankaré, Henri Dikongué Cesaria Evora are some of the greatest african musicians and more recents artists like Charlotte Dipanda, Psquare, Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Chidinma, Davido...So go check it out, my dear in order to not take some shitty sound lion king's disney vibe for african music again. (although I've no hate for this video or the lion king)
I'm sure you know hollywood quite well.
I know, I can hardly form a sentence on grass.
conor henderson buddy, I don't much about African music because it isn't the music I grew up with. So I don't comment on what is stereotypical Hollywood ideas about African music is because I don't know. I don't get why people like me should have a say in matters we no nothing about. People like me should step back and listen. if you're like me then Just listen to people who know about African music especially when they are giving you suggestions on what to check out.... instead of getting all defensive.
The music brings a sense of longing and reunion feelings of a native village where all things worked out fine in the end. Loved it...!

Getting ready for my safari trip, figured I will listen to the cultural music… I’m even more pumped to explore Africa now!
Good music! Best of all no Ads! So we can enjoy it with no interruptions
Marimba is a great instrument.. helps motivate make a summer tropical house track.
Love all the butthurt people saying this doesn't represent Africa, so they put modern african artists in here.
People, this is African "classical" music, since classical music as we know it, it's European, this is the equivalent for Africa, this is their music, beautiful and different. Africa is a big continent, full of different cultures, but one thing they share is the color Africa has, this music makes me thing COLOR, LIFE, SUNSHINE AND HAPPINESS.
European classical music has a melancholic tone, due to depression, and rain, and suicide and illness, which were popping on those times.
Every music is different, let's just enjoy this very traditional African music, why deny this is African? This is unique and exclusive to Africa, enjoy it.
I think they did a good job of capturing the feel of the African safari, but honestly, traditional African music sounds more like this:
