We couldn't live without our Mighty Wonder or it's brother the Little Wonder. They make our lives WAY more easy. We also use our laser cutter to test designs created in Illustrator before sending them off to be made into clicker dies. Best of all worlds.
Would love to see Chuck give us a side by side comparison of the 4 and 8 ton clickers, using different size dies and leather weights. Planning on getting one of these, but undecided on which to purchase.
I want a clicker press. Seeing how the dies cost so much, you should make a video on care, maintenance, and storage of the die cutters. Maybe even on organization tips since I assume a die collection can get pretty big for people in business.
I love this machine, but I can help but wonder: given that it can only cut pieces of a limited size, how many low price small items would I have to sell just to cover the cost of the machine and each die.
Don’t think of it as low price items. You can cut precise components from cordovan leather for wallets that sell for 300 to 400 dollars! Small component pieces for bags that take up time can be easily cut with this as well.
Thanks for another great video Chuck. I'd love to see a "part 2" though where you talk about how to have the dies made. I'm not as worried about laying out the cash for the clicker as I am about what it entails to have the dies made. How do I order a die? How much do they cost? What if I need to modify/update/correct a die later on? Do I need any special skills or equipment to create a die?
Hi there! To create a die we just need either a drawing on paper with the exact size dimensions listed or you can go as far as creating a cad drawing for us. The price depends on the complexity of the die but we will get you a price quote before we actually make it. Once the design and price are finalized it usually takes our die shop 6 business days to create it and send it out. If you click the link below it will show you the contact information to send any inquiries to, Reagan will be happy to help you with any questions you may have! www.weaverleathersupply.com/custom-clicker-dies
Chuck could you maybe do a video on making a simple leather quiver. All the videos I see on youtube on leather quivers are either very decorative or people use very interesting methods to create one. Would like to see you try one.
How does this work with softer leather? I use mostly 2.5-3 oz deerskin. I had dies made years ago and have always used a clicker service. Would love to click in house. Thanks!
You can either add a wood board underneath the cutting pad to bring it up high enough or purchase an additional cutting pad and use one on top of the other.
I would like one of these very much, but as a small business It is completely out of my prices range. Unless you guys do lay -a-way or have a payment program.
I specialize in small accessories and hand bags too. Do you design dies that also punch hole too? Specifically for my wallets and handbags. Thanks, great tutorials. Keep up the good work.
Hi there, Yes, we do custom clicker dies and we can put the punching holes right in the die for you! If you would like a quote you can email your drawing to Reaganm@weaverleather.com
Hi there, If you get the linear inch of the pattern you are looking at and multiply that x 400 it will give you the amount of pressure needed to click out the die. Holsters vary in size a lot so I can't say for sure. As an example, if you have a die that is 10 linear inches, it would take approximately 2 tons of pressure. Hope that helps!
Thanks Chuck!!! Great explanation.. Is this available to cut the fabric with die shape which I want? I want to make brooches to sell it as my side job.
Hi there! It will cut through some fabric, but we would recommend testing it first. We would be happy to test it out for you if you want to send us a small sample of the fabric you will be using.
Hello, Yes, it can click 10 oz. leather with this kind of die. As long as it fits within the cutting area of the clicker. We also have a larger 8 ton for large die cuts.

This machine is sweet for sure but in my opinion it's significantly over priced considering the amount of material used and simple construction. If it was marked down 75% this struggling leather crafter could maybe make it happen and purchase one. Any raffles on one?
Look around even the cheap Chinese hand presses go for $8-900 and those are usually fixed head. For a four ton swing head made in the US $1500 is a very reasonable price for a such specialized tool.

Curious if you have made moccasins
Chuck what do you use to soften leather? Best regards, Richard
I have a leather stamp that is made for making a 2.5" impression. It's only 1/4" high, what do I need to do to is to make it usable with this machine?
You can either add a wood board underneath the cutting pad to bring it up high enough or purchase an additional cutting pad and use one on top of the other.
How thick leather? Saddle leather small parts? Conchos, horn wraps, etc?
The 4 ton clicker can go up about 10 oz. comfortably. You can certainly go heavier but it's going to take a little more effort.
