Deb Demure’s powerful presence and hypnotic sound has firmly defined the identity of Drab Majesty. After releasing the debut album, Careless, Drab Majesty split time between touring and studios, piecing together the ideas for the follow-up album, "The Demonstration", an album depicting Deb Demure as only one part of Drab Majesty's overall being and storytelling saga.
Starting off with the instrumental "Induction", Drab Majesty sets up an ethereal backdrop for which the rest of the album follows. Tracks such as “Dot In The Sky” and “39 By Design” (a song pointing to the doomsday Heaven's Gate cult) use lush, shoegaze approach to portray the fragility of humanity's loss of self, looking only to the heavens for answers. "Cold Souls" flawlessly executes Drab Majesty's arpeggiated finger picking signature, complete with washes of hazy noise and atmospheric reverb. With the addition of Mona D. to Drab Majesty's mysterious portfolio, songs from The Demonstration perpetually create new meanings and depth with every listen. After Drab Majesty wraps up The Demonstration with "Behind The Wall", one is left wondering what kind of identity is truly their own.
Produced by Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv.

a waterfall of tears inside my heart when i listened to this...luv from east Afrika
This is my favourite track on the album. I don't even count how many times I was repeating it on spotify. Nostalgic, old 80's forever.
Hard to pick between this and Cold Souls
@@thestroomis5076 agree
Amazing music. I cannot stop listening to this record.
One of the most beautiful songs this masterpiece of an album has to offer. Currently learning the lead guitar for it. It is as beautiful as they are. I love Deb to space and back!
I have redefined the word "fantastic"
One of the best tracks they've ever made. ⚜
Drab Majesty is a Always Amazing Band!!!
🖤✨🎶🌪️☔🎹🌊🌀⛈️🎵🌫️🌬️
One of my favorite drab songs
don't know why but 4:17 is hitting the right spot...
This is one of my favourites by this amazing band!!!
Blows my mind always ... best band I discovered in years 😎
thanks for discovering him, we would be lost without you.
Agree with your words 👍
Yet again creating something beautiful (along with "39 By Design") out of the horror of the 38 (plus 1) who lost their lives to Heaven's Gate.
Remember how the cult leader got his followers to change their names once within the cult. Called them something they weren't; it's never just names.
Hard to imagine a more beautiful love letter to those people, who probably were just trying to find a way to deal with the strangeness of it all...
-and put their trust in the messianic hubris of a man who was already lost.
Didn't catch the heaven's gate reference in this one. Thanks
@@c4p4c1t1v3 yeh the whole album is about Heavens Gate
We all hoped to be finding the light
We were alone on the Earth, searching for someone alike
Your words made sense with the truth you possessed
Believing the call of our kind would be fine if we were divinely blessed
You said we would be recycled
Took a hold of our souls just make us the same
Called me something I wasn't it's not just a name
Take your time taking minds just to stay in the game
Made me someone I wasn't it's not just a name
We couldn't love but you paired us together to walk hand in hand
The irony
We couldn't make this world ours because it wasn't a part of the plan
You said we would be recycled
You said i would be recycled
Took a hold of our souls just make us the same
Called me something I wasn't it's not just a name
Take your time taking minds just to stay in the game
Made me someone I wasn't it's not just a name
Why do we do, like you?
Why do we do?
Made me someone I wasn't it's not just a name
You called me something I wasn't it's not just a name
You made me someone I wasn't it's not just a name
You called me something I wasn't it's not just a name
Thank you for this....google's results on the lyrics aren't quite as accurate as this. Now one can sing along :D
Heart wrenching words. Thanks for uploading
Great lyrics... I've read elsewhere this line: Believing the call of our kind would be fine if we were divinely blessed" is actually "Believing the -Cull- of our kind . . ." meaning killing/culling was the lyric... Either way it's poignant but I find it more bittersweet or cult-programmed if this is what is expressed. Thanks for sharing.
4:19 - 6:05 is purely eargasmic. 🙀
this transition is amazing!
Yeaaah
Had my headphones on max and the drop ....oh my. My jaw dropped.
Pure perfection! Thank you!
Why does good music always find me ...
My heart and soul within a name
A dream within a dream to daydream
What the 80's should have been.
Plenty of amazing bands from the actual 80's.
It hits me like a great This Mortal Coil song.

Truly amazing song ! It's so great to listen with this song to start the week... I so love the intro... My Boss loves thing song... In fact, I have gotten to learn this through Him. ♥️
Fucking beauty of a song.
Thanx audio tree 🎧🌳
Sounds better every day 🖤✨
Obsessed
Great song about Marshall apple white and betty
The whole vibe Reminds me of PRINCE 💔💜💜💜💜💜
Prince wanted to sign Cocteau Twins to his label way back in the day. This is probably indicative of what would’ve happened if they had actually collaborated
The title reminds me of the woman I love.
4.17......
this album made me jump off a very high bridge lol because of the same glass windows
depeche mode been real quiet since this one…
Brasill
Da pra ver pelo sotaque
It was OUR pathetic earthly existence that made them search for something better.
I hope they are in a better place after all. They deserve to be in utopia for realizing the ravishes of our existence.
Wish you the best...............
Sounds something like Tears for Fears.
And a little touch of Prince huh ? 💜💔💔💔
