I remember watching this live 25 years ago. I'm not sure id my favorite part is his little dance when he comes out, or his line in the speech about "just find some hood stories "
Saw In the Heat of the Night months ago. Terrific movie dealing with race and class. Not the number one fan of Moonstruck, but I think his other work was fantastic.
Congratulations on the Irving Award! Watching this video it appears that the artistically designed statue may have caused some tech induced injury to Norman Jewison by the way his head moved and hands may have become too hot! Great seeing how Mr Jewison holds the shiny part of the statue towards the reflective lights! How disrespectful to seniors! Is this elder abuse? Good idea to let Nicolas Cage hold the statue and just leave it at the Canadian Film Centre!
Whoever was in charge of the technology to assist the way Norman Jewison's head moved should include instead aided technically with him moving to the side from his waist up / upper body not just have his neck move so rapidly to one side!
RIP Norman Jewison (July 21, 1926 - January 20, 2024), aged 97
You will be remembered as a legend.
What a great filmmaker who focused on many social issues and race relations.
One of the great, underrated filmmakers. Very funny and classy from his entrance to his last word. Well-deserved.

One of my favorite filmmakers.
Only a Canadian can make an entrance like that.
I love the man and most of his films.. Never forget my feelings when I saw.. And Justice for all ..
A immensely talented man and a true professional. For me, it's Moonstruck which stands as his finest achievement. Enjoy your rest Mr Jewison
4:43 Can someone show this part to the 2019 Oscar voters.
I have just seen Justice for All with Al Pacino. It is indeed a good story.
"just find some good stories!"

Nicolas Cage should have received an Oscar nomination for Best live show statue presenter!
Why is there not any free Hospitality Meals served in the Caledon Hills community where Norman Jewison and many associated people live and visit?

No money attached just like the governor general award but it makes a great coffee coaster
Is Norman Jewison the Chancellor of Victoria College?
Is Norman really 96 years old or does he just pretend to be 96 as an actor?
