I am particularly pleased with how this camera handles colour -- fantastic results all over (even with the 'smaller' fixed-lens version I'm using). Simply match it against DSLR footage, and the JVC GY-LS300's results will stand out by a mile!

I've been watching and rewatching your review on this camera I'm tired of fussing with DSLR (I shoot local news for a living and shoot DSLR on side projects) I need a real camera with "cinema style" footage and looks like this JVC won't break the bank! Great job with these videos I will reply next week on my thoughts!

Thanks for the review, very informative. Considering purchasing this camera. Was the footage shown in this video shot in JLog and then color graded in post? Also have you used this camera with any gimbals? What sort of gimbals would be suitable for this type of video camera for stable footage. Eg could you use a Ronin with this camera? I noticed you using Lumix MFT lenses. Does the Len's inbuilt Image Stabilisation work properly? Thanks.

I find it really interesting how you managed to completely remove the cinematic look that this camera usually gives out. hahahahahah'

How's the autofocus with Micro Four Thirds lenses? Does it matter in the real world that it doesn't have 10-bit color?

I dont know about the camera but i like the microphone much. What type of microphone is? It has some nice wool cover so wind doesnt afect the recorded sound.

wow, looks great, how is the hm200 holding up after a year?

I used to own it. It's a solid camera for personal use, small corporate videos, soap operas, and documentaries, but the 2/3" sensor doesn't really provide enough depth of field to hold up against super 35 or aps-c cameras for more cinematic shoots. I expect the price of one to drop way down in a few years, right now you can even pick up a used FS100 or AF-101 for less. I traded in my HM200 for a used F3-L and never looked back.

simply enter ['upgrade jvc gy-ls 300"] as a search term (even on TH-cam directly), and the top results will have a satisfactory answer already! Also watch th-cam.com/video/Kzmq0AN26Rw/w-d-xo.html to check the JVC line cameras' fantastic colour results against more average ones of a common DSLR (admittedly not great in comparison)...
