HI Emile, I use a 8 Ft casting rod with a Lews Super Duty reel, And on Spinning a 8ft sensation power plus with a 4000 size reel spooled with 50lb Grinder braid
Where do you usually look for barbel? Like do you tsget grassy areas or rocks? Deep or shallow? I've yet to catch a barbel on a lure and I need all the help I can get
Hi Bilal, I would start shallow look for carp tailing , Catfish like to hunt carp in the shallows, rocky areas are also great because of the heat the get off the rocks.

I like good ol big catfish like twenty pounds what is the damage like
We have caught them up to 56lbs using the popping method here in South Africa
