    Hello Everyone, this is an update on a video we did 4 years ago. CyberKnife is mentioned in other videos but we had many people ask for a standalone update.
    You can view our previous videos here: www.youtube.com/@ThePCRI/search?query=cyberknife

    Thanks again to you both. Good to know there are special doctors like yourselves that really care. Your information about prostate cancer is invaluable. Thank you both.

    Invest in your best future and travel, if necessary, to the best center for the treatment you select. A shout out for the American Cancer Association for sponsoring Hope Houses in so many locations. My wife and I stayed in one while I completed SBRT. It was a wonderful community of other cancer patients and a great support for us.

    A timely re-post. TY. PSMA-PET is coming soon. So, treatment path discussion shortly after. Many thanks for all these videos.

    Although I didn't learn anything new, this was an excellent video on what to expect from treatment with radiation.

    I did my research, didn’t settle for first and second opinions. I changed Medicare plans, so I could consult with Moffitt at USF in Tampa, FL. Between them and PCRI recommending SBRT as my best option, I was able to make a very well informed decision! I’m 6 weeks out today from finishing my treatment, and feeling completely back to myself! Only missed 1 week of band practice, church and exercise! I had some secret weapons to fight the side effects I experienced, and feel I recovered VERY quickly! Best part, the bloody thing still works, couldn’t be happier! I realize this video is dated, but SBRT is in my opinion, the only choice today!

      @@theobauer4845 I’ll be 67 in about a week, and was just into Gleason 7. There was 1 out of 5 positive tissue samples that was 4+3 the rest were all 3+3, all from 6 samples on the right side. No sign of tumors on digital or MRI, it was a very early diagnosis fortunately for me!

      Try not to worry. It is straight forward procedure. Be the doctor starts, they will ask you if you have any questions. If you do ask. They will explain the procedure and again ask you if you understand what’s going to take place. You will then prepare yourself for the procedure. Just relax and the doctor will be explaining what’s going on. I’ve gone through the biopsy and I have had surgery to have my prostate removed because it was cancerous. I’m recovering now after six weeks out from my surgery. Hang in there and I wish you the best!

    Introduction is so right. Lots of marketing going on especially with the Focal treatments. Very sad. Rather than being really concerned with outcomes those marketing their method are profit driven. Thanks for your unbiased and honest information! When you have the time and information please do a segment on IRE aka NANO Knife unless you already have.

    • @kamalsh6123
      @kamalsh6123 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A good bit of research is required. Look around for Google reviews/ other reviews about local doctors who have experience in Cyberknife even if he happens to be a little away from your location. As Dr. Scholz says, experience is of prime importance. I got my done from a highly experienced Cyberknife expert with more than a decade of experience (who had remarkable results even with brain tumors). Everything went smoothly for me with no side effects (except for tinge of blood in urine for a week) and my PSA dropped from over 50 to 1.5 within a few months and is holding steady with nothing visible in PSMA PET CT and MRI done every 3 months. It is now more than a year and am happy with my decision.

    Just curious on how long it usually takes to get scheduled for fiducials and spaceOAR? I’ve been waiting over a month and still haven’t received an appointment for this procedure. I’m in a fairly large city with multiple medical centers.

      I think Spaceoar is for people who have to be radiated on the posterior part of the prostate. I had it on the anterior part and when I asked the doctor specifically he said it was not needed in my case as the radiation was excluded from that area.

    Just received biopsy results 3+4=7. Having watched a lot of these kinds of videos, figuring out the path forward is overwhelming.
    Previously I’ve dealt with BPH urinary symptoms and had a Urolift procedure. I’ve now learned that the Urolift implants completely eliminate the value of a prostate MRI-the implants block the view of the prostate in the MRI image! Extremely frustrating, now that I understand the value of MRIs in this process. Of course the Urolift surgeon never mentioned that issue. I moved on from him for a number of reasons.
    My current Urologist tells me radiation wouldn’t be a good solution for me due to my urinary issues. Can anyone confirm this? It seems like all the doctors are biased in favor of their own specialties (in this case surgery). Does anyone know how you can get an unbiased assessment?

    • @kamalsh6123
      @kamalsh6123 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He may be a medical oncologist but if you look at his background and his passion for the cause he comes out as a Prostate cancer specialist with the efficacy and safety of the patient as his prime motive. I decided to go for my Cyberknife treatment only after watching all his videos on pros and cons of various treatment options. And I don't regret my decision.

      @@ThePCRI Thank you! In France, they want to have 10 years of perspective (and not 5) on late toxicities such as radiation proctitis for stereotaxy, the cyberknife, and only use it for those over 70, at least in the main public medical centers. 3 private centers have already switched to use it - without taking into account the guarantee limits beyond 5 or 6 years of randomized trials on late toxicities. For the spacer gel, it's the same thing. It is still undergoing “Sabre” testing. A pity!
      But we're not going to tempt the devil by asking to be treated by people who don't have the learning curve of 30 patients with spaceoar. So it is low-dose brachytherapy without gel for favorable intermediate localized cancers which is recommended in our country.
