I try to catch all of the Eastwood live videos but I'm at work so I still try to watch them they're informative I just wish I had access to all the Eastwood tooling
I am new to rod building and have an S10 square body I am going to be building. Thank you for your videos, they are awesome for new builders. What is the device with the pins that he used to get the door contour?
Hi Curtis, when I do a repair like this with a mix of new and old metal I usually start on the new metal first and as I a puddle forms I put a dab of filler rod into the center of the joint and move the puddle to the center of the seam so that I get an even fuse of the two pieces. I tend to start on the new metal because it is often times a little thicker (we're talking thousandths difference) and cleaner metal. That's just my technique, everyone is different! -Matt/EW

I use a copper chill plate behind the weld area to minimize distortion.
Are you talking about a copper backing plate?
I remember this type of customizing work from the 50's.
I love these types of videos!!! Keep them coming.
