For all of you guys interested in getting back into Dragon Ball FighterZ and are still kinda on the fence. February 26 is when season 3 starts and Kefla releases on the 28th but on February 26 is when this game changes. Now is a great time to get into it. Plus new modes and features will be added, it'll practically be a new game!
Tips that might help Afro and any other players too!!! General game shit: learn frame data basically learn what’s safe and unsafe of block so you know when to mash out most strings if not covered with an assist it is super unsafe you can learn more about what’s not safe or punishable by labbing or just playing , also if your hitting them on block you want to make sure your calling your assist at the right time the safest time to do it is after a standing H in your string this locks your opponent down with the assist and allows you to go with a mix of high , low , or dragon rush (DR) . Another critical thing that can get you openings and maybe even win you games is using your dragon rush it’s really underused at lower levels but it’s very helpful it stresses out your opponent by having worried of another offensive option and can lead to a kill or switch of another character and even a combo ender which can lead to supers also fun fact that the tutorial doesn’t tell you is that if you mash buttons during dragon rush it does a little more damage so make sure you mash it out .Never AUTO COMBO ON BLOCK an auto combo is the auto pilot combo the game does for you when you mash square or triangle it’s highly unsafe on block and it can be punished everytime by any character ,with talking about auto combos the thing you want to learn the fastest is the universal manual nearly every character has this combo in someway shape of form this is the easiest combo to execute for great damage anywhere or screen it’s a MUST LEARN!! (Down M , Standing M, Jump L , Air M , Down H, Superdash , Air L and you can spam L from there) you can optimize with character specific routes and even add supers at the end of this combo easily landing 5k+ combos like a boss . You definitely also want to learn how to reflect(Back S) it’s very underused in low ranks but it can help with spammers or overwhelming rush down fighters , nearly everytime you see an assist come out you can reflect it , reflect is also very good on wake up because it can take away your opponents turn . But be careful reflect is very quick on start up and ends very fast so if your opponent see’s it coming and reads it they can definitely punish it and get a full combo. You also want to learn how to z change during supers , you can do more the one super at a time! All you have to do is while your first character is doing the super animation simply press or mash the assist button for which character you what to super next , this means you can do lvl 1 , lvl 1, lvl 3 in continuous succession which gives a lot of damage if you have the meter of course but remember you cannot do s lvl 3 into a lvl one it unfortunately doesn’t work like that :( . I think that’s all I got for tips and tricks fighterz has it fair share of bullshit , but it’s a great game and is very easy execution wise for combos and even tod’s (Touch of deaths) with some characters also a lot of changes and new characters are coming to the game on the 26th so if you want to pick it up nows the time ! Big thing to remember is as you knock someone down and they are sliding along the ground, you can hit them with level 3s or 1s. Trying to do that more often helps with combo links alot

As of right now i play android 18 on point (again bc of lotus) then ssgss gogeta in the middle and broly dbs as much anchor since he’s my best character and i’m glad to see my favorite youtuber plays him as well. i love u leon 🤝
Tips? Hold back and press A or X to reflect. The reflect is equivalent to advancing gaurd in MVC. U can reflect ANYTHING. EVEN THE Z DASH SPAMMERS. Down B or circle is an anti air stops z dash. Forward and Triangle or Y is an overhead for alot of characters.
Afro this is the Terminology 7 8 9 4 5 6 1 2 3 Each number is an direction on the joystick/D-pad. 2 Being down and 6 being forward ect Light= 🔲/X Medium= 🔺️/Y Heavy= ⭕/B Special= X/A DR= Dragon Rush So 2H is Down ⭕/B 6M is Forward 🔺️/Y I Hope this can help a little bit!
I know that you get frustrated with this game because you are not at the level that you would like to be, but it is great to see this. I would say the basics is the best way to start. things like switching teammates to manage health, reading the super dash so you can punish it and combo extensions
this game is my favorite fighting game as of right now. If you are having trouble controlling your spammy super dash, i would recommend fighting on casual and acting as if your super dash button doesn't exist outside of combo extensions. You just need to fight everyone as if super dashing will be countered every time you use it without covering with an assist even if you know your opponent wont. That way you never fuck around with it and get shwacked against the opponents that will.

Small tip is to do supers after you end your combo. Not always, I only do supers if they have maybe 1/4 health left sometimes more depending on my meter amount And to dhc (idk what it means but it's a marvel term from what I know) just tap the assist button while doing a super. To do a level 3 out of another super hold the stick away from the opposing character and press an assist depending on which characters lvl3 you want to use
As you’re keeping pressure with Broly if there’s a pause in your hit string use Gohan assist to keep your opponent from jumping out or if they do you can capitalize and combo Don’t immediately call your assist at the beginning of the match having 2 available after your opponent just used theirs is an good advantageous situation You may want to experiment with your team order. If your Broly is your best character you should try switching him to the middle spot and put Gohan in front. You have a good team Invest in Gohan! Practice your assist timing to keep your defense sound and offense safe. Play at your own pace DBZ is high paced but BE PATIENT!
I wanna make Afro humble. The best way to learn is to study and practice as much as you can. No matter how hard it may seem or how difficult you may find it, you CAN do these combos

One tip you can do is when someone super dashes you hold down and press the heavy attack also dont vanish everytime you miss a combo you'll get punished for it alot
Keep at it Afro to be good at Fighterz consistency is the most important thing. Try to get used to the movement of the characters which might sound silly at first but try to get comfortable learning how to move around the screen and air dashing without using super dash to get in, and memorize the range of your buttons don’t just mash auto combo!
I stopped playing when it first came out for the same reason. I got back on it that same year and it’s my most played game now. I’m not like Lotus or Doto but I love playing it!

Ayeeeee Fighterz Gang. I’ve actually gotten heavy into this game, and I was the same way I hated it at first because the learning curve was just ridiculous but now I’m building up pretty nicely. I’m at Demon lvl currently, never payed attention to the square thing so I wouldn’t know.
You must be talking about rank, square colors technically for casual, ion play rank, basically square colors skill gaps

Reminds me of when I got Storm 3 and I lost pretty much every match. Probably my 200th game in thats when I started getting good . Now I pretty much beat most the other players I see online. But don’t give up Afro !!!

I would definitely love to see you get into the game more. Its legit the only fighting game i ever got into. Season 3s coming with new characters and a bunch of system changes, now would definitely be the best time to practice cuz come february 28th when the mew season comes shits gonna change a lot

One tip you can do is when someone super dashes you hold down and press the heavy attack also dont vanish everytime you miss a combo you'll get punished for it alot

Keep at it Afro to be good at Fighterz consistency is the most important thing. Try to get used to the movement of the characters which might sound silly at first but try to get comfortable learning how to move around the screen and air dashing without using super dash to get in, and memorize the range of your buttons don’t just mash auto combo!
I stopped playing when it first came out for the same reason. I got back on it that same year and it’s my most played game now. I’m not like Lotus or Doto but I love playing it!
