I didn't even know he had a wife. He was only 23 or 24 years old here, but he looked so much older than his age at the time. They didn't mention that he was a police officer. I wonder if he was one yet in 1973?
@@abusayed93That first exercise he's doing stepping up and down with the weighted bar on his shoulders .. have you any idea what that exercise is called and what it targets specifically?
HE was gifted with huge amounts of food when some people hadnt got the money to eat.All because it was more important for him to do his strongman contests. He should have been made to stump up the money to buy that.
Wow, what a rude comment! Geof Capes had businesses lining up to sponsor him because they wanted his face all over their shops and newspapers. Back then, he was like the coolest celebrity, always on TV, and he even held the world record for being the strongest guy. And get this, he still holds the British shot put record after a whopping 51 years! If he was doing his thing nowadays, he'd probably be rolling in dough as a millionaire athlete.

No fat on me? Well there was lots, and tons of it when he quit
Amazing video. Thank you for sharing
Love this! Now, I'm going to have to see if I can locate the entire documentary.
I’d love to know if anyone still does that diet in strongman… I’ve never heard of anyone recommend drinking that much milk. Legend :)
Mate research indian traditional wrestlers like the great Great Gama and see how much milk they drank...
