He is a pioneering architect, a teacher and an influential architectural thinker of modern India.
His studio, Vastu-Shilpa (environmental design), was established in 1955.Doshi worked closely with Louis Kahn and Anant Raje, when Kahn designed the campus of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Doshi is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and has been on the selection committee for the Pritzker Prize, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, and the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. He is also a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects. His buildings include NIFT Delhi, IIM Bangalore, CEPT University, Ahmedabad, Amdvad ni Gufa and many more. He has been awarded the Padma Shri ,Honorary doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and France's highest honour for arts the 'Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters', 2011. In my third year, our prof failed us all and we were just beyond sad. The thing is he didn't even encouraged us, instead he laughed how we all failed. It felt so bad. I don't think he ever thought even for once about how we felt and then there is Mr Doshi, he admits he was a bit harsh. That's all we want we just need a support not punishment, we're learning and nobody is perfect.

@Kalpesh Shah you just made my day! While reading out how you life got so many turns and still, you managed out to choose what you want.. U knew about how everything will end up all well..this was something else..that made me feel so so inspired! I had a simple give when I was in 12th to choose something I didn't heard about much before.. And touch wood, everything went stable for me till now.. I faced no such consequences like you did yet but I am sure that if I would have the changing Trump card in my life, I will try my best to ace out by remembering how you aced out! I am now typing unnecessary but it was good to have ur experience shared with me. I now am an architecture student of 2nd year, trying to enjoy what I do! Umm at last cudos to you too for coming so far! All the best for your future:)
