My first Fender amp was a used Fender Vibroverb and it had a 15" J B Lansing speaker and my parents let me pick out the guitar of my choice and I chose the Fender Mustang bright red w/white pearl pickguard this was my 15 yr. old Birthday present in 1964 and this was the amp and guitar of my 60's childhood dreams. I will turn 74 this May 6th and I still have this amp and it still works, but I don't have the Mustang anymore I traded it in on a new Fender Jaguar.

Just the kind of vid. I like. Shows the pure amp sound and them how to beef it up in a real gigging situation while keeping its character. You’re too modest you get a great sound.

I have had my Vibroverb since 1976. I love it. I just had it restores by a Fender authorized dealer.

A 15" is a great speaker for guitar. This amp sounds wonderful.

I like how you caught yourself at that bended note and did it again. It’s refreshing to hear someone break down what they’re hearing, how to enhance a guitar’s/amp’s tone, and why they like it versus sanctimonious praising of vintage equipment just cause it happens to be vintage.

In 1995 I put an ad online saying Wanted Vibroverb amp and low and behold......A guy named Red called me up and I went to Saratoga Ca (about 40 miles away) and snagged an orig 64 with 15 JBL (reconed) It is usually not working .....but now it finally is again. It never leaves the house Nice playing! thats a No poblano Strat! get it? My 3 yr old Calico was really checking you out at the end while on my lap but she ran off when you cranked it.

I have had mine since 1976. Everyone was going for the newer amps back then. I got it for $99.

Just a quick observation- Cesar's mods did indeed increase output like you say. However, the big reason for replacing the rectifier tube with a diode was to improve reliability. My dad bought his 64 Vibroverb ~1967 and when the rectifier used to go out - which happened often - it would take out the main fuse and the 6L6s in the process. Never blew the output tubes after a diode was installed in the 80s. The original JB Lansing speakers were also quite unreliable and he blew 3 coils within 5 years before he put a pair of 12" Rola alnicos in it. I recently put an Eminence legend 1518 and it has incredible tone, sensitivity and output.

Great playing, demo and love the amp. Love the Artisan Guitars feed! On this particular amp- one has to ponder though- how poorly it’s sound was as a Vibroverb that conversion to a Twin Reverb was the only option.

That's some dandy pickin', Jesse. Nice combo of amp, pedals, axe, and technique. And that Vibroverb is bitchin
