MeTV Toons Premiere Promo Loop + First Show Intro & Break (June 25th, 2024, 6:00 AM ET - 44.6 WTOG)

- This is the on-air premiere of MeTV's sister channel "MeTV Toons," a 24-hour network of classic cartoon programming, and the first to be broadcast over-the-air, as channels of this type were usually offered through a cable, satellite, or IPTV provider.
MeTV viewers were already familiar with the channel's offering of animated programming. In 2021, MeTV debuted "Toon In With Me," an hour-long hybrid aimed at younger audiences mixing classic cartoons and new live-action segments using human talent and puppetry.
The broadcast started with a looped 5m22s promotional video describing the new channel and its cartoon catalog. At 6:00 AM ET (video time 6:11 / full zero timecode), the channel cut to black, and programming began with the premiere episode of Captain Planet and the Planeteers, "A Hero for Earth" (only the intro is shown here). The channel cut to a short break promoting the show Inspector Gadget and a segment called "Cartoon College." The commercial/promotional breaks segue using show-specific bumpers and rejoiners.
Broadcast was captured on digital over-the-air channel 44.6 from station WTOG licensed to St. Petersburg, FL. Recorded using a TiVo Romaio DVR and transferred for editing using the open-source TiVoToGo alternative kmttg.
MeTV Toons is jointly owned and operated by Weigel Broadcasting and Warner Bros. Discovery Networks. All programming within this video is protected under copyright and is shown here strictly for archival purposes. No deliberate infringement is intended.

Very nice, but I live in a non-line-of-sight peninsula, under an aircraft flyway, surrounded by large trees. In the days of analog TV, the best we got was "ghost images and colored snow." We signed up for cable TV as soon as it was available and things have been fine. A friend brought a homemade digital TV antenna to see if anything could be tuned in. Result: only an evangelical channel looked half way decent; major TV affiliates were "colorful snow." So, the Spectrum cable TV has me at their mercy. Time to leave cartoons/animated festures to physical media like DVDs.
😡 THERE ARE STILL MANY MANY PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE THIS AWESOMENESS
FIOS doesn't carry it! So angry about that!
I know!! FIOS doesn't have it!!
Missing out on Bullwinkle, Tenessee Tuxedo, Real Ghostbusters and Inspector Gadget!! NO FAIR!!
9:20 qubo RIP 2006 - 2021 Me TV 2024 Toons
Voiceover by Bob Bergen (the current and frequent voice of Porky Pig).
That's cool, I didn't know that was Bob lol
The channel is amazing. Watching it OTA right now. 🙂
Yes. MeTV has done a great job with this channel. Dare I say it's better than the original Boomerang
I am so excited about this incredible and awesome new television channel,MeTV Toons is going to be cartoon fans first stop place for classic animation and It only going better as time goes on,I can't wait for my TV provider to add this great channel to my television channel lineup!!!,Because if not, I'm going out to buy a digital antenna and cancel my cable TV service right away,This new channel is too good not to have on the major cable and satellite tv providers right now,Plus it's free over the air with a digital antenna,So hurry up cable and satellite tv put MeTV Toons on your service or we cartoon fans are leaving you.
I subbed to Friendly to get it. You're lucky to get it over the air!
It's a great channel I love it not every show mind you but overall I love the channel I can see it on my phone via Friendly or OTA at home.
@@TELEVISIONARCHIVES I hope this holds true, but MeTV Toons seems to have so much more variety than Boomerang, and the segments during commercial & promo breaks are much better. I hope they continue to add onto the channel and not create a bunch of segments and leave it for good. On Boomerang they repeated a lot of the segments and they got stale fast.
Finally Boomerang for cord cutters! Never thought it would see the light of day!
6: 00am EDT, as sunrise occurred in Ann Arbor, Michigan. MeTV Toons Premiered! GO PLANET!
I'm surprised they didn't do anything special for the moment the channel launched, but I guess that promo loop for the past 3-4 days is as close as we'll get.
but they start by showing the first cartoon shorts ever made. that's pretty cool.
I think the reason why they premiered Captain Planet first on that channel is because a birth of a new planet is formed: MeTV Toons
Thanks for uploading this. Unfortunately to my knowledge the MeTV Toons channel is not yet available over the air in my area
My damn antenna keeps losing the signal for all Metv stations
The very first thing that airs is Captain Planet? AWESOME!
(6:15) MeTV Toons Launches on WTOG at 6am with Captain Planet and the Planeteers! (e/i)
Why the hell are the histeria bumpers in 4:3
We love the classic toons!!!
BUT
The corny dude & fish should have been left out, we mute or change the channel every time they are on
Just subbed to your channel
Doesn’t appear to be available on Direct Tv even though they carry MeTV.
Do wait and see if it gets added. I know DirecTV has Boomerang and Turner probably doesn't want a competitor.
Not even on Cablevision?
@@glennjamin hopefully you are right. I called DirecTV Loyalty Department yesterday and they said it’s a chance they could add it but it’s up in the air as CV of now since MeTV Toons is a new channel. Probably want to see a demand for it first.
Also for DISH Network and hoping to bring MeTV back on channel 247!
@@pernelldh I hope you don’t be waiting a long time. I had Dish years ago. I always hated whenever they lost channels or were in a haggling dispute over rates with the carriers.
Seen it first air yesterday at 5 am central with Captain Planet! Was really excited to see this on regular TV again, and many other classic cartoon shows! On channel 26-7 in the Chicago area. I'm glad that my antennas picked this up, because it's a great channel!
Unfortunately my area doesn't have it yet. They acknowledge this part of the country doesn't have it on antenna yet. They need to hurry up. I like the Michigan J. Frog trivia - I hope they have more tidbits to bring up.
Same thing with my area, as my live TV service does not have it.
I was told MeTV Toons would be on antenna channel 51.2, replacing 1 of 2 MeTV+ channels in Houston, TX. I missed the 1st 40 minutes of the launch trying to re-scan the channels and wondering why it was not there with the 51 channel block of MeTV. I finally went to Google to find that MeTV Toons replaced Getv on channel 2.5! So, if all I missed was Captain Planet, then thank God because I hate Captain Planet!🤣
HE IS BACK FROM THE DEAD
Thanks! Didn't see any of MeTV Toons launch day because the internet was out. Seeing it on streaming service Frndly. Awesome! 😃
This was what I saw when I logged in just before 6am PDT.
I'm so pissed, I can't even get Metv with an antenna, I have to use Spectrum so I was really hoping Spectrum would add Metv Toons.😡
Is MeTV Toons have only classic cartoons and animation? And that’s really cool and fun this channel!
Yes, it does have some classic cartoons from the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's, as well as some cartoons from the 80's 90's and the 2000's (mainly Baby Looney Tunes and Krypto the Superdog to help fulfill in the channel's E/I requirements).
@@jeremyriley1238 MeTV Toons should make a deal with Disney to put more Classic Cartoons as well. Also they should bring more H-B cartoons too since it's not becoming available on MAX anymore.
I'm enjoying this channel right now! This takes me back to my childhood!
Spectrum tossed MeTV off the cable network in 2022, so MeTV Toons are digital-over-the-air only.
It’s alive
It’s like a birthday present 🎁 for because tomorrow my birthday I turned 34. Loving this channel ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Happy birthday!
Broooo Tallahassee doesn’t have this
Bro it is not on my TV even if it says that it's available where I live and I have Antenna!
MeTV tunes is on WDPN 2.10 and their signal blows. This is despite using an outdoor Lo-VHF antenna about 25-30 miles from Philadelphia.

I had to sign up for Frndly to watch this. They didn't get it until 7am central, I'm from the Midwest, and I missed out on Captain Planet, Real Ghostbusters, and the others. Fortunately I can record off of Frndly so I set up future recordings of the shows I don't want to miss.
I had to watch Rocky and Bullwinkle last night to see that God awful Natasha animation in the second part of the story

I think I hate this channel. Why? I was looking so forward to this thing. It was like it was made for someone like me, and....A BIG FAT nothing. In the infinate wisdom if my METV affiliate, they instead gave us a GARBAGE true crime documentary channel (the fifth one we have on OTA) and an even MORE GARBAGE channel devoted 24/7 90's trash talk shows. Springer died, Maury retired. Give that crap a rest! Talk about your bait and switch.
The Wikipedia article for the channel has a list of all affiliates. Maybe it's on a different channel? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MeTV_Toons#Affiliates
@@glennjamin I refreshed my digital tuner 3 times. No dice.
@@glennjamin I found out the problem. Me, being the complete idiot that I am apparently, expected my MeTV affiliate (WCVB) would have its sister channel on its line up. Instead of Story and Nosey, two of the most pointless digital channels that ever existed. The reality is, it's on some obscure little UHF (62) that's in the middle of no where in my state that has a frequency of "can't pick us up past the parking lot." No wonder why, after 4 tries, my digital tuner couldn't pick it up.
I have Xfinity/Comcast & live in the DMV (DC area). While I can get Metv & Metv+, I cannot seem to find this channel. I was hoping this promo would shed a little light about how to get this channel since the website is pretty vague.🤷🏾♀️
MeTV is primarily a terrestrial (over-the-air) channel but you can receive it through Internet TV services Frndly TV and Philo.
Your MeTV affiliate in Washington DC is WDME-CD, digital channel 48. MeTV Toons is carried on channel 48.5. If your TV's program guide or channel list shows anything different, it has not yet been updated, but 48.5 is the channel listed for DC. ThisTV is no more.
Same thing with Directv
I dont have it
I rescan my tv several times I still can't get it i live in Pensacola FL they say we get it on the list
I want to see a few things that I really like that cute talking, dancing frog and this very premier today and it did. I’ll check it out later.
I don't understand why Cox has MeTV but can't get MeTV Toons
I can’t wait till optimum provides it, I think it will replace old Disney on 31
They started with Gertie!!! Perfect segway.

This channel is so amazing. I enjoy watching Rocky and Bullwinkle and Casper and Company. And I’m glad to watch late night with shows like Mr. T, The Mask, and Beetlejuice. ❤
As of 6-27-24, it isn't on Comcast/ Xfinity cable in the Chicago market.
I received it on WMEI 31.2, Green Bay, Wisconsin...
plz put class on 3000 on metv
@@TKGIOIA Class of 3000 is produced by Cartoon Network Studios and, if chosen, will more than likely play on CN's own classic cartoon channel Boomerang.

Warner Bros. Discovery is probably one of my favorite mergers alongside NBCUniversal. Paramount Global (ViacomCBS) and Disney's acquisitions are 🤮.
Classic Disney was WAY better than Modern Disney
I haven't been able to say this in a long time, but there is actually something good on tv now i cant even go to bed cuz i don't want to miss out now this takes me back to classic cartoon network times😀

Same here.
Me too. I'm from Atlanta,GA and I did not get the channel. As what happened to me when Cartoon Network came out in October 1992, my provider (Xfinity), didn't pick it up until three years later in 1995. Either I have to wait until my provider gets this channel or get an antenna to hook up.

Metv Jr/Kids
@@mateocircle Would be fun but it is well-known that classic cartoons are not always fully kid-friendly. Cartoons during the Golden & Silver Ages of Animation sometimes contained innuendos, stereotypes, and mild vulgar language ("damn", "hell", "ass/jackass/wiseass") that wouldn't be appropriate today. The release, adoption, and enforcement of the Hays Code in the 1930s then tried to straighten up movies and cartoons into a more appropriate manner, which later became the MPAA/MPA ratings system. While a name like MeTV Jr. or MeTV Kids does sound good, parents may be shocked that their content has parts that aren't 100% family friendly.
Thank you.
This guy especially deserves thanks for all those viewers who did NOT to get to see the launch firsthand; OF WHICH THERE ARE MANY!!!!!! 😡
