    I'd put that contraption
    in front of my television.
    You probably couldn't
    get me off it.

Thank you sir.I got in the habit of riding on my toes, for fear of getting hung up after a wreck on a colt. I’d love to build a riding simulator, I live in the city, but I want to keep good habits current.

I don't even have a horse or anything, but this video was very interesting nonetheless.

You have on mud boots with heavy tread on bottom. That’s a big no-no!

I have not ridden in many years , however even in childhood/ teenage years I had an agonizing pain in my knees while riding - especially when was the time to stretch my legs, straighten the leg/knee and dismount. Now I have discomfort in my knees not even ridding a horse. I'd like to go back to ridding ( western ) but I am afraid of the disappointment not to be able to. It was an English ridding. Is there any advice ? Thank you

invest in some good stirrups. I've heard that sprenger bow balance are good for a lot of people with knee pains

I had the same experience the first time riding after 15 years. The problem was that my stirrups were too short. The adage here in Wyoming is that if your knees hurt your stirrups are too short. If your butt hurts your stirrups are too long. Give it a try and see if it makes a difference.

@@wyominghome4857 , thank you for this advice. I will try longer stirrups next time. We rode about a month ago and the pain wasn't nearly as bad as today.

You wouldn't want to ride a racehorse like that, you'd rub burn them. Trainers get very upset with a rub burned horse, as it can lead to lameness and or sore shoulders!
