My twin boys never had a “Terrible Twos” (or Threes, or whatever) phase! Here’s how I think we avoided it: whenever it became obvious there was going to be a “power struggle”, we quickly *gave* them some power. Little kids are at the mercy of us adults for almost everything, they just want to flex some control from time to time (like when Flynn was insisting Mommy sit down, then stand up, sit down, stand up, etc.) so in moments of near-tantrums and frustration, we would redirect our kids’ attention by offering *choices* (between 2 or 3 things only... any more is overwhelming). “Do you want (to do, or play with, or eat, or go, or whatever.....) THIS or THAT??” We’d guide the moment through a bunch of choices (while making sure *we* were fine with whatever answers we got). We basically guided them through taking the reins ..... and suddenly, a tense moment completely diffused. It’s actually pretty easy. I have some pretty clever, self-assured 15yos now. (BTW, this only works with kids who aren’t already tyrants, ruling a household with their little iron fist. Spoil your kids at your own peril. Lol!!!.)

Oh, I am Posh ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. I learned how to sing alto by listening to her parts. Her autobiography is my favorite book as a performer, because I can absolutely relate to her struggles and insecurities.
