I'm from Central Oz and don't go fishing often. For the first time this June I'm off to Cairns so I'm looking forward to something different from the cold ocean fishing. Needless to say, I've been searching 'Cairns fishing' on TH-cam a lot in recent weeks.
Hey Mate, Great vids, Good to see fishing method and not just fish on deck. side note: sent message re underfloor fuel tank for your boat. Looking forward to more Barra and Thready vids as season rolls on 👍
I enjoy the under-stated way you go about presenting to camera, you vary things up nicely and do the gear tips bit really well. Hope the channel keeps building. Bit of a naff question, but what brand is the skull and crossbones cap you're wearing? BKK? I saw Matt in Pelagic Pursuit has one too...
Thanks mate, it’s just me being me ✌🏻😅 The hat is from Tide Apparel, Matty and I are part of the team with Tide, check your local BCF for them if you can find one
Whats the breed of you tackle storage system with the 4 boxes in it? I have a 5.2 pro series and your boat doesnt have as much crap floating around. Its bloody tidy!
Depends on what fish, for the most part I’ll say no, but to pressured big salty barra then yes definitely. A lot of the time on big barra I’ll stop the ping once I’ve located fish.,
@@Micksgonefishing I’d say a bit of both, but mainly casting Lures on 80lb Braid to 100lb Leader with BKK Raptor Z’s in 1/0, 2/0 n 3/0. Appreciate your time also Mick, cheers
How goods a Mugil. Seeing them ripping past the standing timber gave me deja vu and made me moist.
Love seeing someone not throwing Squirrels. 🤫
I love the Aussie timber scene, so many cool lures that hardly anyone knows about!
@@Micksgonefishing It must help to have a few secret weapons that nobody has thrown round your parts before, given the pressure.
Ay mate love the videos. Should make a video on how you choose where to fish and times and tide and running though the sounder. Loving the videos mate
Thanks mate!! Great feedback and I will incorporate these ideas into future episodes!
@@Micksgonefishing I'm from Hervey Bay looking at heading up the coast might see you on the way.

Hey mick, what brand are those blue split ring pliers you have?
They’re a Japanese brand named Allex, they were a gift in 2012. Can’t find them online anywhere!
Loving these vids man taking tips I’ve only ever caught 3 Barra 😂 I got a little Insta page and want to start YouTubing soon
Thanks mate!! I’m glad to share ✌🏻 and do it mate, it’s fun and you learn a lot from watching yourself fish 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️😂
