From what I’ve heard about how inaccurate an adaptation this show is, he seems like he cares about the character and his origin from the books more than the writers did. Maybe he should’ve written the show honestly. 🤷🏻♀️
i know the book says that Magnus is bisexual, but he seems more pansexual to me?? he says that he falls in love with the soul before the sex it’s just my opinion, but it just seems to me that Magnus doesn’t care about the gender of the person he falls in love with of course, he’s a canon bisexual, so i can’t complain either way. *tl;dr* it’s still a lgbtqa+ character. something that isn’t seen often in movies and books. i almost exclusively watch shows/movies and read books that have lgbtqa+ characters, but i like shows like Shadowhunters (Glee as well. and 2017 Dynasty) the main focus isn’t on the gay relationship, it’s just something that adds to the story. unlike movies that are focused on the relationship, like Call Me By Your Name (great movie) or Brokeback Mountain (haven’t watched it, but i heard its good) but i think the sweetest moments in the show have come from these two characters, which i absolutely love and i’m glad that i can sort of relate to Alec in the beginning. he thought it was bad to be a certain way (in my case trans gay guy; in his case gay guy). but as the show progresses, he grows as a person and learns that it’s okay to be gay 🏳️🌈
