It might be because of the polysorbate 20 that keeps it liquid. Used in a somewhat high amount will change the formula quite a bit.

This is my new go-to pomade/product. So much texture and volume and it works as a fantastic pre-styler.

When you post-styled with it, what works best, leaving it a little creamy or breaking down all the way?
I always break it down in my hand, not so much because the product needs it, but more so to prevent large clumps of product in my hair.
@@MMTV Ah, yeah, that does make sense. I got a new ASAH bottle last night and tried post-styling with for the first time this morning. I did two small pumps, first one I left a lil creamy and the second one I broke down all the way.

it’s in between dry and soft I’d say. nothing negative unless you use too much haha!
Great video as always! 1 question tho, does it provide heat protection when blowdrying?
I’d have to review the ingredients again and see if any of the oils provide natural heat protection or not. This wasn’t something steve specifically told me about, I don’t use heat protectant or see the need for it so it’s not something I usually look for.

Just outta curiosity, on a daily basis for you, what would you find using more.
Nevermore, antigravity, or enigma?
Dawson Turner since getting and testing enigma I’ve been using that as a pre styler a lot. I think post styling with nevermore or Anti Gravity works great too, as well as other clays like hybrid for example. If I had to choose one though I do really like nevermore. I know I’m biased towards that one since it was partially mine, but I’ve always really enjoyed styling with it.
Modern Man TV nice dude. I use nevermore all the time man, it’s seriously one of a kind. Thinking about picking up enigma though.

For your bad leg, have you looked into DDP yoga it might be able to help you out, i am currently getting back into it and it has helped many people out.
I will certainly check it out and I appreciate the suggestion! I have a hip impairment and am told as of now that hip replacement will probably be the only thing that fixes it.

Question. I know they're completely different philosophies and products, but I'm curious. How would this perform against Original by Blumaan in terms of hold and control? I would he using both as a pre stylers. I have fine hair
Louis Carrion I’ve actually thought about this a lot and there are 2 things that stand out to me as major differences here between this and original. Not saying one is better than the other or worse or anything. Just two differences. I feel like enigma is less dry ( depending on how much is used) and provides more texture. Original I think probably provides more overall stability but if your end goal is more texture, enigma will give you a leg up towards that.

Does this have less tug than byvilain sidekick spray? I’m asking because that’s one thing I didn’t like from sidekick and I like the idea of a creamy product so it’s less drying to my hair
Joel Rivard much less, but that’s also why I said find your pump number. You will find there’s a perfect pump number for your hair, mine is around 2. If I were to use 1 then the hold would be less than what I want and if I use 3 then it’s got too much hold and if I use 4 then it’s too sticky and dry.

I guess I could... but you can pretty much see what’s going on with the back when I turn my head haha. There’s nothing Separate going on back there.
Modern Man TV yes, I mean for subsequent product review videos, I also would want to see how your hair styled at the back / crown area.
I don't know about you but this product is remarkably difficult to wash out even with shampoo for me, I have to apply conditioner as well to fully rinse out all of it

Was nevermore meant to be used with a blow dryer as well?
bensullivan Not in the same way as this one, but I would say nevermore works better in blowdried dry hair than in damp. Enigma goes through this physical change as the heat dries it into your hair. I didn’t feel that same effect with nevermore.

Just got my bottle. It smells nice but the pump won't unlock!!! Is any one else going through this???
to unlock mine I just had to turn the actual pump ( not the part that attaches to the bottle ) until it unlocks. They ship locked im assuming to avoid spilling.

Guy Prieto wow that’s nuts! I’ve had some get stuck on shampoo but I’ve gotten them out by turning them and pulling at the same time. Definitely let steve know, I bet he will take care of you. Until then you can use the product by just making about a quarter size amount in the palm, it’s about equal to 1-2 pumps. I bet Steve will help you out tho definitely make sure you shoot them a message they always take care of people.

Same thing happened to me. I basically had to take the pump part apart and then put it back together and then somehow it started working lol

Well that’s why I explain things as well, but if 2 products offer a matte finish they are going to look the same, unless one of them is not really offering the finish they claim to be. That’s why it’s important for me to test things. There’s also that little thing about being a human and not being able to change my hair every video but 🤷♂️

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying. I, for instance, have fine (thin in diameter) hair but I have a lot of it (I'm not thinning, I have a thick head of hair). If my hair diameter was thick and I had a lot of hair, I'd have coarse, thick hair.
