It certainly would've been different but better? That's pretty subjective. If this was the third in place of TDKR, Do you have an idea of how you would do the ending?
Spencer Malley You're right, it is subjective. And while the comments here are made in such a way as to imply that their opinions (this fan film's premise being better than the Dark Knight Rises) are the correct belief, it is also true that your multiple posts and arguments imply that you believe your opinion (the opposite) to be the correct belief. Therefore, as this playing field has been leveled morally (in terms of social etiquette at least), we can begin discussing. I believe it is unfair for you to demand fans of this idea to have an entire movie thought out in their heads before they begin enjoying the idea more than a fully realized movie. The Dark Knight Rises -is- a full movie with a significant amount of money behind it and a full narrative to get people invested and produce enjoyment. This gives the movie an advantage, it has more going for it in terms of pulling people in and building enjoyment and entertainment value. If this fan film has accomplished the same feats (for some) without the same amount of narrative, that is a testament to the fan film, not a detriment. However, I suppose you are entitled to an explanation for one might believe this fan film's premise has enough potential to have made a better film than the Dark Knight Rises. The Dark Knight Rises had three primary issues in my belief. It had similar pacing issues to Man of Steel and other modern movies in which things continue to happen one after another without letting anything settle in, or allowing the audience to become involved in a scene before something else happened. It also virtually neglected the previous film. If the scenes of TDKR containing mention of Harvey were to be replaced with Bane destroying the established police force and government to _force_ Gotham back into disorder, the movie could have taken place after Batman Begins without The Dark Knight ever having happened. And if we're honest, an entire city revolting against the government (in the degree that it happened) because of a cover up is somewhat ridiculous. And in the end, the movie's greatest sin (In my opinion) was removing Bane's menace. He was an anarchist, a man out to beat the Batman and we didn't know why. Bane is (and was shown to be) a brilliant mastermind who was pulling strings and setting up events to occur all while physically defeating Batman. However, they turn him into a mere henchman of Talia by the end and kill him off unceremoniously and without significant thought. This fan film _is_ different, but that doesn't mean it would have made a better film than TDKR. However, the Riddler as a villain tends to lend himself to slower paced scenes which may have helped prevent the pacing issues of TDKR. The plot also seems as if it would be _entirely_ dependent on the events of The Dark Knight, as it would be about Enigma trying to piece together what happened in the final days of that movie. This would have helped make a trilogy of movies that all built off one another rather than simply sampling each other for motivations. And you add in the psychological aspects of Scarface which could lead to a series of fake-outs and a metaphorical decent into the human mind. However, that is simply speculation. In the end it still would have come down to writing and directing. However, as of this fan film (acting sort of like a pseudo-trailer), the premise of this fan film and the non-existent film it alludes to seems more promising than how TDKR turned out. However, that is simply my opinion, and this wall of text has simply been me attempting to share said opinion with you. If you thought TDKR was great and disagree with me on some of what I have written (or all of what I have written) that is perfectly fine.
Jensaw101 While TDKR does bring alot of things back from Batman Begins, I do not believe that to be a detriment nor do I believe that Rises completely negelcted the Dark Knight. Gothams nefwound piece begins and ends with Harvey Dent who was nowhere to be found in Begins and Bruce's character arc of learning to live again involves him letting go of Rachel, who was quite alive at the end of Begins. If you think that Rises ignored the previous movie because it doesn't mention the Joker or touch on the rise of the freaks angle, I'm sorry you think that but I personally didn't mind that they didn't follow up on the latter because the Joker really is the top of that mountain. On a Side-Note, I completely disagree with the "Bane is a Henchmen" idea. I firmly believe that Talia and Bane were equal partners. Bane was in charge of the siege of Gotham and it was quite clear that he was indoctrinated into the League of Shadows philosophy to the point of him saying "I am the league of shadows". I have a hard time believing he did all that just to protect Talia's identity. While were on the subject, Banes menace was pretty much stripped from him when Batman defeated him at the end. There are some great fan films out there and this one definitely ranks with the best, In fact it actually is what I thought the third films was going to be before I saw Rises (Batman getting chased by the cops, Fighting the newest gotham freak of the week) When I ask some people how they would've ended it, The reason I ask is out of simple curiosity and nothing more. In fact, I probably shouldn't even ask that question because it's kinda obvious( Batman redeems himself in the eyes of gotham so the police won't chase him anymore, Resolves to be Batman forever in a city that will always need him) I understand the desire to see all of bruce waynes stories end with the possibility for more adventures that but at the same time i appreciate and respect Nolan's decision to actually give his story an ending. Finally, I think this Fan Film probably would've made a very good Batman movie( although i would miss Anne Hathaway"s Selina Kyle)
Roberto Blake the dark knight rises wasn't very good mainly because they fucked up bane so badly that i can barely explain. also they rushed it and it turned out as a stupid film
Wow. That was arguably the greatest fan film I've ever seen. The Ventriloquist AND The Riddler? Those are 2 of my favorite Batman villains! It also fit in well with The Dark Knight mythos and contained two main villains, like the first 2 movies did. My only issue was that Zsasz already appeared in the series. He was played by Tim Booth in 'Batman Begins'. Otherwise, my only complaint is that it isn't longer!
Well, he's a good side villain to have after his minuscule role in Batman Begins. Scarecrow went from main villain to side villain in the latter 2 films, so having Zsasz here doesn't bother me at all. At least he's given more a purpose. :)
Yes. There have been fine and great Bruce Waynes.. NEVER has there been a good live action Batman on the big screen. Afflec came close finally filling out the suit in a size true to the dark knight.. but none of them just can match Keven Conroy to sound like him
:P Sacred cow *snickers* My favorite version is the Animated series from the late 90s-mid 00's (Keven Conroy as the voice) I think the mistake is they cast Bruce Wayne not Batman. Batman is one of those where the hero is the real identity, He's batman all the time but puts on the mask of Bruce Wayne for the public. The deep solid brooding voice should be the actors norm, and it's when they are playing the part of Bruce Wayne that the voice is changed instead of the other way around
I laugh every time I hear Bales batvoice. I can't take it seriously. Completely takes me out of the movie when serious scenes have me laughing at the voice.
Bale's Bat voice has grown on me over the years. I just still have to question why he and Affleck do that when none of the animated Batman voice actors ever did. It's not like a criminal has ever walked up to Batman and said "Hey, you sound exactly like Bruce Wayne!"
Much better idea than the serial killer idea many wanted. Love the acting from the main bad here. As usual with fan films stunts aren't that good, but Villain stole the show.
More Batman shorts needs to have the Ventriloquist. Am I the only one who thinks he can be portrayed well in this form of media? Besides that, I enjoyed this short, especially who portrayed Wesker and Nigma.
Great fan made film, batman was a bit disapointing but the riddler was brilliant, just the little things he added to the part, liked the revealing of scarface too, really well done :)
Ugh this is a good idea for another Batman movie in the Dark Knight Universe.... If only Nolan would do a Dark KNight Saga..... but i wouldnt want to force him to do it if his heart isn't into it....
Agreed. Heck,I even think that this was a really amazing take on the Riddler; An FBI agent with a genius level IQ and a superiority complex who went rogue. Scarface brings off a "Chucky" vibe about him, sheer BRILLIANT!!
Well then Bruce would have to come back from fake death wouldn't he, though I think that something so large would have to happen that he would come back to Gotham, then we can have this kind of stuff.
Although Bruce wasn't the Batman in between the Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. He quit after Harvey died.He came out of retirement 8 years later because of Bane.
Okay! I Absolutely LOVE this take on the Riddler! An FBI agent who actually doesn't care about justice, only the 'puzzles' of solving cases?! YES!!!! It's an intriguing take, gives him access to a TON of new resources, and makes him thematically the opposite of Bruce and Gordon! Amazing! :D
I gotta say for a fan made spin off that was pretty friggin good. The acting wasn't phenomenal but it was decent. I loved the batman outfit and the voice for scarface was spot on.
Yes, but Bryan still kept things somewhat consistent with a more tired, rougher Batman. So this might be a couple days, a week maybe after The Dark Knight, Idk.
Riddler's a fantastic character in a lot of comics, you just gotta look for the right ones. I'd recommend Questions Multiply The Mystery, Zero Year, and A New Dawn. But yeah, he's great in this!
AWESOME job with this! Your actors were really good & convincing. I also enjoyed your Bat gadgets and your Scarface "Dummy" and vocal for him was terrific! You have a good sense of the subject/material. Kudos again, Great job!
When I was watching ‘The Batman’ I was getting serious flashbacks to this. Idk how to explain it, so I decided to come back here and rewatch it all these years later.
You need to make more Batman stuff, this was fucking awesome, the origins of the Riddler, now there is something that I have always wanted to see, and you nailed it by putting it into the Nolan-verse, thank you for doing that.
This feels like a whole movie but with more to come and I seriously love it. For starters the concept of it all is great. Making Scarface a primary villain was interesting and the fact that Arnold Wesker worked so hard just to get that dummy was funny but also showed how much the Ventriloquist really relies on Scarface. I also like the Victor Zsasz inclusion. The Batman they had in my opinion looked and sounded a lot like Nolan's version which was nice. But out of everything here I loved the Riddler in this. His motivation, how he acted. Not sure if he's better than Paul Dano but he far exceeds Jim Carrey and he is probably my favorite part of this all. Sad thing is that I'm left wanting more but this is just as good being a standalone thing. I saw The Dark Knight: Legacy fan-flim but I've gotta say this is probably better to me. Whoever made this did a very good job.
I thought that the fight scenes were a little slow but that was literally the ONLY thing i had with this!! The characters the acting with a VERY LITTLE margin for the underacting Batman, was absolutely insane!!! Great Job! I want a sequel!!!!
I love how the label on the case has the Arkham logo from the Batman Arkham universe. I think having the classic Arkham Asylum intercom chime weaved into the music would have been awesome, and let's forget the reference to Harley Quinn on the label either.
I never thought a real life/live action Scarface interpretation would have worked unless I'd have seen this. Despite the less than batman-ish batman acting, this is definitely a true triumph to fan films and those who are talented and dedicated enough to make a masterpiece out of a beloved franchise without Hollywood. Congratulations, this was worth watching.
Wow! Your like a mini Nolan. This was incredible. One of the greatest fan films I have ever seen! You've earned a sub for life. After this you'll have no problem getting a job in the biz. Good luck on all your future endeavors.
Wow guys, seriously one of, if not the best, fan made Bat pieces I've seen. Riddler was done to perfection, Scarface seemed legitimate (which can be tough to do) and I love how you've tied in Nolan's series and using this like an alternate timeline.
Still waiting for a live action Batman that can fight like you get to see in the Arkham Games and Assault on Arkham. Come on now! I am hoping we will see that in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! We need the Kevin Conroy type of Batman!
You might try watching the short films "Batman: The Last Laugh" or "Batman: The Bloody Valentine." Pretty good choreography in both of those, although the Joker was a little weak in The Last Laugh. Bloody Valentine definitely has an Arkham Origins feel to it, if that's what you're looking for.
This was really good! Honestly, considering what you had to work with, as compared to The Dark Knight films, this has good acting, lighting, writing, budget and a decent Batman! Great work!
As much as I love this film and think it's perfect, there's one thing that keeps bugging me. Why does Scarface seem to have his own voice when he is in fact a puppet? If this was the Nolanverse, it would probably play on Wesker having some mental disorder or something whereby he'd do the voice himself. The phone call scene didn't seem to add up seeing as he was in the box, whilst on the phone, whilst Wesker was in the room. Other than that, incredible!! The guy playing Nigma is perfect!
Well, Ventriloquisim is the art of throwing your voice, even from large distances. That's what Arnold could've been doing and we weren't shown. :o The fact that it was over the phone was strange.
I have seen alot of fan made batman vids and this has by far the best acting of them all, the guy who plays the riddler, your performance is brilliant, absolutley professional, well done. The script is also very well written, massive appreciation to guys, outstanding piece of work, sending the love from London!
Really? I don't see it. XD I thought Wil Daniels did a good job staying true to the Riddler's personality while not being over the top like Jim Carrey or too bland like Corey Michael Smith in Gotham. Wil brought that middle ground in his performance perfectly imo. :)
***** Other than the horrid voice of certain characters I really kinda liked it. You could have been better though. They should have taken more time on it.
Damn this incredible! The acting, the dialogue, the quality and all of it seriously is fantastic. I wish it was a full length movie! I really like how they made the Riddler believable but very interesting none the less.
This was freaking amazing!!! If this was on DVD I would put it right by my dark knight copy and consider it part of the Nolan stuff very well done would love to see a killer croc or clayface.
Incredibly well done...Especially considering how you dared to take on the super-high-quality Nolan universe, where any bit of cheese is going to stink right through. Bravo!
Absolutely stunning. This is easily the best Batman fan-film I've ever seen. I especially love the Riddler, everything about him was just well written. This is so much more the direction TDKRises should have taken.

By far the best fan film I've seen yet. I need more!! Great setup, acting, staging. Was on point! Loved it! The Riddler and The Ventriloquist were awesome. Batman's costume and gadgets. There was nothing I didn't like about this.
extremely enjoyable, and the elderly man's performance was just absolutely excellent, excellently produced and written, if you have more planned I can't wait to see it!
"This Batman is a mystery. You cannot catch a mystery, you have to solve it." That's actually pretty good right there.

Great comments. Im going to also add I would be interested in Anne doing a Gotham City Sirens film...
Although he did appear in Batman Begins, he had absolutely no lines or character development what so ever. He might as well have not even been there.
@@brooksraguse234 Hey, at least he's given a purpose in this fan film that does Zsasz right. :)
Well, he's a good side villain to have after his minuscule role in Batman Begins. Scarecrow went from main villain to side villain in the latter 2 films, so having Zsasz here doesn't bother me at all. At least he's given more a purpose. :)
I had to pull a lot of strings to get this... lol. Great writing. I bet that went over a lot of people's heads.
I noticed
Am I the only one who doesn't mind Bales batvoice?
Not at all! I love it!
Much better idea than the serial killer idea many wanted. Love the acting from the main bad here. As usual with fan films stunts aren't that good, but Villain stole the show.
Both villains were written and portrayed flawlessly. Nigma, in particular, dominates the screen.
Any Chance this one gets a sequel? One of the best fan movies I ever watch! (And probably the best live action Riddler if you think about it)
I love this Riddler!
D-Brothers Entertainment this is who I think of when I think of riddler (I'm serious that's why I re watched this)
I am very late to the party of watchers here... This was a great film and I feel that all of the actors did a great job.
Well done crew.🦇
Love it, Enigma was great but the old man was freaking spot on!
wow...... I can't really tell that this is fan made. Love it.
More Batman shorts needs to have the Ventriloquist. Am I the only one who thinks he can be portrayed well in this form of media? Besides that, I enjoyed this short, especially who portrayed Wesker and Nigma.
That is the start of a great movie, you should be a director or producer! I would love to see the rest of that in theatres!
Great fan made film, batman was a bit disapointing but the riddler was brilliant, just the little things he added to the part, liked the revealing of scarface too, really well done :)
You guys definitely nailed the Nolan vibe. Nice way to continue the Dark Knight story, too. Nice job, all around.
Rampage Phoenix especially the part that the origin of using a cane like his other incarnations.
Well then Bruce would have to come back from fake death wouldn't he, though I think that something so large would have to happen that he would come back to Gotham, then we can have this kind of stuff.
Da Pumaface Or maybe it can a prequeal to Dark knight rises; like a "the dark knight chapter II" or something a lot more clever in latin or something
Although Bruce wasn't the Batman in between the Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. He quit after Harvey died.He came out of retirement 8 years later because of Bane.
Harvey Dent, can we trust him?
Cool! That Puppet it creepy.
Is this an alternate timeline where Batman did not retire after dark knight considering the plot description and the movie so far
Yes, but Bryan still kept things somewhat consistent with a more tired, rougher Batman. So this might be a couple days, a week maybe after The Dark Knight, Idk.
I love Scarface and Wesker, I'm glad to see them being used. Great job on the writing.
the soundtrack of this film is amazing...
I mean where does anyone get these amazing soundtracks?
Captain?
Please do a sequel, we need a sequel to this fan film.
Who's with me please tell me.
That is the best Riddler EVER. I think he sucks in the comics but he is so awesome here. Such a great performance
This has to be canon with the rest of The Dark Knight Trilogy.
Probably the best Batman fan film I’ve seen, but there is one problem, Nigma is talking about fingerprints on the gun but Batman wears gloves.
That was amazing! I hope you make more in the future.
When I was watching ‘The Batman’ I was getting serious flashbacks to this. Idk how to explain it, so I decided to come back here and rewatch it all these years later.
OMG i wish there was more!!! scar face was so GOOD.
batman needs to be bigger in the chest area like the cartoon.. but wow! excellent work!
Still amazing 10 years later
Whoever made this did a very good job.
perfect absolute perfect this should be the next movie of the dark knight series
I thought that the fight scenes were a little slow but that was literally the ONLY thing i had with this!! The characters the acting with a VERY LITTLE margin for the underacting Batman, was absolutely insane!!! Great Job! I want a sequel!!!!
Am I the only person who thinks that this is better than the Dark Knight Rises?
I love how the label on the case has the Arkham logo from the Batman Arkham universe. I think having the classic Arkham Asylum intercom chime weaved into the music would have been awesome, and let's forget the reference to Harley Quinn on the label either.
SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF! THIS iS SO GREAT!!
This is amazing, but all I gotta say about that puppet, is that it's terifying. All the characters we pretty spot on. I really enjoyed this.
AMAZING! Great job! I LOVED how you fit Riddler into the Nolan verse! He's PERFECT!!!
Please, for the love of God, PLEASE, MAKE A SEQUEL!
2012 my brother showed this to me before i saw the dark knight and i loved it.
I have now seen the dark knight and holy cow it's even better!!!!
Wow! Your like a mini Nolan. This was incredible. One of the greatest fan films I have ever seen! You've earned a sub for life. After this you'll have no problem getting a job in the biz. Good luck on all your future endeavors.
Up yours, Nolan ..... this should been the plot for a movie BEFORE the dark knight rises
Sigh
Wow guys, seriously one of, if not the best, fan made Bat pieces I've seen. Riddler was done to perfection, Scarface seemed legitimate (which can be tough to do) and I love how you've tied in Nolan's series and using this like an alternate timeline.
Still waiting for a live action Batman that can fight like you get to see in the Arkham Games and Assault on Arkham. Come on now! I am hoping we will see that in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! We need the Kevin Conroy type of Batman!
I'm afraid it's looking real likely it'll be the Frank Miller kind.
I have seen alot of fan made batman vids and this has by far the best acting of them all,
the guy who plays the riddler, your performance is brilliant, absolutley professional, well done. The script is also very well written, massive appreciation to guys, outstanding piece of work, sending the love from London!
Good film but the guy playing Nigma parroted Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow a bit much IMHO.
Really? I don't see it. XD I thought Wil Daniels did a good job staying true to the Riddler's personality while not being over the top like Jim Carrey or too bland like Corey Michael Smith in Gotham. Wil brought that middle ground in his performance perfectly imo. :)
Fantastic! Been a Batman fan for over 40 years, and that was, by far, one of the best fan films ever made.
Holyshit this is an amazing fan film
This is what i thought Nolan's third batman film was going to be before it was confirmed that Riddler wasn't going to be in it. Great job man.
Excellent work. Though I think you should have done a different Batman voice. The movie one was horrible, take some liberties with it.
+Shawn Scientifica I agree. Kevin Conroy rules! ;°)
+The Fanch fuck yeah!!!
One of the best Batman fan films I've ever seen. Nigma was perfect. Well done.
The actor for Batman sounded terrible.
He certainly did. So what did you think of the fan film :).
So Did Christian Bale in the actual films
the fan film its self is great
Absolutely. Always wanted to see scarface as a live action villain :).
***** Other than the horrid voice of certain characters I really kinda liked it. You could have been better though. They should have taken more time on it.
Best fan film I've ever seen. The acting, tension and cinematography are astounding
That was really good production quality, and whoever played The Riddler in this has a ton of potential.
This is absolutely phenomenal. Would love to see a full version of this film. Excellent work!!
I think that this video is outstanding I mean the effects the background music was fantastic well done
Incredible. By far one of the best on youtube, much less Hollywood, itself. You, sirs, are filmmaking geniuses. Super bravo.
Well done, I'm amazed. This is the only fan film I've ever viewed that I was able to watch more than a minute of without nodding off.
No joke, I wanna see Ventriloquist/Scarface in a live action Batman movie now. Underrated Batman villains deserve a chance on the big screen =).
This.. this is actually really good! You cast your characters perfectly- Wesker and Scarface are show stealers. Great job!
This is just amazing , I dont really like ending with that puppet guy , but acting , effects , camera and everything . It deserves like 9/10
Damn I wish you made more of these. This was incredibly good.
Brilliant! :) I had no idea how the riddler could have been adapted into a Christopher-Nolan type character. Great work! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Colour me impressed, One of the best fan films I've seen yet.
One of the best Dark Knight fan films. Just well put together and great image quality.
Every once in a while you come across a fan film so well made, well acted, well shot, well edited that you question why all fan films arn;t this great! absoluteness amazing fan film, you should all be proud of this outstanding piece of art!
YES! AWESOMELY DONE! this riddler was waaaaay better than any of the others
That puppet at the end! Great work! Really enjoyed watching!
Holy shit, you nailed all the comic characters, even Zsasz and Scarface!
The villans, directing, screen action, and plot- all great!
This is a work of art. A true masterpiece. Best fan film ever made!
This was a beautifully done fan film. It was suspenseful and featured brilliant acting and music. Riddler was incredible.
By far the best fan film I've seen yet. I need more!! Great setup, acting, staging. Was on point! Loved it! The Riddler and The Ventriloquist were awesome. Batman's costume and gadgets. There was nothing I didn't like about this.
The actor playing Scarface was brilliant. That’s one short film with very good actors
extremely enjoyable, and the elderly man's performance was just absolutely excellent, excellently produced and written, if you have more planned I can't wait to see it!
What a shame...there's no part 2 for this film...IS SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!
Scareface and The Riddler should have been in the Nolan series. Thanks for showing how awesome they could have been.
