I have 15k miles and my air filter still looks brand new! It’s not about mileage but where you live and drive. Make sure you check it every oil change to see if it needs replacing is the best rule of thumb . Same with cabin air filter

It's a superb video, but you should have used cleaner gloves, man! Greetings from Algeria (North Africa).

You'd definitely be on the safe side if changing the air filter every other oil change, I'd say you could easily change it every 5 to 6'th under normal conditions, but then again a turbo car under very dusty conditions might need it at every oil change. But great video non the less

ahh purolator; most shops use these and charge up of $45-$70 a change. They don’t even ask what brand I request, those are cheap. I would prefer something like STP. $15 and works well improving acceleration

Then you don’t take care of your car ! Change your air filter you will probably see an increase in your mile per gallon the dirtier that gets the harder it is for your engine to run and can even lead to a lean air fuel ratio meaning there is more fuel than air and can cause your spark plugs to foul, damage to engine and poor responsiveness!! Not to mention the cabin air filter is the air you breathe when driving and can cause disease!! They’re like $15 my man just get a cabin and air filter

How about checking very oil charge and see from your eyes if it’s dirty enough to charge. Some air filter can last up to a year

Up to a year? I’ve had mine for years and still doesn’t need replacing

@@chadhansen5057 point of that air filter is not just to filter , it has antiflamable properties , plus you can't just blow it, people would just blow gas masks filters in that case. It is not how it goes. Just do some reaserch on it, really not doing anything well. Trust me on this one , I do care about you and your car. My dad was like that also. And at the end of the dsy it doesn't cost almost anything. So nice to have a new part in a car honestly. Fresh and clean. Sure go clean your break calippers , paint them with heat resistant colour , do mods , add led reverse lights , have fun , but when it comes to filters or anything when it comes to engine , gearbox and transmission just use new or good parts if you are on a budget.

@@chadhansen5057don’t listen to this idiot. If you take your air filter out and cover up the inlet hole, you can definitely use compressed air to clean out the housing

@@BushcraftEuropehonestly, if the air filter is not too far gone, you can tap most of the dirt and debris off it. Then change it later to a new one
