Bought the Openaudio Witch Pro, spent time with them, came back to like the video and subscribed. Good thing the lone review on Head-Fi had no idea what he's talking about and was down on these and we get a good deal. Bassheads should not sleep on these! If you have a soul and like the QKZxHBB, these are like twice that in every way! Then you EQ them and get your mind blown a second time.
Sounds awesome but how does it compare to the Adonis New? I could get this one now or wait until 11-11 to grab the Adonis. Just wondering which one is more basshead friendly in your opinion. Thank you for another great one! 👍
@@_-Z- so the Adonis New has the slightest edge in mid bass, but I still prefer the bass signature of the Witch Pro because there is little to no bleed. The Adonis new is a smoother overall presentation, but the Witch is more defined in details and has greater dimension/immersion. You give up some of the smoothness of the Adonis up top to get the technical/live feel of the Witch though. The Adonis New is so freaking good, but the Witch Pro is more exciting. It’s going to depend on your preferences. I’m not going to call one “better” than the other, but the Adonis is probably a more mature and smoother overall presentation and is well worth its price. The Witch pro is very energetic and engaging, but makes no apologies for its raw/analog feel. Tough call. Price wise, obviously the Witch Pro is a better value tho.
How do these compare in technicalities (full spectrum detail retrieval, soundstage, imaging) compared to the Letshuoer S12 Pros with their fast planar driver? I'm intrested in the technical aspects (qualitative differences) more than the frequency responce ones (relative differences in amounts of bass/mids/treble).
The S12 Pro, as you know, is an extremely technical set. That said, I do not think the Witch Pro is that far behind. The sub bass is intense and heavy, but the tuning does keep it from being out of control or overbearing. It just gives a more textured feel than the bass on the S12. Certainly it is not as fast, but it is "fast enough" to avoid bleed or veiling of the lower mids. The mid bass is not bloated, but still hits hard and is quite detailed. The set has a very large overall presentation as far as staging is concerned. It does not feel intimate or pinched. I think this has to do with how they arranged the pinna gain and its release into the treble. The energy really pulls the whole presentation, from top to bottom, across the finish line for me. The upper mids are energetic without being shouty and the treble is highly detailed if not fully extended into the air region. comparing it to the S12 Pro, I find it just as open and just as detailed, but not as fatiguing. The air/sparkle is not as present in the Witch Pro, but the detail retrieval is on par - and that is throughout the FR. I love my S12 Pro. It was the very first IEM I tried, but I think from a technical performance standpoint, the Witch Pro is close enough and it has just an amazing, detailed, textured and satisfying bass response that I do like more than the venerable S12 Pro at this point. I am more of an emotional response reviewer, but I hope this was helpful. ☮
Great review …I have been looking at this set for a while, but I’m treble sensitive and wanted to ask you if you think this set gets piercing at high volume?. I listen, usually, at higher volume than regular people.
@@themilk3 it might. I mean the upper treble is not too much, but mid treble, right past pinna gain, is emphasized. I think it is very well done, but I don’t think I’m very treble sensitive…
@@BassDad8 thank you very much for your response…I’m looking for a basshead set that I can listen to at high volume but I’m not looking for a mid bass focused basshead, more overall basshead set. Do you have any recommendations I can look into?
@ the reason I picked those two is that they pick up the drops between 2 1/2 - 3 min on Agony by Slaughter to Prevail. Better than most sets. They can really rattle your skull
Could I get some help picking a portable dac from anyone pls? I am looking for a portable dac that can push at least 300mw @32ohms, whether that be out of the 3.5 or the 4.4 balanced. I am trying to find as portable of a dac as possible to run the binary acoustic DynaQuattro at it's best. So, based on what I have read and seen in reviews, 350mw would give good headroom, but 300mw is just right and anything less than that you will start to get muddy or veiled sound.
@@Quo_Audito it is going to be hard to get 300mW out of single ended ports. Even the DTC800 and Onix Alpha are limited to 180mW on the 3.5mm side. Good news is they have 480mW and 500mW respectively on the 4.4mm balanced side @ 32 Ohms. I’m thinking you’ll be in fine shape with either.
@BassDad8 oh those sound perfect! Is that 480mw and 500mw only in desktop mode or is that even when connected to a smartphone via usb-c? I was considering the fiio ka15, but they only list their power output when in desktop mode unfortunately.
@@Quo_Audito Their output is the same no matter the source. They do put a little strain on my older iPhone (13PM), but the battery drain isn’t terrible.
@@Quo_Audito Fiio makes some great stuff too. Keep your eye out for discounts on the venerable BTR7 as the 17 is soon to be released. The BTR7 is underrated and you don’t have to bother with the Bluetooth if you don’t want to
The best feeling is having half a sammich from earlier and a new BANGER review to watch.
Good to hear that you're using the Tri Clarion and the Tangzu Tips, me i love them tremendously
Cheers

I just purchased from Amazon
I've thought about getting these as a gift for my girlfriend and/or her daughter for a couple years but never saw a review. I thank you for this!
