I totally agree with the original poster. Love it!👍 Let me add: the reverence for the course, for the game, and for the outdoor experience shines bright.
Brings back great memories I was a junior member there when I was 16 and stupid and I never really appreciated how brilliant it was until I was a lot older Everyone needs to play it Wonderful golf course
That was an absolute pleasure to watch. Beautiful course done justice with some great camera work, even under the tough lighting and articulated in every sense of the word. What an great little golf trip. Cant wait to see more.
This is exactly the content we want to see Andy.Too many channels out there doing club reviews, ball reviews. The average golfers like us want to see on course experiences and quality of a good day out. Please more of the same.
Great video Andy . The 12th ''Spectacles'' is up there with the best of them . Lucky enough to be a member here and Turnberry and i can honestly say Southerness is my favorite course in the world . If you fancy a challenge against a cackhander let me know ⛳
Love the new style / direction of videos Andy! It doesn’t get any better than square sausage and golf at Southerness!!! 😊😊😊 I grew up playing golf at Kirkcudbright just a few miles along the Galloway coast but always loved playing Southerness - one of my favourite courses!
When I"m on a course like this quietly walking the fairways and watching as each shot streaks away towards the green, the beauty of golf touches the soul.
Loving this channel more and more. Such and antidote to the usual shouty marketing videos of so many other golftubers. Tracy-C gets my vote. A quick tweak with some levels in a photo editor and a limited print run would make it a real winner I think. Good luck and good health to you both
Stunning Andy, you’re a credit to the game of golf ! It’s been a dream of mine to play a proper links course and watching this vlog has only encouraged me to get up to Scotland 👏🏽
Thanks as always for the great video and we are wondering if you could share the name of the accommodation as we are heading there in August for an open. Thanks
The absence of hype, clickbait and shouty look at me commentary is both welcome and refreshing. The production values are god tier, I don't know where you learned these skills but they are up there with anything that the professionals produce, and I don't mean Golf Professionals, I mean SKY / BBC etc. Just a golfer in love with the game and it's surroundings and it shows as the course becomes the star performer. If you like this style I don't think it gets any better. Massive congratulations to everyone involved. - Mark
What a start to the series Andy!! Absolutely fantastic filming and I'll go posh and say cinematography!!😂 Southerness will be very happy with your vlog 👏👏 Btw Tracy (C) for the best photo 👌📸
What a great golf experience. Breathtaking views. We also have many great courses in Virginia but none to match these views. My dream trip would be to play golf in Scotland.
I agree Andy - the 12th is the best hole on the course. That turn towards the green and the Solway Firth behind it is magical. A really tough hole especially the approach with the two bunkers on the right and the knoll on the left. But the walk up to the green is special. We played it on a very windy day and it was tough. The elevated tee box on the 13th gives the best view of the course and that is why I'm going Tracy c for my fav photo. I'd love to play the course again in calmer conditions. A really special, old school links experience. A great video that bought back a lot of wonderful memories. Thanks!
What a great video Andy! Superb camera work to really encapsulate southerness and the views. Looks an ace place to be and to play golf. So want to visit there now. Tracy-C was the best photo but Andy -D pushed it close. A couple of questions for you: 1) what was the background music playing from 6.00-9.30ish? 2) what was the name of the lodge and where is it?
Andy, your wife is the photography winner. Frames a very good photo C, is the winner. I like the new format a lot. Let’s face it, a lot of channels are a bit like club sales pitches that have been done to death. Showing beautiful lesser known courses is definitely the way forward. Thanks for the content.
Andy "A" and Tracy "C" are the best pics IMO. the contrast, depth, and textures are everything i love about links. The others are pretty great too. Keep up the great work. Thank you!
I love the new change and I just want to compliment the images you are getting of the courses!!!! As someone from US I played some of these courses but so many I have not, and it has my wife and I trying to plan our next trip over to the best golf in the world!!!!!!
Well Andy, I am definitely loving the series name. Some of the best golf memories I have had were from golf courses that were "Off the Beaten Track". That would be a great question for your subscribers, what is your favorite off the beaten track golf adventure.
Andy, You have found your true self in these new videos. Both you and your wife are very good photographers/videographers and its hard to pick a favorite photi ad they were all outstanding! Yoh both capture the genuineness of the courses so well! Tjank you and her for your efforts and keep up the great work on your channel!!!
@@TheAverageGolfer would you say that the average weekend golfer needs a full set of. I went for a fitting the other day a Christmas present for myself the guy trying to sell me full set 4 iron up over . I ended up 6 iron to SW
Brilliant just brilliant, fantastic views, couldn't decide which photo was the best, they all where. Southerness is now on my list to play. Thanks Andy keep them coming
Loving the new 'vibe' to the channel Andy and what a stunning video of a spectacular golf course. Thought the balance between your commentary and the beautifully shot views of the course was spot-on. Tracy C just edges the photo comp. for me.
A wonderful video in your new format, filled with cinematic beauty at a truly beautiful place! So glad you have listened to your heart in your pursuit to provide all of us golf viewers with a glimpse into your soul and the soul of the game. Multidimensional poetry I’d say… And yes, my emotions were stirred. With much appreciation, best to you from California
Brings back memories of playing this with my son. We also played new Galloway and gatehouse of fleet . 2 great 9 holers . Where was the accommodation ? Looking forward to the next video.
Brilliant video Andy. As an average golfer to another average golfer it is so relatable to watch a brilliant golf break away. If you ever want to do a match versus a subscriber I play Holywell golf course quite a few times during the year I’m convinced you are better than you give yourself credit for, I’d love to give you a game!
This reminds me of your Royal Bled video from a couple of years ago I suppose. These sorts are great as they capture the golf but also the local color. Nice work
Absolutely awesome. A cinematic delight. Golf and stunning views. The perfect combo. I love this series Andy. Well done mate. These are glorious little films. ❤️
Great stuff. Tracy's got you on the pictures B or C for me! All cracking though! We've just gone onto the dreaded mats on my home course so I'm jealous hearing the ball hit the turf!
The new approach is really working, loving it. And for mine, Tracy C was my favourite photo. It looks like a lot is happening yet aril a simple shot, if that makes sense. Keep doing what you’re going Andy, I’m a fan.
Andy. Andy. Andy... I'll keep the gushing brief. These are wonderful films. The time of year, weather, and muted natural tones compliment your channel's aesthetic so well. The typography is on point and the score ties everything together so well. If I might ask, what is your background outside of golf? So pleased to see you outside the driving range booth. Please don't go back :)
I’ve followed you from meeting you at the TH-cam golf day at Formby Hall and have gone from subscribing to the average golfer club to enjoying this new series - quite a journey but consistent quality throughout
Awesome!!! I love seeing the courses that you show us!! I assume like may others my dream is to play some links courses across the pond!! What an absolute beautiful course!!! Great job Andy!!!
Your pot bunkers are brutal. Some gorgeous pictures. Glad you spared us the speedo image. Hope you did get to enjoy the hot tub. Golf in November is always a treat for us here in New Hampshire. I am recouping from hip replacement and can't wait to get back on the course. i enjoyed this as I do all your videos Andy.
I for one am loving the new format. Every video is like a documentary, 1st class all the way! It just sucks you right in, keep up the awesome work my friend.
Absolutely beautiful work, I really like your style and I so wish I could be out there on those courses instead of locked in my office. Impossible to pick a favourite picture but you can see that you have different styles and Tracy's edge the bet slightly for me, but you do have golf to focus on too trying to get two great shots 😜
I love the new format, it’s nice to watch. Hope we still get reviews and an average golfer view of golf “stuff” too. That’s what made your channel special, don’t lose that USP. The beautiful videos are amazing, if it makes you happy to produce then great, but I’d watch if was still back in a driving range too like olden days 👍🏻
Awesome video Andy, love the new feel. It’s almost no laying up esque. That 12th hole is an amazing hole, even if I did blob it when I was there 🥴. Looking forward to more of the same with regards to the videos
Andy love watching your channel, the content honestly makes me want to go out and not just play golf but enjoy the experience. Keep up the great work hopefully caddie for you on one of the cinematic adventure's.

There's another gem of a course not far from Southerners, check out Lochmaben GC, not a links so definitely at it's best in summer but it drains so well that it's still a great track all year round. For 2 years me and two friends travelled the 1hr 20 mins from central Scotland to play every Sunday, great times.
I've fond memories of Southerness myself. Great course, friendly people and a solid menu. The weather there is always just about to change!! Perhaps Silloth on the English side of the Solway Firth might feature sometime as it too is a bit special. Tracy C wins my vote.
Love it, Andy! One of the best vlogs I've ever seen and I'm looking incredibly forward to future videos! In the meantime, all the best to you and your wife! Have fun!
I enjoy the new format. The Rev. Billy Graham said that “A golf course is an island of peace in a world often full of confusion and turmoil.” Carry a half-set of clubs, enjoy being outdoors and being in control of what happens ( well sort of as this is golf).
I see a bottle of malt on the window cill Glenfarcas . Southerness , well jealous of you. One I've still to play and your comment about not loosing that joy of a good score made me chuckle ...
