I had this as a kid and watched it all the time. It also always seemed way longer too. I always thought Michael Jackson was the coolest guy in the world too when I saw the beat it clips.

I had this exact VHS tape as a kid so every so often I just come back to this
I cried when I lost my tape during Katrina but I’m happy I finally found it because the flea market doesn’t even have it
This literally could’ve just been waited for another year to be on TH-cam for the anniversary
They aired this (slightly cut for commercials) on the USA Network as a Christmas special in 1993 along with "A Chipmunk Christmas". I still have the tape. USA also had the rights for the final (1990-1991) season of the 80s-90s Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon (the Chipmunks go to the Movies one) the year after they aired the specials.
I was born in 1986 you do the math I grew up watching Alvin and the Chipmunks with Will Smith as well and other famous actors and singers this brings me back a lot of memories I'm glad that my kids are watching the same thing as I used to do
i remember my mom putting this on for me when I was a kid, back in 94, i was 4 at the time, this movie was out for 2 years or so already but man.. this hits the nostalgia and the love for the good old days ..
my mom an dad were still together , my grandparents were still alive. Book store events at school were still amazing, and being a single child but still having friends at school an everywhere i went . and that scene where the diner worker closes shop, i still rememember that distinct little 90s melody..
my heart aches cuz ill never have those days back but im forever greatful i got to live it.
I never had the real VHS tape of this, but my parents recorded it along with another program special.

This definitely made me a fan of mj and developed my interest in music production as well. I vividly remember dancing in my diapers to this vhs. I'm so lucky to have nabbed it from ebay for the cheap awhile back. I need to digitize it Pronto though.

I am 52 and I remember this... In fact someone from Bagdasarian Productions called my house and told me about this special... When my mom told me who was on the line.. My brother and I were like "Yeah right.." But it was ABSOLUTLY TRUE.... I wore out most of my copies of the tapes and the rest were lost in the flood that happened here a few years ago..... Keep it going...
