One of my main guitars. The only thing, I disliked on it, had been the pickups. Neck pickup was much too loud in comparison, I also prefer alnico pickups, so I modded the guitar to HH with PAF's and closed the middle pickup hole with a scratchplate.
With double ball ends, no string adapter and properly adjusted the most tuning stable guitar, I ever have had too.

I see that you just uploaded this video two months ago. Can I assume this Spirit is the newest version then? It seems they have switched countries of manufacture a number of times in the last few years, so I’m just trying to find a demo of the most recently made version, since I just ordered one last night.

Hi my friend, thanks for the comment. No, this guitar is not a recent production. It should be about 10 years old. I'm not sure if there have been any changes in terms of construction and quality compared to newer productions.

As far as I know, the older versions had a maple neck-through neck and maple wings (body), while the newer ones - since a few years - have basswood wings instead of maple. There also is a model with basswood wings plus quilted maple top available.
Hardware and pickups should be identical.

@@HEZ63 Thanks. Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago and it’s good. I had read a lot of people saying that the newer ones made in China were bad quality compared to the previous Spirits made in Korea, but as usual, it was just racist nonsense. My only previous experience with one was an older Korean-made Hohner G2T, but the new Spirit version seems to be a comparable quality. Only obvious difference is the Steinberger labeled pickups instead of EMG Selects, but the news ones sound good. Nice articulate tone compared to most cheaper PAF style humbuckers.

@@darwinsaye I also had a Hohner some years ago, but opposite to the usually more positive reviews I did not like it so much. A much thicker neck and a slower, less vivid attack in comparison to the Spirit. The EMG Selects did not sound so different to me than the now used unlabelled pickups, very similar or even identical, I think, as they also worked with ceramic magnets. Not so bad, but the neck pickup was too loud for my taste, in comparison the the rest. Screwing it down helps a little, but nevertheles I replaced the pickups to alnicos, as I like them more, but apart from this the guitar itself is nice, my every day working horse, so to say.
Tuning screws sometimes can clap a little, but usually I anyway tune with a screw driver and this is not so often necessary.
