Don't buy into boots by position either. Look at the EPL, there are forwards banging in goals wearing Tiempos, and goalkeepers wearing Superflys. If you like them, wear them!

My biggest boot buying mistake - I wanted to have the nemeziz since a year and that time I didn't even know that we have to buy boots according to different outsoles,. Material or style of play . So I bought a pair of those boots and when I wore them they hurt me very bad. Now I've been wearing them since 3 months . The boots have stretched a lot accomodating my foot but still give me blisters.
Unisport I have bought myself some SG boots although I only play/train on SG pitches for like 5-10 times a year. But whats good about SG boots is that I can still put FG studs on them. What do you think about that?

Great Vid! I have A question, On my travel league I play on Turf but on my Rec League I play on artificial Grass, What SolePlate is Best For Me?
The biggest mistake I made had to do with sizing. I normally wear a size 42 in most boots. The problem is that all those brands are so different with their European sizes. An Adidas boot in 42 is a 26,5 cm in Japan size. On the other hand, a 26,5 Japan size Puma boot is only a 41 in European size. I didn't know that and my first pair of Pumas had been way too big beacause of that.
So my advice is to find out what's your Japan size and always buy a new pair based on that size! It is a lot more accurate and less confusing and I can recommend that methode especially when you switch brands!
Yes, US sizing is pretty accurate too. Although I had some sizing issues with Mizunos with the US sizing system. But you are right: most online retailers give you the option to change the sizing system between European, US and UK. Because of that it is much easier to compare US sizes. You often have to do some research by yourself if you want to know the exact Japanese size of a certain boot, but I still think that the Japanese sizing is the most accurate and also the safest system to get the right fit!

Due to a wrong choice of shoes a few years ago (too small for my foot), I suffered an injury to both toenails that always give me pain, even with larger shoes, during changes of direction and shots.
Following your interesting video about choosing the right size, and following the size chart, I have a foot 27.8 cm long and 10.8 cm wide. I have been using Adidas Nova 11pro turf size uk 10 (EU 44 2/3) for several years now. I find them however heavy and huge compared to my foot. Can you recommend some shoes, always with turf sole, which can do well for me?

Just a little question... What to do if you don't like Nike cleats and love Adidas and play on AG surface. Is there any other option apart from TF (turf) shoes? I like the feeling of cleats as they give you better grip. Adidas makes conical studs on most of their shoes. Is my solution either TF or playing in FG boots and losing my warranty?

A big mistake in buying football boots which I have also done is buying the size which fits your usual shoes. Since football boots are more tight I'd recommend for everyone to buy boots which are 1 or 2 numbers bigger. My normal shoe size is 10 but my football boots are size 11,5 and they fit me perfectly. There's also plenty of free space so my legs won't hurt after the training and I don't have to buy the new ones any time soon.
