The first time I saw "Mrs. Brown's Boys" was about 10 years ago. My sisters were urging me to go to this live comedy play. I'd never heard of Mrs. Brown before and thought here we go another live show. I wasn't a big fan of live shows. I wasn't in a very good state of mind at the time but I went along just to get out and just to go through the motions, so to speak. It was in Toronto, Canada at the Princess of Wales Theatre, if I remember correctly. Well, we got there and had pretty good seats. We were sitting waiting for the show to start and a man came over the theatre intercom. He said welcome to the theatre and we hope you enjoy the show and something to the effect we hope you are all settling in your seats as the show is about to start. I thought it was the management of the theatre. He said: "In the event of a fire, you will hear this sound: OH F**K THERE'S A FIRE!!!" Well, that was it, I laughed so hard and didn't stop for the rest of the night. Ever since, I have been looking everywhere to see anything I can about Mrs. Brown. I know well, no matter what, when I watch the show, I'm guaranteed a laugh. Thank you, Brendan O'Carroll & Company for bringing laughter back into my life!
