Hi Brian, I’m enjoying the green stemmed morta I received last week. A big beefy bowl that’s a pleasure to hold, like a gearshift. What a gorgeous Dunhill Lovat! I’ll bet the stem tightens up with a smoke or two. Dunhill is a very good boy! ~Sam Watters
I still think that’s a sleeper blend, but my tin was already a couple years old when I popped it. What a kingly gift, my oh my! I’m sitting here smoking my morning pipe, a ‘62 Dunhill Lovat of Squadron Leader, admiring that White Spot quite a bit!! Have a great weekend Brother 🤘🏻
Amazing to receive such a nice pipe unexpectedly. Everything looks so beautiful there. Your yard is so nice and green. I had an experience lately with a tobacco that I didn't care for at first, but now, practically a year later, I am loving it: Daughters and Ryan Two Timer. I've really been enjoying it this week.
Great gift! My son n law is from France, he took my daughter on vacation there and went to the oldest operating pipe and tobacco shop in country and brought me a jumbo sized hand made pipe that is covered in some sort of crushed lava rock hand made by the oldest craftsman in France with a book from him all about his pipes tobacco etc written by him. Unfortunately it’s in French so no idea what it says! Same reaction
That's a helluva nice gift! I'm waiting for your Gray Ghost review. I found a 5 year old tin of it while browsing around a B&M several months ago. It quickly became one of my favorite blends and I smoked through that 2oz in record time
Good morning and Happy Saturday my friend. That is a beautiful gift. Wow! I like that run line for Dunhill. I did something similar when I had a dog, gave them a great range to run back and forth. Thanks for the warning on this blend. I'm going to sit outside myself for a bit today. I may have to light up one of those H99 Toro's, those are a great cigar. Have a good one.
Wow this is the earliest that I've caught one of your videos ! Good morning !! You know I bought a can of that tobacco the Buffalo Soldiers a long time ago !!!! Just because I like the picture on the can lol have a great day
Good Evening 😊 Good Coffee ☕ Beautiful Pipe 😍 Fabulous Gift 🎁 Thanks for the description and your thoughts on the blend 👏🏼 Have a wonderful weekend 🙏🏽 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
What a gift, Brian. Sheesh. And that would give me one heck of a guilt trip if someone sent me something so nice and I couldn't remember his name. 🤥 Weather has been crazy here too. 4 tornados in the SW Ohio area last Tuesday. Hoping that we finally get a week where it doesn't rain. Hope you have a great weekend my friend.
Very few latakia blends i like any more, only the smoothest ones ill even touch anymore. I saw they released another steamworks, i haven't opened my tin from the last run, apparently they had mold issues on the first run, wonder how they fixed it on the second.
I like rough around the edges, but mostly when that’s coming from the Burleys. Except for the Gawith dark Virginias I’m not enough of a VA fan to find a rough VA promising.
Ummm 🧐 you got a killer gift man. The dog run tether looks to work well. Now I need a birth year dunhill. A red white and blue stem. And a damn noodle press. Have a great weekend and get on the water homie!!!
How do you tighten a bit? I have a loose MM cob with an acrylic bit, and was trying to decide if I could just brush it with something to add the tiniest bit of diameter. Thanks!
Brian, as to that Toscsno blend, "Allegro," in musical parlance, means "fast," so your tearing through it must be the intended way to smoke it! As to today's C&D blend, your description of it as "rough" is right on target for too many C&D blends, in my experience. Too often it seems that they go for volume and variety instead of thought and quality. Back in the day, Rattray's had fewer than ten blends offered in the United States, all of them excellent. The same with McClelland. Though total tonnage of pipe tobacco sold in America is a tiny compared to, say, 75 years ago, the number of blends has mushroomed. Well, enough of that. When you find out who David is, if he needs another friend, I'd be happy to give him my address. Enjoy your weekend, my friend!
Wow! What a killer random gift there Brian! Awesome score. I love that shape, gotta love a lovat. Is it a group 4 of 5? 4111 or a 5111? Hope you find out who sent it. We got the same b-year for Dunhills, lol. Thanks for the heads up on that Buffalo Soldier. Sounds ruff and ready lol. The lawn is looking killer! Cheers, James
OMG Brain! Amazing gift. What a blessing for sure. I was recently gifted a 2002 unsmoked Amber Root Model 2105 Dublin. Smokes great. Does the metal insert do anything? Should I just leave it out? Have a great weekend.
Never even heard of this one! Beautiful gift, very nice!
Thanks my friend

Awesome Lovat! Cant wait to see some boating vids!
Thanks Pat I’m so ready to spread smoke out on the water baaahaaa

Yeah I passed on it this year didn’t care much for it
I like rough around the edges, but mostly when that’s coming from the Burleys. Except for the Gawith dark Virginias I’m not enough of a VA fan to find a rough VA promising.
Yeah I’m starting to like more rough stuff especially if it had dark fired
Ummm 🧐 you got a killer gift man. The dog run tether looks to work well. Now I need a birth year dunhill. A red white and blue stem. And a damn noodle press. Have a great weekend and get on the water homie!!!
Those presses work pretty good they make a solid hockey puck there cheap like $15 on amazon
Wow, great pipe! Enjoy.
Thanks buddy yes it is

What would be your “ pipe break in blend” out of curiosity?
Probably have to be HH Bold Kentucky
Pipe lawyer! Whatever happened to him I loved his videos! Have a good weekend
He just quit making vids I believe he still has some up to watch
My boats waiting as well. Too much work or weather doesn’t work out.
What kind do you have? I love being out on the water with a smoke

Yeah it almost reminds me of Haunted Bookshop it has potential but is rough hate to always have to say maybe with some age 😂
PS
Thanks for the warning I won't smoke it I'll save the can by the way who made that pipe????
I forgot the guys name but it has a M engraved on bottom

Is it for a filter or is it a stinger style ?
@@beans316 it’s a long tube that I think keeps the draft hole clean 🤷🏻♂️
Wasn't there Buffalo Soldier Plug at one point?
I’m not sure but I’ll try and find out
