- Made these Wrap Pants using an old pair of pants that i own to make a pattern.
These wrap pants are beyond cute, comfortable and easy! As in easy to make aaand easy to wear! Also so versatile might i add! So many looks in one pair of pants! Which one is your favorite?! I love them all! Ah!!
I'm definitely going to make one for myself one of these days! lol

My Story:
I'm an LA-based fashion designer. I've worked for Project Runway star/designer Michael Costello, as a Senior Designer/Project Manager for almost 6 years. I also partnered with him and Revolve on launching and creating the MichaelCostelloxREVOLVE collection for 2018 and 2019 and was responsible for producing mood/inspo boards, collaborating in all design aspects, create patterns and first samples, attending fittings, attend photo shoots, etc. Prior to our partnership with Revolve, I worked solely on Michael Costello Couture as Project Manager and played the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects whilst ensuring each project is done on time and within budget. Trust me though, it's more fun than it sounds! lol And i'm here because Corona made me do it. And i've always really loved video editing. I thought this would be a great opportunity to mix the things i love.. designing, filming the process, and video editing. I now work freelance but mostly make wedding dresses for my own clients. So why not film as i go, right? and share what i know! Makes the whole process extra challenging yet exciting! tehee.. ^_^ Join me in my journey! Let's go! ^_^

I love this video. I actually took a pattern making class last year and I’m so glad I did. Now, I can understand all the sewing lingo. You expanded my horizon on how to make my own pattern from existing clothes snd tweaking it. 🙌🏽

This video just changed my life. I was looking up patterns for wrap pants on Pinterest but having a hard time visualizing how the pattern translated to wearable pants and then @2:27 🤯 my mind is blown at how easy that is and how it all clicks now. Thank you so much!

I love this tutorial of yours!! 😍❤️ I'm someone trying to start a new fashion line of my own to which I can incorporate my art work into, but I'm COMPLETELY new to sewing, so when I was looking for a tutorial for this kinda pant style - not even knowing what exactly to call it - I somehow came across this clip and decided I won't be settling for anything less than your teaching! 😊🙏🏼 My mom will be doing all the sewing for my designs as she's been an expert at it for years now, but in the long run, I'd love to learn how to do it myself, alongside my artwork, and the depth of your explanations totally helped my beginner self to understand all that complicated drafting! My mom's my best friend when it comes to these things & also I'm soo glad & relieved that I'm pretty much a junior version of her personality (well most of it) so she's naturally the easiest person to work with coz we relate on so many levels! 🥺🙌🏻 It's also thanks to her having my back that I managed to pluck enough courage to learn how to sew as well! Sooo we're trying it out today, but we'll be using a non-stretchy material that goes well with my art designs (it's a raw kinda fabric - which idk what it's called in English & I've only heard its sinhala name coz I'm from Sri Lanka , Asia actually), also, I'll be the 'lab rat' for this 1st creation. 😂 So I'm a size medium (UK size 10 ig) with a nice & cozy tummy, 😂🙈 & don't prefer the slit to go that high as it did on your friend, so I'll be working on a more generous amount of fabric. It's gonna be challenging, ik, but let's see, if it fails, then at least I'll know what NOT to do next time when working with my choices of fabrics! 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Cheers to both of us!! 😁👍🏻

What kind of fabric did you use in this? I'm still new to sewing so still learning about fabrics.
Hi Janice! The fabric i’m using in the video is like a wrinkled satin. But you may also use regular satin or even rayon! ☺️

Hi, Yasmine! Of course! It truly is my pleasure to share what i know. 🤗🤗 okay so for your question... i would...
• Decrease the Center Front-Side measurement to half. For example, if you look at the video at 3:20 my measurement is 7 1/2”.. i’d reduce that to half which is to 3 3/4”.
• Increase the Center Back to side (check 4:00 of vid).. mine is 10” i would add the number that i took out from the front which is 3 3/4” so it will then be 13 3/4” for my full back pant. I can even add another 1” Bec now that the front pant will only cover you 3 3/4”from your Center Front there’s that risk of exposure 🙈.. i would probably add another 1” or 2”? hehe..

Also, definitely try making a sample first and try to dance and sit in it so you get a better idea of how much exposure you want and if you like the design ☺️ as i am estimating these numbers in my head. 😆 but it should work! Hehe

Hi Riza! This one is a frosted satin. But you can use any lightweight satin or perhaps like a cotton/rayon blend that is soft and flowy like satin ☺️
