And they don't use green screen (except one time in Whistle) either so you can imagine how expensive their videos are lol. They are the number one subscribed to music artist on TH-cam.
Whistle is their most aesthetically pleasing MV. The color scheme, colour contrast was everything. I wish they don't just focus out on having big prop and set. I think they can do just fine without big budget. They can use green screen but the most important is having a good director and editor( I like skz and itzy director and editor) they can even film outside like in the street or beach. It would be cool and refreshing change from their usual indoor set.

My biggest mistake with KPop was that I assumed for YEARS it was just pop. When I first heard BlackPink a year ago and saw they included Rap & EDM, I was in SHOCK. It opened my eyes to the genre!
Yeah the “pop” in K-Pop is meant to mean “popular”. So despite the name is just a generalized category and not a specific genre. But since pop, is usually a genre, it’s natural to assume that’s what it means too.

Next Lisa references Rhianna's "Pon de Replay" with "One by one then two by two" and also 50 Cent's P.I.M.P. with "you couldn't get a dollar outta me". Rosé and Jisoo both reference Taylor Swift with "look what you made us do". Finally, the Jennie/Lisa rap verse is backed by a sample of Ice Cube/Easy-E's part of "Gangster Gangster" by N.W.A. They(Teddy and the girls) definitely weren't shy about shouting out their inspirations/favorite artists in this song.

As for Bts, I'm actually the biggest fan of theirs 😂 But it's their messages in their songs that got me. and also where they come from and how hard they work to get to where they are now. Honestly, I liked Bts as a person more altho their musics are 🔥 too in my opinion. They are honestly very genuine human beings. Someone that are worth looking up to. Bts is different just for a fact that they don't come from a big company like Blackpink which means they really really worked hard to get to this point. In kpop, Blackpink company, YG is privileged, they have power over broadcast. But, don't get me wrong Blackpink still work hard and have insane talents too. All of the kpop artist work hard since young and all of them are talented. I understand especially for non-kpop fans, it feels odd to enjoy kpop cuz obviously it's different sooo different. and blackpink especially their new songs are influenced a lot by western style of music compared to other kpop group. Maybe that's why you specifically like them cuz it's different but also familiar. Blackpink songs are mad good but Bts songs are meaningful. Doesn't matter who is better cuz honestly both of the group did so well. You have no idea how different it is kpop 12 years ago and now. Kpop were good since I remember 12 years ago but only Bts and Blackpink are successful to win the heart of the western. and my tips on how to enjoy kpop is to stop having a specific expectation on what is good because a lot of things can be good if only you give it a chance.

You should take a look at their previous work as well. Their previous big comeback was ‘How You Like That’ but they release all hits, they have a lot, they debuted a while back. And solo releases are big hits also, that’s what’s been out between this release and their previous group release. Radio is a b!tch when it comes to songs with Korean in them, it's very difficult to get them played and it's even harder for them to be played consistently. That's why if you ever hear a kpop artist on the radio more than likely it's a fully English song. This also affects how kpop songs chart in the US because so much of charting is dependent on radio.
Yes that's bts's dynamite and butter got famous cuz they were in English but Blackpink never forgets their korean
Actually on their last album, out of 8 songs, 4 were in full english (Crazy Over You, Love to Hate Me, Bet You Wanna and, except one rap verse, Ice Cream)

Western audiences aren't very open to music with high Korean content. Neither BTS's Dynamite nor Butter would not have played on Western radio if they were sung in Korean. It's encouraging to know that producers are trying to change this. Aespa in the Macy's parade, BP on this weeks VMA's, are hopeful signs that we eventually will catch up to the rest of the world and open our ears.
