I love playing this song. Lately I've been working on Tornado of Souls. I can do everything but the solo at 85%. Don't know if I'll ever get that solo down.
How is it underappreciated when it's one of their most well known songs and everyone loves it? I've seen many people who say Cryptic Writings is awful but this song is great. What a disservice to songs like Vortex :(

Would have been spectacular if you palm-muted the E notes in between the chords in the verse and the A notes that lead up to the solo. But a solid job.

'...if you palm-muted *with more pressure, it would have sounded much better and closer to the original, most specifically in the bridge; measure 116-118 after the G note 1/3 bend into the A power chord. After the A power chord there are 22 hits of a palm-muted A note that you play, your palm-muting is light then gets heavier when you hit the 15th P.M. A note, and stays that way til you let the A power chord ring out in the Rest of measure 119.* But a solid job." Like I said, solid job on the cover, dude. Dave has a heavy right hand when it comes to palm-muting, and I tend to be a bit critical when it comes to players that know their instruments. In no way was I trying to knock you down on this cover because you are a great player and I'm not that type of person. If that's how you took it, then I apologize for not making my comment more clear from the start.
I can appreciate the attention to detail you have. I've always been light with my muting. I can get more dynamics by lightening it, or going my heavy handed. Though I will say this is oddly nitpicky for a Rocksmith play through. I don't even practice these songs. I'm playing it straight up guitar hero style, its not meant to be perfect
