He made a table by the kitchen walls so he can eat with his family. He even patches the cracks on the walls in order to keep the house from being torn apart. The fact that everyone views him as evil is just depressing.
Some of Bruno's "weird" behavior is actually because he's really superstitious: knocking on wood, throwing salt over his shoulder, avoiding cracks in the floor are all ways to avoid bad luck, which makes sense since he thinks his visions bring bad luck.
Also the little “sana sana colita de rana” that he whispered, its a little song mexican (and colombian too apparently, i didnt know that) parents sing to their children after they get injured so they can heal faster

I think Brunos chaotic and awkward nature is what makes us all love him so much. He's also just an amazing character, who even when he felt he had to leave, he couldn't fully leave his family behind. He was literally vibing to We Don't Talk About Bruno during Dolores' part, and he came out on the horse thinking that Abuela was mad at Mirabel and telling her that he told her to do some of the stuff. He's such a lovable character despite how he doesn't have much screen time.
i love how mirabel is seeing her uncle for the first time and they just had this whole thing where she thought he died and then he just looks at her, dead in the face for a few seconds; no emotion, no “oh my god this is my niece that i haven’t seen for ten years” he just goes “bye” kills me every time bro💀

I really like that Bruno doesn’t like his gift even though he’s good at it, and he actually wants to pursue acting even though he’s not naturally good at it. It’s like when people are AMAZINGLY talented at stuff they don’t actually care about, but instead of pursue the easy route they don’t like they go for something they have a passion for and have to work hard at. It’s a nice little message
That makes me think... I find the one who acts the most like Bruno is his nephew Camilo. What if Bruno actually got Camilo's gift? He'd be always having a whale of a time instead of having to carry the weight of people's future.

Considering he has been avoiding his powers for a long while now I wouldn't be surprised if he has issues identifying what's going on. Then again prophecy is 70% interpretation and 30% actually looking at the future.
I can see why no one talks about Bruno. He can predict the bad stuff that happens in the future. But you can’t deny his charm and his personality. I’m glad he’s not the antagonist. In fact, this movie doesn’t need an antagonist.
I think the predictions that the movie shows us (like the dead fish, the fat, the priest's hair and even Dolores' platonic love) are things that could even have been avoided if people tried to change their future... but instead they sat waiting for their fate to be fulfilled and blamed bruno afterwards 💁♀️ he's a sweet pie who saw the future, but was up to you to change your fate or hope for the worst 🤷♀️
Best part is that Felix isn't even out-of character there. Even in the song he was still supportive of Bruno like in his lyric "what a joyous day but anyway", its nice to see both Felix and Dolores being supportive of Bruno while the rest of the family tries to paint him out as a bad person (camillo and townsfolk) or a bad omen (pepa)

I’m Canadian and I grew up with knocking on wood for luck in pretty much the same way (but I usually do it after I’m worried i just jinxed myself by saying something lol), but where I’m from you’re supposed to throw salt over your shoulder after you’ve just spilled some of it (because that’s bad luck), and kids learn the rhyme “step on a crack, break your mothers back” for reasons I couldn’t explain if I tried 😆. Alignment wise, he is more neutral good. Chaotic good characters will always try and defend what is right by challenging the status quo. He only became that and confronted Abuela at the end of the movie.

Ok but there is the thing, most of the “random” things he did where actually little lucky charm rituals to bring good luck or to stop bad luck. For example, in Colombia when someone says that something bad can happen we say “touch wood” or we actually knock on something that is made out of wood to keep that from happening. HE BASICALLY FELT LIKE HE BROUGHT BAD LUCK SO THATS WHY HE KEEP DOING ALL THE LITTLE THINGS. From throwing the sand, from not stepping on cracks, crossing his fingers, knocking on wood, etc.
I think most of these have expanded to other cultures (for example I do the knocking on wood thing all the time and I’m French), but it’s cool they have a connection to the movie’s cultural background too. I can tell the team behind Encanto tried so hard to include details like this and I think that’s neat.
When Mirabel lost focus of the mission and he had to raise his voice and then was “🥺sorry sorry sorry🥺” my heart just shattered. He knows how much garbage she deals with and just needed her attention but wasn’t about to yell at her😅

Just wanted to point out in case someone doesn't know, at 0:54 when he is "vibing in his own universe" he is actually avoiding cracks on the floor because of bad luck, we have a lot of superstitions here in Colombia, that's also the reason he knocks on wood, throw salt over his shoulder and other weird things lol

I’m Canadian and I grew up with knocking on wood for luck in pretty much the same way (but I usually do it after I’m worried i just jinxed myself by saying something lol), but where I’m from you’re supposed to throw salt over your shoulder after you’ve just spilled some of it (because that’s bad luck), and kids learn the rhyme “step on a crack, break your mothers back” for reasons I couldn’t explain if I tried 😆. I didn’t think places shared similar superstitions like that but that’s interesting.

Ok but there is the thing, most of the “random” things he did where actually little lucky charm rituals to bring good luck or to stop bad luck. For example, in Colombia when someone says that something bad can happen we say “touch wood” or we actually knock on something that is made out of wood to keep that from happening. HE BASICALLY FELT LIKE HE BROUGHT BAD LUCK SO THATS WHY HE KEEP DOING ALL THE LITTLE THINGS. From throwing the sand, from not stepping on cracks, crossing his fingers, knocking on wood, etc.
I think most of these have expanded to other cultures (for example I do the knocking on wood thing all the time and I’m French), but it’s cool they have a connection to the movie’s cultural background too. I can tell the team behind Encanto tried so hard to include details like this and I think that’s neat.
