Not really because the sound proofing of the cars is great and especially if you are not in the head car where the bell is ringing. Which is only required on part of the route.
Not surprising. I remember when the UP North was practically shut down because someone who expected the train to stop darted across the tracks at Wilmette and got hit (it was an express train). Sad, but not uncommon. Come on, people! Just be patient! Two minutes are not worth your life. Gotta be more responsible than that! Of course, I'm the person that always waits until the lights stop flashing and the gates are completely up before crossing.
Nothing like a "walking-speed" train to make your day. And then he has to stop to let the crossing gates come down? They ought to turn this branch into a light rail service to get to wherever it connects to the main line.
Nice. Never taken the Auto Show express, but I have been on that line twice, but only outbound and from Pullman to Blue Island (well, the Blue Island branch, that is. Been on the South Chicago and University Park branches numerous times)
Yea the Metra Electric Blue Island branch terminates there in Blue Island and the Metra Rock Island line passes through there with it’s station just west of the electric terminal station.
Awesome video!!!!
I would love to watch these videos of cab rides in US cities, but I can't stand the bell. It must drive the commuters crazy!
It can get annoying if you sit at the front.
It is required because a large portion of the tracks are not fenced
Not really
You don’t notice it. The front facing window is directly under the bell, everywhere else in the train is quiet

3:06 wow
I saw that happen too at the same location but it was with a girl and the train was heading the other direction

Darwinner nominee.

Yeah, this was painfully slow for an electric MU consist. South Chicago looks to be just as bad.
@@F40PH-2CAT I noticed how lonely and isolated the metra electric is. most of these stations are practically wood sheds
That bell isnt the slightest bit annoying... lol good video as always
Wish we still had auto shows where I live :'(
Nice video!

Interesting there is both diesel and electric service at the initial departure point.

вначале видоса поезд идёт задом вперёд
