Your toddler will hear all the time that mama is taking care of the baby and they need to wait. My sister is a mom of 7 and taught me to do the opposite some times, even though baby doesn’t understand. I would put her in her bouncy seat or swing and say “okay baby you sit there! Mama is going to play with sister for a minute.” And it always made my older girl feel so good😊
My oldest son was 2 and a half when his little brother was born and a few months before I gave birth I bought him a baby doll with diapers and a bottle and I showed him how to hold a baby and being gentle. Also, I always said OUR baby so he was aware the new baby was a part of our family. They also have tons of “big brother” books you can read every night etc, we also bought a big brother present for him when the baby was born so he felt special and included. I know you’re going to be exhausted but let Oliver “help” as much as possible when baby comes. He can bring you diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifiers, blankets etc ❤

If it would fit , I’d buy another bookshelf to fill that wall, my opinion,it would look better , I love how your dining room and living room is turning out 💖💖
I was thinking the same thing and try to close the gap and if possible anchor to the wall. I have three Ikea Billy bookshelf on a wall in my house and think 3 in this space would look great.
You could always cut a hole in the back of the bottom of the book case, and put your router into it. That way it will sit flush against your wall.😊
We did a toy rotation AND a book rotation and it worked so well. When MK would ask about a toy or a book I would tell her that it was on “vacation” and then she would be so excited when it came back from vacation LOL it definitely made excited about the toys that we had on current rotation

Hi Lauren.
How do you feel about moving your large vase with the flowers that was on your dining room table and seeing how it would look on top of your dining room hutch where the brown basket is. It would add height and dimension and bring your eyes up. You could also center it on the new gray bookshelves in your living room.

I had my second child when my oldest was 5, he came with me to see his baby brother. My ex deployed right before we had him. His command tried to have him leave later but due to his r and position within the command he couldn’t be there. I used to have my oldest help me with simple things, and once his brother went for a nap I would spend time with him. He’d help me by watching his brother or entertaining him so I could clean. My boys were 16 and 12 when my daughter was born so by then they understood baby needs attention. They are great big brothers and love their sister. My mom babysits when I go do things with the two boys. Usually a movie. I am currently out of town for my oldest son’s graduation. So I missed it Friday and am watch this on Sunday. Have a great vacation.

My kids got slime in the rug - I poured vinegar on it and it came right out!! It like melts the slime and makes it super easy to remove!

Maybe get Ollie a baby doll with a little bassinet to show him how small (approx.) Annie Kate will be and how you’re gonna be holding her when she cries, etc. You can also mimic/show him how to be gentle with the baby doll so he’s gentle with his sister and have him kiss the doll on the forehead (if that’s something you’ll have him do with Annie Kate when she gets here). You can even show him how you’ll feed/change the new baby using the baby doll. Maybe practice having him get you a diaper for the doll (and then his sister when she’s here) - I think if he’s involved in the whole process, even if it’s just for little things, he will understand it better and be more receptive to the change/transition.

Lysol rust & lime stool cleaner will work to keep your stains away also. Just let it sit for few minutes, then scrub your stool, & the hard water ring will be gone. Enjoy watching your videos 🙂
When our children met each other we would purchase a toy that we knew they wanted and then the new baby would give them the toy the first time they met. In our case it made them feel that they were still important and that the baby was happy to meet them. We also kept our eye on it but the older children were asked to help with the baby, it built their confidence that they were helpful and very much needed.
The clothes for Oliver is so cute . Love your dresses you got . I have the same Lysol cleaner you do it smells so good . I use in my bathroom and kitchen counters . Love your cleaning videos Lauren. Have a good weekend.
You could try a dark gray or black peel and stick wallpaper on the backside of Bookshelves. Inside if that makes sense.

Take your son out to buy a special little teddy(soft toy) that he chooses for her that 'keeps her safe' or something similar. Then get him a little present from her. I did this with my 2 my daughter had a unicorn dress that she received, she asked how her brother chose it , i said that when i was looking at dresses for her id tell him and he gave me a little kick when i spoke about that dress.

Id get a third bookcase to fill the entire wall and screw them together to pull them flush to each other so theres no gap at the top it will look more like a built in 😊

I absolutely loved the jute rug. The material and color were perfect! It's so natural and looked cozy. I just thought it was a little too small. I really loved the olive tree in the corner of the dining room!!! The smaller plant looks nice on the table. I loved the flowers you have in the big pot, but they just needed to be in a smaller pot on the table. Your book shelves look amazing too!! It's all coming together!

I just had our second boy about a month ago. We got all the baby stuff (swing, bassinet etc.) out about a month before he was here so we could show him that is where baby will sleep and to get him familiar with all the new stuff so there wasn’t so much change all at once. We also got our oldest a gift from baby so when we got home from the hospital he had something special and exciting to open. Overall he did good! The first two weeks were the hardest for him to adjust but he is doing great now and loves his baby brother! He is 2 years old for reference. Hope this helps! I love your videos!
For our son whilst we were getting ready for the arrival of his sister we put him in charge of the diaper box. We asked him what she would need to have her diaper changed and because he was just out of diapers he remembered and helped fill the box. When she was born every time his sister cried he would drag the diaper box to me. It was so sweet

Does he have a baby doll? You could get him a little stroller and baby to start "taking care of". Then while you are feeding the baby, changing, etc, he can do that with his baby too.

So glad you got rid of the plant in the kitchen, I felt all along its been way too big for the kitchen table, both the old one and the new one. I hate to tell you but I think it’s too big for the bathroom too. Maybe on top of one of the bookshelves or on top of the dining room hutch, it’s just too big for a countertop, in my opinion. One of your olive trees would look beautiful in it Love the new dining table!

Great cleaning video!!! The flower arrangement looks great in your bathroom and the plant is perfect for your dining table. Not sure if you have the space but a third bookshelf would look great. Also, you could make them look like one unit with some nice trim on them. They do give you good storage space and they look great decorated.

I have a vacation this summer. No schedule during vacation and just wake up each morning and do whatever! 🌻 So happy for you and your family having a beach vacation before baby Annie Kate arrives 🌻 Such cute items for Oliver! 🌻 such CUTE dresses for you Lauren!! 🌻 Cute baby bump!! 🎀 Shein has cute clothes but not a great return policy. So were your dresses sizes true to size of what you ordered? 🌻 I like the bookshelves 🌻when she is born and Oliver comes to see her at the hospital, have a gift for Oliver to open from the baby. 🌻 I was getting the Lysol bleach disks for the toilet tank. They work great but I was afraid the bleach would “eat” through the toilet tank parts over time so I am going back to a pumice stone as well. 🌻
Thank you!! Shein dress was 100% true to size perfect fit! I was very impressed. I did return a swimsuit there recently and didn’t have trouble. I haven’t tried to return anything else there.

Check with your hospital, my mom had be attend a “Big sister “ class before my baby sister was born. I got to learn how to do things with her, hold her and how to changer a diaper. I was 5 at the time. 🩷🤩
