I remember when this album came out. I bought if for my mom for Christmas. We had been to the Graceland concert, and loved Ladysmith Black Mambazo, so it was an obvious gift. Yet no one in my family really listened to country, so we were somewhat surprised to see Dolly Parton singing one song on the album. Naturally, curiosity took over and we played this song first. We were blown away, and I gained a true respect for Dolly Parton. I've seen Ladysmith Black Mambazo twice more in concert, and both were amazing shows. RIP Joseph Shabalala
@@gideonboagontshonyane5473 The album was "Heavenly". I got it when it first came out on CD in 1997, so unfortunately I have no idea where to buy a copy now. Good luck, it's worth the effort. Fantastic album.
This is the second of two collaborations. The first was when Dolly Parton was preparing to record some of her favorite songs for an album called Treasures. She contacted LBM to sing with her on Peace Train. They also appeared on her 1996 TV special also called Treasures. You need to hear it. It was a very special performance. But beware when looking for Peace Train by Dolly, since more than one or two fans did remixes that turned it into what sounded like a techno dance mix. I'm sure Dolly never intended that. Her original recording was beautiful and heartfelt. (She's a big fan of Cat Stevens and even tried to get him to come record with her when she later recorded Where Do The Children Play?) His Islamic name which is something like Yusef Islam was on a terrorist watch list cause someone else had the same name. He later wrote a song about it called Boots and Sand and had Dolly Parton and Paul McCartney record some of the words spoken to him by the airport security screeners. He wrote songs of peace and was treated like a terrorist!
