Subscribed to this channel! Our Vedas need to be spread as much as possible! I chant the 8th anuvaka daily and full Rudram on Mondays & Saturdays. I have not learnt under a guru but I have learnt it by virtue of listening to audiotapes & my father & also attending Mahashivaratri paaraayanams. However, if you can, please tell if varying speeds will cause any harm because sometimes speed & volume decreases or increases and i don't want to displease Lord Rudra or make him think I am not sincere.
Dear Ram, Your innocent pure love towards lord Śiva touches the heart. All it matters is this prema bhakti, this love towards God. Just keep doing whatever you were doing. At the same time, it's always good to learn from an adept teacher. It pleases the Lord even more. May Lord Śiva bless you all abundantly.
Dear Jitesh Singh, As we have mentioned at 17:15, Sri Rudram that's in the stotra form can be recited by anybody who has devotion to Lord Shiva. But that's which is in the mantra form that is from the Veda, there are some considerations. For that, only a Guru from the Vedic Parampara has got the right to decide, initiate(upanayan), and guide upon the Vedic learnings. So, Yes. To Recite Vedic Mantra, Upanayanam is necessary. But, both Stotra and Mantra gives the same result. Devotion is the Key. May Lord Shiva Bless you all.
@@Mahastro Namaskaram, you are providing great and unique information at this very platform, may you receive atmost grace of the lord. As you told upnayan sanskaram and a guru is very important for guided learning of the great sri rudram but i belongs to moder city of north india(Amritsar) where these things are taught very less, and very few have some knowledge about it . I used to listen every monday morning bw 4 to 6 (am) 8,9 months ago but after some months, I started listing this very great mantra during 5 to 6 pm evening everyday and Now i have learned this about 70-75 percent in a good pronunciation and tuned swaras of this by having grace of supreme lord, Both (Namakam and chamakam) . I just want to know are there mistakes am doing or sining everyday by recieting it.I am a brahmin and I love to recite powerful vedic mantras. Plz provide some more information regarding it, love your content ,
Dear Vaibhav Sai, Firstly, it's only sheer grace of Lord shiva that one gets attraction towards worshipping Him. In that sense, you have His complete blessings and that's why you are attracted towards reciting this great Vedic Hymn. Secondly, especially in your case, don't bother much regarding not learning from a guru and sinning and all that since it's only because of the situation of not finding a proper Guru. Also, you may continue learning the same way as you are doing now. But please make sure, you somehow find a proper guru, and learn from Him again formally. This is particularly important for the actual mantra to give you its full effect and correct the mistakes of recitation. Also, don't forget, you must give Guru Dakshina (Fees) whatever your guru really gets pleased with. With Lord's grace and Guru's blessings, everything will happen best for you.

Dear bhavesh raj soni, Whether you are a brahmin or a Vaishya, the first and foremost step to recite any Vedic mantra is to get initiated. This is called saṃskārā. It is more of like making your physical body fit to receive the Vedic mantra and make use of it. This is "The traditional way". The rishi's who gave those Vedic mantras gave these saṃskārā and asked us to perform these saṃskārās. upanayana is one of them. We have many saṃskārās for many stages in our life like garbhādhānā, pumsavanā, jātakarma (conception, birth of a child, etc..). These saṃskārā make one fit for that act and makes him fit to receive the intended result that are unseen to the naked eye. Otherwise called "adhrista". All are interlinked. Even if you are brahmin, one has to undergo the ritualistic saṃskārā given by the rishis to get proper result. You may ask why not recite mantras without saṃskārā(initiation). You may go on to recite the mantras without saṃskārā. No comments for that :). But if you ask what's our take on this. We just share here is "what actually the shastra says, its tradition and its secret". Not to correct everybody. The right will learn it right. To understand better, it's more of like, why not drive a bike without driving license. You can, but without proper training it is not safe. Even if you are safe and skilled, the authorities wouldn't approve you driving. And also, it doesn't appeal right to the righteous. This driving example is given just to give you an idea. Certainly, it is not as easy as driving a bike. :) Also, since you are a vaishya, you can still find some knowledgeable guru to get yourself initiated and start learning the mantras. But, if your intention is to please Lord shiva, you can always praise the lord with shatarudrīya stotras that we have already shared that you can recite without any initiation. That also gives the same effect which are approved by the rishis. May Lord shiva bless you all.
www.mahastro.com/sri-rudram-namakam-chamakam-rudri-path-greatness-importance-and-benefits-from-all-itihasa-puranas/ Go to that page and find the stotram at the bottom of that page.. choose any one that you like. God bless you dear. May the best happen to you lord Shiva's Grace.
Dear Krishnakumari Lakshmanarao, Definitely, all can recite the 'Stotra versions' which we have provided on our website. Choose your preferred language. Also, all can listen to the Vedic Sri Rudra Prashna 'Mantra version'. But to recite the mantra, one needs to get initiated and taught by an adept guru. May Lord Śiva bless you.
Shri Rudham is precious, but we must visualise the Shiva linga and repeat the Rudham. Swami says as follows "the linga is a symbol of the universal into which all particulars merge and from which all particulars emerge. The linga is an elipse without beginning and end and the full form of reality" Shankara/Shiva never destroys but only merges and emerges. We must stop using English concepts to explain the Hindu religion. Shiva is not a destroyer , but one where all in the universe merges and emerges.
Dear SirChad, A very little effort to search in any original and complete Mahabharata version would have helped you to find this section. It actually takes place in the "Drona Parva", chapter 203(Nārāyanāstra Môksha parvā), verse 3 in M.N.Dutt Version. Including the actual verse for your reference with English translation. दृष्टवा सुमहदा्चर्यमात्मनो विजयावहम् यदृच्छयाऽऽगतं व्यासं पप्रच्छ भरतर्षभ।। ३॥ Beholding a wonderful sight indicative of his victory, questioned, O foremost of the Bharatas, the mighty sage Vyasa who had gone there at his own pleasure. Now, if you see the second line of the verse, it says, यदृच्छयाऽऽगतं व्यासं - yadrucchayā āgataṃ vyāsam means ' Vyasa who appeared on his own '. Hope this clarifies your doubt. But thanks for your question, It gives us a chance to explain to our viewers that we don't share non-sensical stuff on our channel. In fact, your effort to claim the content is a lie is also fair in a sense, as there are many bogus kinds of stuff that are getting published on the web these days. But our's are genuine. We try our best to share proper and best content with all our viewers. And if there are genuine mistakes found, we would certainly correct them. Thank you for your feedback and may God bless you in your truth-seeking.
Dear SirChad, We've no intention to convince or prove anybody wrong. It's totally up to the individual to find what is truth and reject what is wrong. But still, we are curious to know which version of "The Complete Mahabharata" that you are talking about. Please do share with us. It would be really helpful for many if there is a "complete version" that surprisingly misses this section. As far as we know, all the complete versions of Mahabharata that are extant to date, do have this section without exception as listed below. 1) In the first-ever complete 'Mahabharata' English translation made by 'Kisari Mohan Ganguli' version has this in chapter 202. Find the translation below. "...the son of Kunti beholding a wonderful phenomenon in connection with his own victory, asked Vyasa, O bull of Bharata's race, who came thither in course of his wanderings,..." 2) And all the other version that follows this one like "The Complete Mahabharata" by Ramesh Menon by Rupa publication. This occurs in the Ch-198, Here is the translation snippet : "... Arjuna, who saw something wonderful during the great battle, asks his grandsire Vyasa, who arrives in Kurukshetra during his wanderings ..." OR, 3) the M.N.DUTT Version published by Parimal Publications which has already been quoted in our previous comment. 4) OR, the most controversial stripped-down version claiming itself to be the actual and complete Mahabharata -BORI version of Mahabharata, (Which is not by the way) also has this section in Ch-173 of Drona prava. If you find this one to be a lie, it's totally your call. what can we say? Best Regards.
@@Mahastro I guess you don't realize that when something says the complete version it means that some sect or cult added things to it to promote what they believe. Therefore only the oldest incomplete version is the truth. I'm sorry but that is just how history works.
Dear SirChad, That is what exactly the question is? Which is the oldest incomplete truth version that you are talking about? You started this conversation by stating that this video is a lie. You should have contested this having some version of Mahabharata as the Base. If you could share which version, it would help everybody. If not, let us stop this right here. You may believe what is right for you and those who faithfully follow the tradition would do as they feel. May God guide us all in the right path. OM.

Dear Ram,
Your innocent pure love towards lord Śiva touches the heart. All it matters is this prema bhakti, this love towards God. Just keep doing whatever you were doing. At the same time, it's always good to learn from an adept teacher. It pleases the Lord even more.
May Lord Śiva bless you all abundantly.
Who can chant rudram, upnayan is necessary?
Dear Jitesh Singh,
As we have mentioned at 17:15, Sri Rudram that's in the stotra form can be recited by anybody who has devotion to Lord Shiva.
Plz provide some more information regarding it, love your content ,
Dear Vaibhav Sai,
Firstly, it's only sheer grace of Lord shiva that one gets attraction towards worshipping Him.
@@Mahastro Thank you for reiterating this (and thank you Jitesh ji for raising this point). Sir, can you provide a link to the Rudram in stotra form? Or have you done it? Will be happy to follow that. I ask becasue there are available what are generically called Sri Rudram. Since I cannot tell between the Shatarudriya (hence the stotram form?) and the mantra form, your guidance will help greatly,
Dear B E,
You may check the link below and browse to the last section to find 'Sri Rudram' in stotra form.

I m not brahmin and not wear yagyopavitam. I m vaishya and pure vegetarian can i chant sri rudram daily or weekly at my home in pooja.
Dear bhavesh raj soni,
Whether you are a brahmin or a Vaishya, the first and foremost step to recite any Vedic mantra is to get initiated.
Also, since you are a vaishya, you can still find some knowledgeable guru to get yourself initiated and start learning the mantras.
But, if your intention is to please Lord shiva, you can always praise the lord with shatarudrīya stotras that we have already shared that you can recite without any initiation. That also gives the same effect which are approved by the rishis.
May Lord shiva bless you all.

God bless you dear. May the best happen to you lord Shiva's Grace.
Can woman recite this or at least listen to…..
Dear Krishnakumari Lakshmanarao,
Definitely, all can recite the 'Stotra versions' which we have provided on our website.
The very first thing is Vyasa appearing to Arjuna.
That is not in the Mahabharata.
This video is a lie.
Dear SirChad,
A very little effort to search in any original and complete Mahabharata version would have helped you to find this section.
It actually takes place in the "Drona Parva", chapter 203(Nārāyanāstra Môksha parvā), verse 3 in M.N.Dutt Version.
Including the actual verse for your reference with English translation.
दृष्टवा सुमहदा्चर्यमात्मनो विजयावहम्
यदृच्छयाऽऽगतं व्यासं पप्रच्छ भरतर्षभ।। ३॥
Beholding a wonderful sight indicative of
his victory, questioned, O foremost of the
Bharatas, the mighty sage Vyasa who had gone
there at his own pleasure.
@@Mahastro like I said it isn't in the Mahabharata. It is placed there in some versions.
More lies is not going to convince me or prove me wrong.
Dear SirChad,
We've no intention to convince or prove anybody wrong.
"...the son of Kunti beholding a wonderful phenomenon in connection with his
own victory, asked Vyasa, O bull of Bharata's race, who came thither in course of his wanderings,..."
2) And all the other version that follows this one like "The Complete Mahabharata" by Ramesh Menon by Rupa publication. This occurs in the Ch-198, Here is the translation snippet :
"... Arjuna, who saw something wonderful during the great battle, asks his grandsire Vyasa, who arrives in Kurukshetra during his wanderings ..."
OR,
3) the M.N.DUTT Version published by Parimal Publications which has already been quoted in our previous comment.
@@Mahastro
I guess you don't realize that when something says the complete version it means that some sect or cult added things to it to promote what they believe. Therefore only the oldest incomplete version is the truth. I'm sorry but that is just how history works.
Dear SirChad,
That is what exactly the question is? Which is the oldest incomplete truth version that you are talking about?
You started this conversation by stating that this video is a lie. You should have contested this having some version of Mahabharata as the Base.
If you could share which version, it would help everybody.
If not, let us stop this right here. You may believe what is right for you and those who faithfully follow the tradition would do as they feel.
May God guide us all in the right path. OM.
That's all fake and added in later periods. The same yajur veda said clearly that narayana is purusha.

Ultimately Narayana and Rudra are one and the same .. Rudram itself Namo Rudraya Vishnava Mritur me pahi

Not Rama रामा, say राम
Not Krishna कृष्णा , say कृष्ण
Not mantra, say मंत्र
Please 🙏otherwise meaning changes.
Namaste .. humbly it is Rama , Krishna and Mantra in Samskritam .. in Hindi it became Ram,Krishna and Mantr .. it is supposed to be chanted in the original form..
