Such a great history of Philadelphia!
Thank you Richard Allen!
What an awesome presentation celebrating Richard Allen....He was an exemplary man with faith and conviction to bring the African American to a greater self worth and connection to Jesus Christ. THANKS
What a powerful story, I am grateful for this man and his wife's determination, Love for God and Faith, to keep going no matter what the cost. Thank you for posting this very important part of the AA history. Peace and Blessings.
A great example of faith and persistence! May his soul rest in peace.
Still waiting for PBS American Experience to do a documentary on him. He's American history not just black history.
Can't wait to use this for my presentation at Galilee Baptist Church!

We of the African Methodist Episcopal church, stand firmly and proudly on the shoulders of our brave, fearless, spiritual giants with honor and respect.
A very powerful and accurate statement. Well done madame.
Wow! I am so thrilled. I was raised in AME Church and I was ordained in as an evangelist at the age of 11, I remember I once walked more than 105km from my home district to another district in my tender age just to attend an annual conference. Today have learnt much more from this video which I couldn't in my tenderly age.
Awesome. Thank you so much. I am sharing this with my students!
No one will believe me but he’s my great great great great great great great great grandfather
so helpful to the everyday life
Wonderful and informative. Thank you for sharing.

Good mini documentary
AWESOMENESS
Amazing that they had to purchase their own freedom.
I can also agree wit the below comments on this figure. Since this is one of those characters in history you hardly ever hear about. Being a minority group in the past isn't great nor pretty.
nice

It sucks we had to be on the front lines of a epidemic only to still be blamed for theft.

how important was the African Methodist Episcopal Church for Ethiopianism as a movement?
Richard Allen he was very educated strong hearted black man.
What school did he attend?
@@dehaven46self educated
@@vernonrobinson1685 let's be honest and let's be adults how can one teach themselves something that they don't know?
@dehaven46
1. Probably because by the time he hit his teens( ie 14-15) he was already a devout Methodist, and would have wanted to read the Bible he was already familiar with.
3. Self education was common during the Revolutionary War Era, as no less than Ben Franklin was self taught.
@@vernonrobinson1685 you coming equals to faith You're trusting that what's in the book is true! But reality begs to different 👍🏿 these people had to be educated but being uneducated is more dramatic I guess 🤦🏾♂️
I like the video, however I am AME and my research shows Richard and his family was sold together. I am putting together membership training and I want to be accurate with the information. Where is that information noted.
I didn’t know the history of AME church, but it’s very cool.
How was the educated I don't know how that was left out of this video but yeah how?
So, who came up with AME,the African part,
when he born in America?
Looks nothing like Bridge Guy. Not even the same skin color.
