I am DOUBTFUL ABOUT PRC OATHTAKING CEREMONY WHICH I THINK IS NOT ACTUALLY NEEDED, particularly for the poor young professionals and their poverty-stricken or money-troubled parents residing in the far-flung inter-island villages, provinces or towns in the countryside like us to travel to Metro Manila for the costs involves such as the few days of the board and lodging, the public transport commute fares, food, and the tickets via sea vessel back and forth, etc.
Oathtaking ceremonies may seem unnecessary, but the PRC requires newly licensed professionals to take their oath. However, regarding whether young professionals should be required to attend the ceremony, I don’t think it is necessary. The requirement is simply to take the oath, and the PRC offers multiple options for those unable to attend these ceremonies. For instance, there is the option of e-oath taking (if still available) or "special oath-taking" events arranged by PRC offices for greater convenience. For us situated in the province, PICC is not the sole venue option for oathtaking ceremonies. Numerous ceremonies are held in various venues across different regions, which is beneficial for professionals residing in remote or inter-island villages. While attending such ceremonies can indeed be expensive, it also serves as a celebration of achieving a significant milestone in life. I hope alternatives are provided so that traveling to Metro Manila won’t be necessary for you. All the best!
