With a bit of glue here and there it will look nice hung on the ceiling of your hangar. It looked like a dying black swan after the crash. 😥 Anyone else would be in tears or furious with the manufacturers, I love you guys. ❤
I have watched Robert's video. My name is Pete and please keep in mind, I am a RC enthusiast just like many of you. At the end of the day, outside of the office, I am a hobbyist first and foremost. At times, it gets pretty deflating to read bashing and trash talk. Then again, when this industry is my job and my passion, I take all the comments and try to respond where I can and try to make some type of difference. Now on to Robert's video. Also his unboxing video. There are many questions and areas to be asked here. First, unless I didn't hear correctly, there was not any mention that this SR-71 was purchased from Banana Hobby. Second, being Banana Hobby is located in Southern California, and if this SR-71 was purchased from BH, it traveled across the globe to where Robert calls home in Slovenia. We all know shipping couriers are not our best friends. Packages are not handled with care 90% of the time. Especially overseas shipping transits. We did a search here at Banana Hobby and could not locate any orders using the name Robert Petrincic. Sky Flight Hobby/LX Models are sold not only from BH. They are sold over seas direct from China, and from a few other vendors on the internet. Just because the box reads BlitzRCworks does not solidify that the model was purchased and shipped from Banana Hobby. We have looked through all the emails and at no time, did Robert contact us using any of our 4 ways to speak with us. No emails, no live chat sessions, no text and no call records. IF if fact he did purchase this SR-71 from us, the moment he discovered the damages upon unboxing the aircraft, he should have contacted us for a resolution. We did not ship the aircraft with the damages. Our products from our location here are opened and even repacked better and stronger for shipping transits. Of course, we can not control the shipping process and if the shipping courier decides they are going to do have a heard of wild horses run across the boxes. At this point, this SR-71 may have been purchased from another vendor. We do our best here to on site QC our products prior to shipping. We also receive the best of a production product and only accept the top of the tier from the factory. Next would be after his assembly leading into the maiden flight. What lipo and size was Robert using. If he was using the correct battery, is the battery damaged and or tired with a bad cell. Here is where we have a valuable question to ask. With the amount of experience Robert has and the countless EDF models he has flown, why was the maiden flight rushed? Due to the spectators walking down the street towards him? As soon as Robert increased the throttle, with Robert's experience, immediately he should have heard and can hear the EDF tones are not reaching optimal level. Literally as soon as the throttle was increased to full, the take off should have been aborted. Why force that flight? Also you can hear the 2 EDF units were not synced well. This could have been in his radio settings and also, were the ESC's calibrated together prior to his flight on his particular transmitter. Either way, I am sure most all of you that watched this video can audibly tell the aircraft does not sound like there was enough power. Due to the Delta wing layout, the aircraft does take to the sky and in alpha angle. As seen in Robert's flight he had multiple opportunities where he cold have just set the aircraft down on that soft green pasture. It just seems he was already set in his mind that he hated this aircraft purchase and really did not care. There was no reason to push the aircraft to fly and stay airborne. Next is the layer he sprayed on his SR-71. The entire performance of these small EDF models will stem back to weight. The lighter the better. With the level of Robert's experience, the flight should have been aborted. Upon arriving with shipping damages, don't build the aircraft and contact the vendor. In any event, we wanted to post so people can see and read, we do care and we are active in this RC community. We can not please everyone and will continue to assist when assistance is asked from us. If there are questions, please ask. There are no such thing as dumb questions. We are here because we love this hobby. I am in this because this hobby has brought to me so much joy and is shared to me by my dad who is a retired Air Force pilot and commercial pilot. Well thanks for another entertaining video Pilot Robert and Captain Blaž. I’ve have today ordered the durafly tundra after watching most of your videos over this weekend. Thanks from all the way from down under.
Another very entertaining video Mr. Petrincic!!! Just wanted to mention for future builds that are NOT doomed from the factory, the "screaming servo" issue can be remedied by plugging a capacitor directly into any spare port in your receiver. I wouldn't be surprised If you were already are aware but it was news to me recently so figured it couldn't hurt to mention.
One of my favorite jets when I was a kid. I always wanted a model of one. Hopefully FreeWing or E-Flite will make one. Glue it back together and put some new EDFs in it and get that baby back in the air!
I salute you Pilot Robert for your herculean efforts in trying to bring that crazy thing down without crashing 👍 Hope you can find a 2x 90mm EDF version you can replace this with 😉
Your friends in Texas USA really enjoy your videos. Sorry about the situation on the SR-71. As you said, sometimes the RC hobby results in a crash. As far as hanging it in your shop, please do hang it as a reminder of crappy plans we sometimes try. Be safe over there!
I have the same sr71, got the KIT and used CS 4s with FW servo's. Added rudders and it still won't take off. 70mm might do it. Better than my maiden. Thanks guys
Keeping disaster light hearted is what everyone enjoys about you. I need to work on that. Be grateful you can fly. We just got ANOTHER dumping of snow in Kansas City. The bright side....my real flight 8 simulator arrived yesterday so I'm working on slow flight and tight turns in the Eflite apprentice. The simulator software is outstanding. I didn't even need to use a video card for it to work perfectly. Thanks for the fun. Curious about the sheet metal templates you have hanging in your workshop.
Thank you for the salute! I salute you back for your smooth flying while fighting an under powered aircraft. Too bad they pushed this airplane to the market without making sure it was flyable!
I thought this would be a problem as soon as you showed us the poor quality. Great flying pilot Robert and great filming captain Blaz. That thing had no power at all, amazing you still got it to fly.
Thank you guys for putting out such great videos. You guys are the reason i got into the hobby a few months ago. I am able th take from the good and the bad and learn from it and not take it so hard when the bad happens.
Pilot Robert, sorry for your troubles with this plane. you did very well for the amount of time you kept it in the air. Good job, and now RC aviators will know not to buy this crap of a plane. I salute you for your effort!
Capt Robert. So sorry to see your crash. This plane was flying right at the hairy edge of a stall all the time. When you tried to gain altitude it got even worse. I agree with Capt Blaz. Fly-by-night companies build good looking, cheap planes to get your money but do little testing of their inferior products. Wait till Freewing comes out with an SR71 !! All the best and Thank Youi for your video.
I can't believe that companies try to sell this kind of rubbish when people like the Petrincic brothers are there to expose them. Great video guys, thank you for informing the masses about this rubbish. Robert, you and Blaz are just fantastic for the rc community. 👍👍👍
Captain Robert. I believe it is fixable. I have the same plane and it flies pretty well (very fast). Mine is running the stock power system but I removed the landing gear and inlet cones. I also made the elevons a little bigger. It's a little awkward to hand launch but it flies okay and keeps the blood pumping.
I recommend doing an autopsy. Take the electronics out and test those edf units. Not your fault Robert, that plane was under powered from the beginning. It did make a weird high pitch sound right before the crash which I thought was strange. However tragic you guys make it fun and still have a great attitude for the hobby. I salute you
Great video. You guys are funny and informative. I think the saying " you can polish a turd but it's still a turd applies to this model. Great job guys
I think that Blackbird was doomed from the beginning, the take off showed that there was no power to even climb out properly, then it sat nose up on the point of the stall, you did well to keep it flying as long as it did Captain Robert ,just put this down to experience and avoid Blitzworks or Banana Hobby products at all costs, you have some nice aeroplanes in your hangar now and no need for rubbish like this one, perhaps glue it together as a reminder of this bad experience but at least it is a unique shape.
I think Motion RC is the way forward now in Europe especially as Hobbyking after service and quality is not improving either,my next model will be Motion RC if we are spending good money then we expect good service and from what we have seen here the brothers are getting it from them, the latest Me.262 is a good example..
Great piloting skill...can't believe you were able to keep it airborne for as long as you did. Under-powered, and looked a little tail heavy. Like an old German auto mechanic used to say about my 1968 Ford Mustang..."lots of lipstick but no girdle".
I was thinking that my friend, but since we never give up on this channel, the bird is fixed and I will found out what is wrong here. And I will try to fly it good no matter what. But with modifications ofcourse.
Fun fact. When all of the surviving SR-71s were going to museum's, someone put a large cut in the planes main wing spar so they'll never fly again. Hugely stupid thing to do. So someone is just going to walk into a museum hop into the cockpit of a blackbird, fuel it up and just fly it out of the museum?
Good job getting it in the air as long as you did! I'd say something about the "B H" company, but I don't want to have to perform the "cleansing ceremony " after saying their name !
Robert, you better get the NTSB (National Tranportation and Safety Board) to investigate that wreckage to determine what happened. I would love to see it back in the air. I think you can get it flying again.
I can't say I have the same great attitude after a crash. I think you need a salute for an admirable attitude we can learn from. Better to have flown and lost than never flown at all I guess :)

OMG Robert!!! I can't believe you were even able to fly it!!! Great job by you to keep it in the air as long as you did and great job by Blaz!!! Greetings from the Mojave Desert 😁👍😎!!!
Thanks my friend. I really did my best to keep this bird alive as long as possible.
Indeed you did brother 😁👍😎!!!
Oh yeah my friend. I can easy imagine Freewing one with twin 80mm EDF units. That would be something to buy.
At 6:45, it looks like a flying guitar :) A+
Pilot robert is realy one happy pilot. He smiled when he watched his 300 euro plane going down.
What else to do my friend. At least I wasnt in the plane ;-)
I have the same sr71, got the KIT and used CS 4s with FW servo's. Added rudders and it still won't take off. 70mm might do it. Better than my maiden. Thanks guys
Its really crazy my friend. But I have the bird ready for round two.
What else to do my friend. You risk every single time. And at least I wasnt in the plane ;-)
Thank you for the salute! I salute you back for your smooth flying while fighting an under powered aircraft. Too bad they pushed this airplane to the market without making sure it was flyable!
Still a fun video, just display it in your hanger . Thanks for sharing !
I thought this would be a problem as soon as you showed us the poor quality. Great flying pilot Robert and great filming captain Blaz. That thing had no power at all, amazing you still got it to fly.
Thanks Pilot Robert Capt Blaz`letting us witness the flite mayhem and the tech advice.Better days are ahead.😎
I know this is an old video, but I do want to salute you for always having a positive attitude.
Thanks and big salute back my friend.
Oh man what a shame capt. Hey you tried and did the best you could with it! Loved the video as usual!
Robert - I bet your EDF's were WAY out of balance :(...... ops, never mind @ 7:00 - too late :(
We need an after action report! :) I think you are right about the ESC not working. That would be to to know for sure.
Sunday entertainment at its finest thx Brothers.... Have a good workweek I love you're fun watching....
Thanks my friend for such kind words. It was fun testing it.
My salute to you and Capt blazplease keep up the good work
Thank you guys for putting out such great videos. You guys are the reason i got into the hobby a few months ago. I am able th take from the good and the bad and learn from it and not take it so hard when the bad happens.
Iam really happy that you have found this amazing hobby my friend. Thanks for all support.
love the technical appraisal........."don't buy this shit hey".......LOL
Pilot Robert, sorry for your troubles with this plane. you did very well for the amount of time you kept it in the air. Good job, and now RC aviators will know not to buy this crap of a plane. I salute you for your effort!
You know the flight is going badly when no words were spoken for the FIRST 19 SECONDS of flight
It’s amazing how long you actually flew it!
I love the amateur vibes, and the dysfunction. Subbed!
Thanks my friend. That is the point of this channel. Big salute from Slovenia.
We'll handled! That wanted to crash as soon as you took off, shame it ended so badly, but it made a great video. Peace out Captain.
Thanks my friend. There was no other way this time.
You’re right 300€ for one frustation flight is crazy. It has to fly great with enough power but it didn’t. And you are a good pilot.
Robert I had the same result. Underpowered and mine hit an electric wire. And exploded on impact 😫
This is just nothing my friend. But I did fix it again.
Yes it will look good as a display model in your hanger.
You did really well to keep it up for so long
regards PB
Bravo for the effort.Sad that such a nice looking plane is better on the wall than in the air. Thanks for sharing.
I recommend doing an autopsy. Take the electronics out and test those edf units. Not your fault Robert, that plane was under powered from the beginning. It did make a weird high pitch sound right before the crash which I thought was strange. However tragic you guys make it fun and still have a great attitude for the hobby. I salute you
Oh we will my friend. The bird is fixed and we will film thrust test to see what the hell is going on here.
Yep Banana Hobby Sells alot of Crap and their Customer Service is Crap as well...Beware of Banana Hobby Period...
I think Motion RC is the way forward now in Europe especially as Hobbyking after service and quality is not improving either,my next model will be Motion RC if we are spending good money then we expect good service and from what we have seen here the brothers are getting it from them, the latest Me.262 is a good example..
Aeroplanes or airplane?
Same thing,Airplane is American,Aeroplane is European, take your pick pick, the word 'Plane' is slang for both.
Great piloting skill...can't believe you were able to keep it airborne for as long as you did. Under-powered, and looked a little tail heavy. Like an old German auto mechanic used to say about my 1968 Ford Mustang..."lots of lipstick but no girdle".
Take out all of the electronics, fix it repaint it and hang it in the hanger. Great video, you did what you could.
After watching the unboxing, I didn't have any expectations that this plane would fly.
Looks like fun..lol ..great flight and crash ..hay quick salute ... its was a slow poke edf .. great video
My new favorite RC Aviation channel...
Good job getting it in the air as long as you did! I'd say something about the "B H" company, but I don't want to have to perform the "cleansing ceremony " after saying their name !
I have the same problem but i fixed it by giving it 90% thrust on take off and 80%thrust on flight and flew beautifully
Try to also put the gear up for less drag
Robert, you better get the NTSB (National Tranportation and Safety Board) to investigate that wreckage to determine what happened. I would love to see it back in the air. I think you can get it flying again.
I love this channel, so funny.
Thanks my friend for all support.
Well you had fun, now you have a crash video that will attract some clicks. I wanted it to fly and it did for a while. Jeff in LA USA
But it looked so great,:( you fought bravely Robert, i thought it will go down much earlier
It really did my friend. And dont worry I will fly it again no matter what.
