What's the name of the dumplings you like and where can I find them in the States. Great video I just came upon your videos by searching shanghai. I wish I could travel there someday.
everything is expensive in shanghai???? compared to where? the prices are expressed in RMB, meaning those clothes early on are just a few bucks. and if you go to a corner grocery instead of one where lao wai attend you can cut another 30 per cent or more off the top.
Holy Moly! It's very expensive to go grocery shopping there, how much is rent if you don't mind me asking :) Did you move to Shanghai to be with timmy fulltime? What about the job you moved to D.C for?
Hi Andrya! Fortunately I've been transferred to China for work so T & I will finally be able to be together full-time! No more long distance!! Rent really varies depending on which neighborhood you live in, the size of your accommodation, amenities, etc. I think you can find a place to live in every price range. -Glo
You can find Wal-Mart and Carrefour (a French chain) in Shanghai. Some of the higher end grocery stores that sell a lot of imported foodstuff - albeit at a premium price - are City Shop and Ole.
heey!! i recently found your channel and im in love!! Have been watching and loving all the shanghai vlogs!! You guys are seriously the cutest couple :) btw I was just wondering how you uploaded your videos onto youtube because i know that TH-cam is blocked off in Shanghai, because im going to visit in a few months ahaha

Хорошее видео! мне понравилось, умничка!) Вообще уважаю труд тех кто делает видео, и ведет свои каналы. Я сама веду канал и знаю, как это непросто - записывать ролики. Не останавливайся, продолжай!
Great videos!!! I watched some of your videos of Shanghai and it looks like a cool city. Anyways, now that you lived in Shanghai and Taipei...do you have a preference? I used to live in Taipei and I taught English there for a year. Miss the 7-Elevens...Anyway, I'm thinking of moving to Shanghai...looks fun, cheers and keep up the vlogs!
ajarnmike Thank you for your comment and for watching our vlog! Shanghai is a great city! After living in Taiwan for 12 years, I am enjoying Shanghai for its differences as well as the opportunity to explore China proper. Shanghai is certainly a much bigger city with a lot more going on. However, I must admit I am "homesick" for Taipei and Isla Formosa! 7-11 all the way!!! Blessings, Tim
Awesome, yeah I agree Shanghai will be different from Taipei and isn't that why people travel---more adventure---I guess that's why I ended up living in Bangkok after Taipei. Taipei was fun but I enjoyed SE Asia more...Burma was great. ANyway, keep vlogging thanks for helping me make up my mind, Cheers from Vancouver!!!
ajarnmike Yeah! SE Asia is amazing! Stoked to hear you're setting yourself up for more travel and adventure here in Asia! Vancouver is a wonderful city, visited there many moons ago when the travel bug first bit me! ;) Best wishes, Tim
Those Tim Tams don't look like the original Australian packed. Careful not to get the Indonesian version. quality isn't the same. And 9 rmb seems a little too cheap for Tim Tams.
Dj Stanley Yeah, they were smaller export Tim Tams. Still tasted the same, but were mini! Nonetheless, we could still do a decent Tim Tam Slam with them! Thanks for the heads up!!! :) - Tim
No problems, good to see you guys enjoying Shanghai. I use to live there and now in Singapore. Recently just got another job offer there in Sha again (still deciding)....so ran into your channel when I looked up Jingn my old area I lived in. Keep up the cool vlogs :)
Dj Stanley Cheers for watching our vlogs! We enjoy living in Shanghai, but will be leaving in less than a year! Tell us more about Singapore!!! We haven't been yet!!! What places and food do you suggest for us to experience while there ... for let's say a 2-3 day visit!? Best wishes, Tim
I've been to Shanghai and I didn't know there was a Carrefour supermarket in town ... very cool! Even in Brazil, Carrefour network is quite large with many stores covering almost all cities. Thanks for sharing!
Claudio Hideki There are numerous Carrefour supermarkets in Shanghai as well as a few Tescos! Good to know that Brazil also hos Carrefour! :) Thanks for the information and for watching our vlog! Best to you, T&G
What a lovely couple! Hope you have more vlogs on TH-cam. BTW, I guess your wife is of Korean descent from her appearance. It turns out to be correct after reading your reply to others. XD
Cassen Irie Hiiii! Yes, you're correct! Was it the eyes that gave it away? :p We upload new vlogs to our channel every four days. The next vlog will be live on January 28th. Thank you for watching and commenting!! ^_^
TimGloAdventures that's kinda expensive. the price went up so much! when I left china in 2006, I think a big of frozen dumplings only cost about 6-8 yuan at that time. But I bet it tastes good!

Jay Swartz if u compare with other parts of china, Shanghai is an expensive place to live. The price of a small apartment may just rock ur head off.
true enough. i lived in SH and that is true. but still cheaper than either HK or Singapore.

how much is one bag of dumplings?
One bag of our favorite dumplings, which has 20 pieces, costs between RMB 24 and 32 (approximately USD $4-8) depending on where you're shopping. ;)
Correction: One of our fave dumplings has 36 pieces and costs up to RMB 35. :)
