As always, awesome guide! Some input from me, as a slayer main (35+550): 1. Slayer can give the team something no one else can: greathammer heavy attacks combined with no escape +25% movement speed (which btw gives a great bonus to dual axes push-attack bonus movement speed). Ecspecially good on pubs, where the team often splits during horde wave. 2. Useful legend breakpoints for Slayer: - oneshot CW with warpick - maxed heavy attack headshot (+20% vs chaos, skull splitter, smiter) - stagger CW out of overhead animation - greataxe heavy attack (skull splitter, enhanced power, +30% vs chaos/armor, opportunist) - stagger fanatics/plagues out of combo - greathammer light attack (skull splitter, opportunist) - oneshot fanatics - bodyshot light attack with dual axes (+30% vs chaos/infantry) - "oneshot" SV - a fun combo, dual axes push-attack with greathammer light (those two attacks go crazy fast, while also giving greathammer instant full stacks, also giving bonus movement speed, which can be used to move left/right, like on enhanced dodge) - dual axes with smiter - great specials killer with push attack, and eventually leap+no escape (i don't need throwing axes at all) 3. My two favourite Slayer builds on legend: - greathammer (+5% attack speed, +5% crit chance, SS) - either dual axes (+2 stamina, 30% BCR, SS) or 1h hammer (+2 stamina, 30% BCR, Off Balance) for my Ironslayer build - necklace (+20% hp, barkskin and +2 stamina for dual axes, +30% BCR for 1h hammer) - charm (+10% vs chaos, +5% attack speed, concoction for dual axes*, decanter for 1h hammer) - trinket (+33% curse resistance, +30% stamina regeneration which is mandatory for those builds, shrapnel) Talents: Doomseeker, Hack and slash, Smiter, Adrenaline surge, Grimnir focus, No escape) *concoction just so you can get bonus speed from every potion, which requires autohotkey on dual axes, cuz u can't click that fast

@@MrMcBeevee CW = Chaos Warrior (big dude in heavy armor) SV = Stomvermin (armored rat) SS = Swift Slaying - trait for weapons that increase speed by 20% on crits, best trait for 95% of melee weapons BCR = Block Cost Reduction - trait on weapon & amulet, if you combine 2 of these, you can get up to 250% more stamina for blocking, which is important to survive on Legend and Cataclysm difficulty, as you can just block and dodge and reposition
@@MrMcBeevee if you want some help with Slayer: - Main advice - when fighting horde, remember to push attack and dodge all the time, it will allow you to take 0 damage vs horde. DO NOT solo into patrols, always be close to some other player. If you struggle vs horde - use dual hammers. If you struggle vs specials - dual axe or throwing axe is the answer. If you struggle vs armor enemies - 1h axe or 2h axe is the answer. If you want just max damage - Coghammer is the best. With ulti (level 30 skills), "No Escape" = full mobility on using ulti, "Crunch" stuns everyone around, making fighting with horde, patrols, chaos warriors, plague monks/berserkers really easy. "Dawi-drop" is a meme and there is no reason to use it. - Level 25 skills - "Grimnir Focus" is your main tank skill, if you use 1 heavy attack every ~5 seconds, you are really tanky. Dont use other skill ever. - Level 20 - "Adrenaline Surge" - ALWAYS take it. It will allow you to spam ulti all the time, its easily best in that row. - Level 15 - "Smiter" - best vs single enemies and monsters. You should really always use it. - Level 5 - "Slayer's Fury" if you use weapons that have very high damage - 2h Axe, 1h Axe. "Doomseeker" is the best if you use Dual Hammers or Coghammer, as it lets you get 100% temporary HP in seconds against horde. --- BUILD ADVICE - there are really 2 builds to play him (and eventually 3, but the third is hard) 1 - Dual Hammers + Dual Axe or Axe Dual Hammers are overall best Slaye weapon... the best weapon to destroy horde, its extremely safe, mobile, deals great damage, cleaves through a ton of enemies, and regains a ton of temporary health. The only thing it struggles with is Super Armor (chaos warrior), Shielded Stormvermin and Specials (assassin rat, lich etc). Dual Axe is the most mobile, has a huge dodge distance, and gives you speed when you push attack (block + attack)... if you combine it with "No Escape" talent, and use your ultimate skill, each push attack makes you move crazy fast, almost like teleport. Dual Axe has highest damage vs monsters, it is great for defending vs specials or killing specials. But its not great vs Super Armor & has very low stamina (so cant block with it). 1h Axe is just armor deleter. You can use ulti, 1 heavy attack and then just smack light attacks and you can kill a Stormvermin patrol, or multiple Chaos warriors. 2 - the "terminator" build... Coghammer is overall strongest Slayer weapon - it can oneshot Chaos Warrior, it has extreme headshot and armor damage, and its the best horde killer. The only downside it has is low dodge distance. You can pair it with Great Axe, which with Skull Splitter talent allows you to stun Berserkers/Plague Monk Skavens out of their combo, and which has amazing damage vs armor/super armor. Or take the less offensive and more defensive build, and use dual axes as secondary weapon, just to give you that mobility. 3 - dual hammers + throwing axes. Well, dual hammers are very universal, and throwing axe allows you to shot down and oneshot specials, plague monks, stormvermins etc. It is harder to play though.
First off, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate the time and effort you've put into responding to my comment, which was a response to a 4 year old comment. Second, this is very helpful information that I am going to take into account. I have a pretty inconsistent group I've started this game with, with one other guy who's also new to the game pretty much being the only consistent companion. He and I beat our heads against the wall trying to complete the final mission of the base game on Champion difficulty sitting at power level 320-350ish. But doing that allowed me to see some issues that the setups I was trying to make work have. It doesn't help that we were rolling with 2 bots, but we were able to get through to the final boss twice before we finally dropped back to veteran. I have an understanding of the fundamentals of the team dynamic but at the end of the day, dealing with chaos warriors has been a struggle for me with slayer, and dealing with the Rat in a dress who after reading this, I am assuming is the monk, has also sucked. I've been able to kill the monk, but not before eating more hits than I'm comfortable with. I chose slayer for its trash clear capabilities. My buddy has alternated between witch hunter, bounty hunter, and warrior priest. Our third who's in from time to time is using footknight. And our very inconsistent 4th is using the fire mage chick. On paper, this seems like a good setup. However, getting ganged up by multiple Chaos Warriors while trying to deal with a horde while also avoiding a vortex is problematic when my allies have been killed, thrown off of a cliff, etc. We're all learning the game. Having an effective means of dealing with chaos warriors is a huge piece of the puzzle I've been missing. Relying on the bounty hunter to shoot him in the face is just not reliable enough for me to be happy with. You've solved a huge problem for me there. I think I'm going to switch to your Coghammer terminator setup. It sounds like the perfect setup for what I'm trying to do. Seems like you forgot to cover beard physics, frankly I'd say the slayer is unmatched in this category. Especially on a lift, no one can make the team laugh like a slayer looking up at you with a maelstrom of beard flapping in the wind.
I've seen in-depth raiding guides for WoW which don't go into as much detail as you did, and WoW is 10x more complex than this game. You have my compliments, sir.

After losing a match: Saltzpyre: so let me get this strait: we were doing just fine in this quick play on cata, dealing with hordes, elites and specials at the same time with easy, having one of those rare coordinations that happened once every Morr's eclipses. All is fine and good, and we are about to finish this match, when suddenly, a patrol appears; we can avoid it, and we need to deal with a bunch of elites and a horde. we can do this, we have this; but what do you decide to do, Bardin? that's right: grab a barrel, hit it, and yolo yourself into that patrol, leaping behind it, somehow killing half the patrol, but leaving the other half to attack us, which, in turn, gets you killed and leaving no space for our Waywatcher to shoot, and no room to maneuver for me and Sienna, getting us killed. Did i get it right and strait, Goreksson? I played Slayer for the first and only time so far yesterday, and found myself doing exactly this. I literally grabbed a barrel, yeeted myself into a ream of Stormvermin, and popped all over them. It's just something about the class, it does something to a person. I blame the mohawk.
I just wanted to mention I'm greateful for the guides, slayer is my fav class and unironically your guides keep getting better and better and the amount of depth to them is great (battle wizard is my fav one so far) Also your guides are what helped me make the jump from champion to Legend (and eventually Cataclysm), no other vids I found come even close to explaining the knowledge needed to play at higher levels without basically word of mouth from other good players Thank you for the lengthy amount of work you put into them sir :)

Nothing strikes fear into vermin like a slayer using a speedpotion then career ability with no escape on. The small bearded sonic has the best running animation, legs like scoobydoo running on the spot till shooting off.

Ah yes, I do remember back to when the throwing axes came out. Since I love slayer, but when playing QP have the feeling I have to take care of everything on my own, a ranged weapon was something I was really looking forward to. After the first few games I was like "Hey, why do I keep dieing over and over and over? I'm not that bad of a slayer!", until I realized that I was seriously overusing my ranged weapon. While they feel great, they are slow and dangerous to use and I was still playing slayer, so in the middle of everything. No wonder I didn't last long.

I started playing playing Slayer and used the Coghammer and Great Axe combo. Pretty much wrecks patrols, which is usually what you try to avoid. Then I went for the Throwing Axe challenges. I Immediately tried to hit every Stormvermin in the head. Missed most of the Specials(mainly because they go up and down cliffs without any fucking reason just when I try to aim at them.) but eventually got to a point where I didn't spam it every damn time. They do decent boss damage as well. And I like that they don't run out. So you could potentailly get that far away Special shooting/storming at you.

There used to be a bug where bombs would explode multiple times. Strength pot Dawi drop bomb did almost half the rat ogre's health but did all of mine.

I am trained in hagbane friendlyfire and I am the top friendly firer in the entire elven army. You are nothing to me but just another random. I will use my hagbane with as much precision as a skaven would, mark my words you lumberfoot. (couldn't post the rest of the vermintide version of the navy seal copypasta I made since youtube comment auto filter smites it lol)
The guide could have been about 5 minutes shorter if you cut out: 1) long winded explanations for short points 2) mocking useless talents and builds Otherwise, good stuff.
A lot of stuff has changed since you made this guide, such as adding the Cog Hammer from Outcast Engineer DLC and damage buffs/debuffs becoming multiplicative instead of additive. Could you perhaps do a Quick Build Guide for Slayer to address these changes?
All I know about dwarfs is, very little. Dwarf range weapons suck because they're short-sighted. Cousin Okri may have been a fine warrior, but could he put food on the table? Bardin is always short tempered because the rest of the team talks down to him... maybe they have high standards. Did you hear about the war of the Dwarfs vs the Goblins? It was the shortest war in warhammer history. Ok, I'll see myself out... at least I can reach the deadbolt.

I always take throwing axes these days, not having to rely on my team mates to take out high risk specials is too good to pass up. Also the Mjolnir reload animation is too cool.
I feel ya, the amount of Kerillian/Kruber/Saltzpyre players who are unable to focus down marked specials has skyrocketed the last few week in my playthroughs. Another trend that has come up as well is them wasting their ammo on Skavenslaves or lone Stormvermins and then continuously cry for ammo the rest of the match.
Could you lobby at FS please to replace the useless Barge trait with Bean Diet which would provide unlimited bombs in some way for your dawi drop build? Extra sound effects would be nice. Kerillian would appreciate it as well. :) I must try it, this is hilarious.

So I don't understand... so what is the build for 2h hammer/War Pike? Where is in the video the exact cata build + breakpoints (power vs) I should have?
@@honestbenny No the coghammer and the 2h hammer are different weapons. :) The coghammer has light attack cleave and heavy attack armor dmg where as the normal 2h hammer has cleave on heavy and armor damage on light. Which means with propper swapping you can light attack both vs armored and vs hordes or you can heavy attack vs both armored and vs hordes which makes it incredibly satisfying to use :D
Honestly, I love barge. Total handicap, totally unnecessary, but I never get hit from Stormvermin or Chaos Warriors. Any move that is predictable, I always end up avoiding. The only time I take damage is when those sneaky little fodder-fuckers creeps behind me, when putting in work on either a horde, or on an elite. Because barge just knocks everything out of your way, you can pretty much spam dashing, which prevents those sneaky fodder enemies from landing a quick hit on your back, and also makes it so you can focus on elites by spamming dash, without really worrying about anything around you. I rocked oblivious to pain, and I didn't notice a difference, since I try not to make a habit of getting hit by big moves. Anyways, yeah, barge is a lot of fun, so fuck you!!!! Lmao, great vid as per usual!

Read the Gotrex and Felix books, this magnificent Slayer Engineer whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Malakai_Makaisson Uses ranged weapons plenty, and warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Long_Drong%27s_Slayer_Pirates These buccaneers do as well. Heck even Gortrek throws bombs on occasion and he’s the Dwarfiest Slayer to ever Slay. But yes, you’re right most slayers prefer to only use melee weaponry because it increases the chance of meeting their doom
i would never have thought that dawi jump could be useful. its extremely situational and can have the slayer take unnecessary dmg when jumping on a chaos warrior or something.
ThePartyKnife damnit I play on console and I got excited to see those cosmetics for the slayer, I wish I could play him and I do really good when I do but everyone is so bad on console I have to play as ranger to be able to kill the elites and bosses and specials because everyone just ignores them
...not worth trading range for...??? slayer can one shot chaos warriors with a pickaxe. if not you can finish them with 2 waraxe lights. the 2h axe can viably cleave ON CATA due to the countless buffs slayer gets to all round good melee abilities. also i like running 1h max speed builds with dual hammers and it completely replaces the need for range with movespeed. added with axes, you can get up to some really quick move speed, especially with high tally. its so effective i generally get more special kills than my team (as long as you know how to dodge them, but with the buffs, it's easy). the lack of range is entirely worth it.
I blame the stupid “kill 1000 enemies with throwing axes” achievement for the axe skin for the behavior of some of the slayers out there. I still haven’t finished that achievement... :(
Talks about the slayer, but leaves out the source of his power.. The mighty BEARD! Everybody knows he gets his slayer powers from the beard. Its like Chuck Norris all over again! What hides under Bardins beard? Probably another axe! Want to resurrect Bardin? Grab his beard!
Seems like quite a few viable builds, but one thing I wasnt clear on was about 2h build vs 1h/dual wep builds. Overall I dont usually care so about which is better...but for legend and cata it seems like 2h builds out perform 1h ones. Or are they very close in terms of power?
Hey man, I absolutely love your videos. Slayer is my main and I only run on Legend and here is the build I have most success with on public (I got his 100 level completion hat with ease). I very rarely go down. Do you think this would be cata viable? Interested to hear your thoughts. Specifically your thoughts on crit power cata viability (in terms of damage) too because I seem to crit all the time thanks to the slayers high attack speed and that seems to hit those breakpoints beautifully. At its core this is a charged attack only build with constant ult usage with the very occasional light attack on solo elites. Talents: 2,2,1,3,2,1 Great axe: stamina, crit power, swift slaying war pick: crit power, block cost, swift slaying necklace: health, block cost, barkskin charm: chaos, infantry, proxy trinket: curse res, move speed, shrapnel Playstyle: constant charged attacks only with great axe on mobs, quick and easy cleave. i use the ult, clear the mob and by the time the ult has finished i can use it again as long as i have been connecting charged attacks constantly. elites: charged attack only with war pick if they are solo. if they are mixed in the mob, staying with the charged great axe and the occasional light attack headshot works great. chaos warriors: Charged attack warpick, 1 shot headshot crit or 2 shot headshot no crit. bosses: war pick charged attacks, headshot where possible. the ult is used to clear space or help comrades as well or closing the distance with specials. I found that I dodge constantly and very rarely use block. This class is beautiful because my defence is my charged attacks. It is way more efficient to keep up that massive damage reduction from charged attacks (on legend) than it is to panic block and lose all of that damage reduction. I appreciate this may not be cata viable because the slayer brings very limited, specific benefits to the team. This is a hyper aggressive build, easily my most aggressive of all the classes.
Aww thank you so much much man! Generally speaking I don't like crit power very often unless it (as you mentioend) hit's very specific and usefull breakpoints. As to wether or not it would be a good idea in this case I'm afraid would require me to do an amount of testing I simply don't have time for right this very moment due to the grail knight being release :(
Hahaha i loved the bomb thing at the end!, I didn't know that.. As a slayer main, I'm really sorry that you experienced playing with other slayers that leave the team behind or just throw axes. I think it's a great class, a little bit broken (but I'm clearly biased) and can annihilate everything on it's path even on the highest difficulties (including Onslaught mod). One thing I would add, is that sometimes when you use a mixed build (slayer axes + two handed hammer for ex), you can use the axes just to close the gap between an enemy (with the block-attack). I've done that a ton of times to kill specials. Finally, keep up the good work!, I love that someome takes like this amount of work and time to make these videos!
Trying this game with friends I love it as soon as I saw slayer as an option I knew the class was what I wanted to play this guide makes me feel confident I’ll be able to be a better teammate with this class do to knowledge of what to do to be effective Ty this guides very helpful.

If you are using 2x 2handed weapons. Wouldnt you lost likely be using hammer and warpick and therefore be charge attacking everything cause you'd charge atta k hordes with the hammer and charge attack elites with the warpick. Therefore making "grilnirs focus" (idk how to spell this) More relevant than presented in the video? I'm a slayer rookie so I'm just being curious :)

- "oneshot" SV - a fun combo, dual axes push-attack with greathammer light (those two attacks go crazy fast, while also giving greathammer instant full stacks, also giving bonus movement speed, which can be used to move left/right, like on enhanced dodge)
- dual axes with smiter - great specials killer with push attack, and eventually leap+no escape (i don't need throwing axes at all)
3. My two favourite Slayer builds on legend:
- greathammer (+5% attack speed, +5% crit chance, SS)
- either dual axes (+2 stamina, 30% BCR, SS) or 1h hammer (+2 stamina, 30% BCR, Off Balance) for my Ironslayer build
- necklace (+20% hp, barkskin and +2 stamina for dual axes, +30% BCR for 1h hammer)
- charm (+10% vs chaos, +5% attack speed, concoction for dual axes*, decanter for 1h hammer)
- trinket (+33% curse resistance, +30% stamina regeneration which is mandatory for those builds, shrapnel)
Talents: Doomseeker, Hack and slash, Smiter, Adrenaline surge, Grimnir focus, No escape)
*concoction just so you can get bonus speed from every potion, which requires autohotkey on dual axes, cuz u can't click that fast

CW = Chaos Warrior (big dude in heavy armor)
SV = Stomvermin (armored rat)
SS = Swift Slaying - trait for weapons that increase speed by 20% on crits, best trait for 95% of melee weapons
BCR = Block Cost Reduction - trait on weapon & amulet, if you combine 2 of these, you can get up to 250% more stamina for blocking, which is important to survive on Legend and Cataclysm difficulty, as you can just block and dodge and reposition

- Main advice - when fighting horde, remember to push attack and dodge all the time, it will allow you to take 0 damage vs horde. DO NOT solo into patrols, always be close to some other player. If you struggle vs horde - use dual hammers. If you struggle vs specials - dual axe or throwing axe is the answer. If you struggle vs armor enemies - 1h axe or 2h axe is the answer.
If you want just max damage - Coghammer is the best.
With ulti (level 30 skills), "No Escape" = full mobility on using ulti, "Crunch" stuns everyone around, making fighting with horde, patrols, chaos warriors, plague monks/berserkers really easy. "Dawi-drop" is a meme and there is no reason to use it.
- Level 25 skills - "Grimnir Focus" is your main tank skill, if you use 1 heavy attack every ~5 seconds, you are really tanky. Dont use other skill ever.
- Level 20 - "Adrenaline Surge" - ALWAYS take it. It will allow you to spam ulti all the time, its easily best in that row.
- Level 15 - "Smiter" - best vs single enemies and monsters. You should really always use it.
- Level 5 - "Slayer's Fury" if you use weapons that have very high damage - 2h Axe, 1h Axe. "Doomseeker" is the best if you use Dual Hammers or Coghammer, as it lets you get 100% temporary HP in seconds against horde.
--- BUILD ADVICE - there are really 2 builds to play him (and eventually 3, but the third is hard)
1 - Dual Hammers + Dual Axe or Axe
Dual Hammers are overall best Slaye weapon... the best weapon to destroy horde, its extremely safe, mobile, deals great damage, cleaves through a ton of enemies, and regains a ton of temporary health. The only thing it struggles with is Super Armor (chaos warrior), Shielded Stormvermin and Specials (assassin rat, lich etc).
Dual Axe is the most mobile, has a huge dodge distance, and gives you speed when you push attack (block + attack)... if you combine it with "No Escape" talent, and use your ultimate skill, each push attack makes you move crazy fast, almost like teleport.
Dual Axe has highest damage vs monsters, it is great for defending vs specials or killing specials. But its not great vs Super Armor & has very low stamina (so cant block with it).
1h Axe is just armor deleter. You can use ulti, 1 heavy attack and then just smack light attacks and you can kill a Stormvermin patrol, or multiple Chaos warriors.
2 - the "terminator" build... Coghammer is overall strongest Slayer weapon - it can oneshot Chaos Warrior, it has extreme headshot and armor damage, and its the best horde killer. The only downside it has is low dodge distance. You can pair it with Great Axe, which with Skull Splitter talent allows you to stun Berserkers/Plague Monk Skavens out of their combo, and which has amazing damage vs armor/super armor. Or take the less offensive and more defensive build, and use dual axes as secondary weapon, just to give you that mobility.
3 - dual hammers + throwing axes. Well, dual hammers are very universal, and throwing axe allows you to shot down and oneshot specials, plague monks, stormvermins etc. It is harder to play though.
First off, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate the time and effort you've put into responding to my comment, which was a response to a 4 year old comment.
Second, this is very helpful information that I am going to take into account. I have a pretty inconsistent group I've started this game with, with one other guy who's also new to the game pretty much being the only consistent companion. He and I beat our heads against the wall trying to complete the final mission of the base game on Champion difficulty sitting at power level 320-350ish. But doing that allowed me to see some issues that the setups I was trying to make work have. It doesn't help that we were rolling with 2 bots, but we were able to get through to the final boss twice before we finally dropped back to veteran. I have an understanding of the fundamentals of the team dynamic but at the end of the day, dealing with chaos warriors has been a struggle for me with slayer, and dealing with the Rat in a dress who after reading this, I am assuming is the monk, has also sucked. I've been able to kill the monk, but not before eating more hits than I'm comfortable with. I chose slayer for its trash clear capabilities. My buddy has alternated between witch hunter, bounty hunter, and warrior priest. Our third who's in from time to time is using footknight. And our very inconsistent 4th is using the fire mage chick. On paper, this seems like a good setup. However, getting ganged up by multiple Chaos Warriors while trying to deal with a horde while also avoiding a vortex is problematic when my allies have been killed, thrown off of a cliff, etc. We're all learning the game. Having an effective means of dealing with chaos warriors is a huge piece of the puzzle I've been missing. Relying on the bounty hunter to shoot him in the face is just not reliable enough for me to be happy with. You've solved a huge problem for me there. I think I'm going to switch to your Coghammer terminator setup. It sounds like the perfect setup for what I'm trying to do. I really appreciate this comment once again, and I will definitely be subbing to your channel

Seems like you forgot to cover beard physics, frankly I'd say the slayer is unmatched in this category. Especially on a lift, no one can make the team laugh like a slayer looking up at you with a maelstrom of beard flapping in the wind.

Nothing strikes fear into vermin like a slayer using a speedpotion then career ability with no escape on. The small bearded sonic has the best running animation, legs like scoobydoo running on the spot till shooting off.
He run so fast he makes it 5 meters past the edge before remembering there is gravity annd falling :P

Ah yes, I do remember back to when the throwing axes came out. Since I love slayer, but when playing QP have the feeling I have to take care of everything on my own, a ranged weapon was something I was really looking forward to.
After the first few games I was like "Hey, why do I keep dieing over and over and over? I'm not that bad of a slayer!", until I realized that I was seriously overusing my ranged weapon. While they feel great, they are slow and dangerous to use and I was still playing slayer, so in the middle of everything. No wonder I didn't last long.

I started playing playing Slayer and used the Coghammer and Great Axe combo. Pretty much wrecks patrols, which is usually what you try to avoid. Then I went for the Throwing Axe challenges. I Immediately tried to hit every Stormvermin in the head. Missed most of the Specials(mainly because they go up and down cliffs without any fucking reason just when I try to aim at them.) but eventually got to a point where I didn't spam it every damn time. They do decent boss damage as well. And I like that they don't run out. So you could potentailly get that far away Special shooting/storming at you.

I always take throwing axes these days, not having to rely on my team mates to take out high risk specials is too good to pass up. Also the Mjolnir reload animation is too cool.
I feel ya, the amount of Kerillian/Kruber/Saltzpyre players who are unable to focus down marked specials has skyrocketed the last few week in my playthroughs.
Another trend that has come up as well is them wasting their ammo on Skavenslaves or lone Stormvermins and then continuously cry for ammo the rest of the match.

@@honestbenny No the coghammer and the 2h hammer are different weapons. :) The coghammer has light attack cleave and heavy attack armor dmg where as the normal 2h hammer has cleave on heavy and armor damage on light. Which means with propper swapping you can light attack both vs armored and vs hordes or you can heavy attack vs both armored and vs hordes which makes it incredibly satisfying to use :D
Honestly, I love barge.
Total handicap, totally unnecessary, but I never get hit from Stormvermin or Chaos Warriors. Any move that is predictable, I always end up avoiding.
The only time I take damage is when those sneaky little fodder-fuckers creeps behind me, when putting in work on either a horde, or on an elite.
Because barge just knocks everything out of your way, you can pretty much spam dashing, which prevents those sneaky fodder enemies from landing a quick hit on your back, and also makes it so you can focus on elites by spamming dash, without really worrying about anything around you.
I rocked oblivious to pain, and I didn't notice a difference, since I try not to make a habit of getting hit by big moves.
Anyways, yeah, barge is a lot of fun, so fuck you!!!!

These buccaneers do as well. Heck even Gortrek throws bombs on occasion and he’s the Dwarfiest Slayer to ever Slay. But yes, you’re right most slayers prefer to only use melee weaponry because it increases the chance of meeting their doom

i would never have thought that dawi jump could be useful. its extremely situational and can have the slayer take unnecessary dmg when jumping on a chaos warrior or something.

ThePartyKnife damnit I play on console and I got excited to see those cosmetics for the slayer, I wish I could play him and I do really good when I do but everyone is so bad on console I have to play as ranger to be able to kill the elites and bosses and specials because everyone just ignores them

slayer can one shot chaos warriors with a pickaxe. if not you can finish them with 2 waraxe lights. the 2h axe can viably cleave ON CATA due to the countless buffs slayer gets to all round good melee abilities.
also i like running 1h max speed builds with dual hammers and it completely replaces the need for range with movespeed. added with axes, you can get up to some really quick move speed, especially with high tally.
its so effective i generally get more special kills than my team (as long as you know how to dodge them, but with the buffs, it's easy).
the lack of range is entirely worth it.
I blame the stupid “kill 1000 enemies with throwing axes” achievement for the axe skin for the behavior of some of the slayers out there. I still haven’t finished that achievement... :(

Seems like quite a few viable builds, but one thing I wasnt clear on was about 2h build vs 1h/dual wep builds. Overall I dont usually care so about which is better...but for legend and cata it seems like 2h builds out perform 1h ones. Or are they very close in terms of power?

Hey man, I absolutely love your videos. Slayer is my main and I only run on Legend and here is the build I have most success with on public (I got his 100 level completion hat with ease). I very rarely go down. Do you think this would be cata viable? Interested to hear your thoughts. Specifically your thoughts on crit power cata viability (in terms of damage) too because I seem to crit all the time thanks to the slayers high attack speed and that seems to hit those breakpoints beautifully. At its core this is a charged attack only build with constant ult usage with the very occasional light attack on solo elites.
Talents: 2,2,1,3,2,1
Great axe: stamina, crit power, swift slaying
war pick: crit power, block cost, swift slaying
necklace: health, block cost, barkskin
charm: chaos, infantry, proxy
trinket: curse res, move speed, shrapnel
Playstyle: constant charged attacks only with great axe on mobs, quick and easy cleave. i use the ult, clear the mob and by the time the ult has finished i can use it again as long as i have been connecting charged attacks constantly.
elites: charged attack only with war pick if they are solo. if they are mixed in the mob, staying with the charged great axe and the occasional light attack headshot works great.
chaos warriors: Charged attack warpick, 1 shot headshot crit or 2 shot headshot no crit.
bosses: war pick charged attacks, headshot where possible.
the ult is used to clear space or help comrades as well or closing the distance with specials.
I found that I dodge constantly and very rarely use block. This class is beautiful because my defence is my charged attacks. It is way more efficient to keep up that massive damage reduction from charged attacks (on legend) than it is to panic block and lose all of that damage reduction. I appreciate this may not be cata viable because the slayer brings very limited, specific benefits to the team. This is a hyper aggressive build, easily my most aggressive of all the classes.
Aww thank you so much much man! Generally speaking I don't like crit power very often unless it (as you mentioend) hit's very specific and usefull breakpoints. As to wether or not it would be a good idea in this case I'm afraid would require me to do an amount of testing I simply don't have time for right this very moment due to the grail knight being release :(
Hahaha i loved the bomb thing at the end!, I didn't know that.. As a slayer main, I'm really sorry that you experienced playing with other slayers that leave the team behind or just throw axes.
I think it's a great class, a little bit broken (but I'm clearly biased) and can annihilate everything on it's path even on the highest difficulties (including Onslaught mod).
One thing I would add, is that sometimes when you use a mixed build (slayer axes + two handed hammer for ex), you can use the axes just to close the gap between an enemy (with the block-attack). I've done that a ton of times to kill specials.

Hey, how did you remove completely the headbob
If you are using 2x 2handed weapons. Wouldnt you lost likely be using hammer and warpick and therefore be charge attacking everything cause you'd charge atta k hordes with the hammer and charge attack elites with the warpick. Therefore making "grilnirs focus" (idk how to spell this)
