Hi! I just released my first EP! It is instrumental rock with prog and fusion influences. Follow this link and listen to it in the platform of your choice: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/gabrielcyr1/spectrum-exploration-i
I shed a wee Scottish tear today. I am a couple of weeks away from my 65th birthday, and the penny finally dropped that in my wildest dreams, I will never ever be able to play guitar like this, BUT, the tear was just as much one of joy because a guy who can play guitar like that took the the time to share it with the likes of me, and in so doing, he has made me want to keep on trying, keep on learning, keep on wanting to be that good even though I know I never will be. God bless you.
Tommy Lindsay stop thinking you’ll never be able to That’s 90% of your problem right there I decided about 2 years ago I can do it and practiced things I couldn’t do and now I can
Tommy Lindsay you CAN do it my friend...65 is the new 25! You may not become famous but you can certainly improve dramatically. Whenever I see a young guitar prodigy i always think “hey, it only took this kid half a decade to get that good..” Granted, our neuropathways might take longer to mylineate but you can still learn.. you CAN in fact teach an old dog new tricks!
LOL dude.... have you never read where the Saints will play their harps (jam on their guitars) around the throne of Christ! Lol, hang on mano..... it's going to happen for us..... hang on... :)
The most amazing thing about this dude is not that he perfectly hits literally every note, but that he manages to directly imitate the style of each player, which is REALLY hard to do. Extremely impressive

You forgot Duane Allman on #1. That riff wouldn't exist if he hadn't been there to record that song with them. The original studio version with his amazing slide guitar is still the best version to this day.
Guys are commenting on the chosen tunes or the changes he made. But I want to comment on his excellent transitions from song to song and all the work on the backing music he laid out perfectly. Bravo!
I was sitting here thinking the same thing. As an old drummer and not a guitar player i listen to these mixes and watch people play there axe in ore but i nearly always feel let down by the drum tracks. Awsome job and took me back to my childhood :)

I've heard the Comfortably Numb solo 1,000's of times, and seen David perform it live a few times as well. And still, whenever someone plays it with the right feel, it gives me chills and overwhelms me. Nice job young man!
I absolutely agree with your comment! Amazing job at all those solos but then to top of it off with sweet Comfortably Numb rendition was perfect choice!
Some people play solos seemingly accurately and perfectly, and then I hear this and I think this guy blows them all away. You sound more authentic and somehow even better and more thrilling than the original solos. Unbelievable!
This is pretty amazing - when you think that Clapton, Richie Blackmore, Knopfler, Brian May, Van Halen and David Gilmour have such different sounds and techniques. He really pulled it off. Great job !
That’s one of the best things about the Kemper setup. You can get literally any tone ever made and emulate it almost perfectly. Just takes some programming in the upfront part and making sure you have the right amp profiled
While still too young to make conscious music choices, this was the backdrop of my childhood, what I heard in the car, on the P.A. of the swimming pool, out of older brothers and sisters' bedrooms. Glad to have heard all that great music.
Gorgeous guitars, and superb tone. Love to see Carlos Santana represented - such a ravishing, unique tone, and so much Latin passion. Literally no one else in his emotional category.
Wow... great playing man. I’m most impressed with the picking technique on Smoke on the Water and Sultans of Swing. Wow.. although others are also impressive
I grew up as a little 10 year old kid through the early "70's" in the California bay area, a time in music i will never forget. so glad i grew up during that time.
i grew up as a not so little 10 year old kid in western new york through the early nineties, a time in music EVERYONE will forget. so glad i grew up with cool parents.
Because he did not do the greatest solos of the 70's. Nice job on what he did but there are many better and more difficult to play solos during that time.
That is by far some of the best picking I’ve heard or seen in a long time, hands down! Not only the accuracy and tone, etc., but more importantly, the feel of the original. Kick ass!
You are awesome. My son passed away May 4rh and I can’t believe how much you look like him and I came across your video accidentally. He always wanted to be able to okay guitar this way but he had an auto accident that took the use of his right arm and hand. I just can’t believe how much you look like him 😢
i feel for you, i too lost a child through leukemia, an 8 year old daughter, our only child, it was 17 years ago, but it still hurts like it was yesterday, nobody who hasn't lost a child knows the agony of the mindset that the loss leaves you in, no child should pass before the parents, as i said i really feel for you, god bless !!
Yeah…. I feel it’s unfortunate for the labels (or bands) to block their music for their fans and excellent people like you - whom appreciate and share (thus advertising) their music. GREAT WORK! Big respect, dude!
@@RNicolasRuvalcaba Basically the guitar tone was pretty close. And yes he played it really well. You can tell he put in the work to nail these solos. That is talent. I'm sure his original music is awesome as well
I can’t imagine being 18 years old in 1970s. Because every fiber of my body is instilled in this music. I wasn’t born until 1983. But I’ve played all these same songs for years. Hard to believe this stuff was once on the radio… fast forward to what’s on the radio today… hard to believe
Yes great music, much more difficult to learn how to play it though (IMHO or more accurately my excuse, etc.). We had no MTV (when they played music), TH-cam, computers, etc. so we had to learn by wearing out albums, etc.
I was so sad when they deleted the old video. I just saw it the day before, it was so awesome played (Tone&Feel) and the next day I wanted, you know, just play allong and learn the solos... guess what?! Why are these up there such pain in the ass with all this copyright stuff. That people might think Jimmy Page is the only who can play his solos? I mean, how will young people ever get in touch with this great music, when it gets deleted by copyright all the time. But one of the best covers ever heard, or isnt it plaback? Its so damn good!
All the previous solos were good, some of them great, but nothing compares to Comfortably Numb, it's just has a godlike aura the very first second your hear it... The fun thing is that the solo of the studio version is still not a lot compared to extended live versions like Pulse or Pompeii.
I can remember saying when Layla was released "we'll you can't beat that" but then the solos just kept getting better and better until Comfortably Numb the greatest solo bar none. Thanks for this you've made an old guitar player very happy. 😊
Quite impressive on accuracy. No doubt each and every solo you made is full of love for guitar heroes of the 70'. Holly shit what a pride to be born at the end of this golden rock decade !

Best decade for rock music and guitar 🎸 solos.

He didn't play 'that' part of Hotel California solo though. I was air guitaring with my eyes closed and now I am sad.
If he ended that solo he might get his video blocked. Eagles are very restrictive about their copyrights
And the part after that is more of a guitar duet ;-)
Thanks for reminding all of us how great those seventies licks were. It's amazing how just a few notes played with right dynamics can be so dramatic.
The WORLD"S best Comfortably numb cover. PERIOD
