I missed the live stream of this so I'm watching a few days after. Great to see Matt and I wish him much success with his book. The deserved accolades from Matt's prowess on the trumpet and long career in the industry will now have a tome to add to his accomplishments. Some of my fondest memories are playing guitar in Pittsburgh with 'On The Corner' and 'Takin' Names' back in the late 70s with Matt, Eric Leeds, and the other great musicians from those powerhouse bands. While we've lost a few of those great friends over the years, the warm memories live on.

I think prince played saxophone in grade school music class, maybe it was the only instrument left after everyone else picked one. I do know he loved hearing horns on stage with him, you can tell any decade, he pushed horns up front.

I’m glad to hear more about the whole Miles Davis thing as no, I’m not really familiar with his stuff, but I remember watching the stuff with him playing with Prince and it for sure wasn’t impressive, at least not to me.
