How to make a CANT on the Wood Mizer LT40

Making a CANT is the first step to sawmilling a log into lumber and I go through the steps and some things to look for on the WoodMizer LT40 sawmill.
A CANT is a log that you've sawmilled into a square beam for further processing into lumber. There are some key factors to consider when deciding how to sawmill a log into a CANT: Stress and how it will present itself in the final product [lumber], desired width of the finished lumber and how many pieces can be sawmilled out of the CANT.
Stress normally presents as a bend in the log and needs to be either horizontal (face bend) or vertical (crown) in the finished lumber.
Width of the CANT will be the width of the finished lumber
Height of the CANT will determine how many boards can be milled out of the CANT (ten 7/8 inch boards will need a CANT of 9 7/8" in height).
This is a simple method anyone can use to successfully sawmill a log down to a good CANT. Though I'm using a WoodMizer LT40 portable sawmill it can be done this way on any bandsaw sawmill.
