I feel like I’m watching family vacation videos. I grew up in South Africa and also spent 4 years in Namibia. In a small mining town called Rosh Pinah. Namibia was still called South West Africa. I also spent a memorable vacation as a boy in Ai-Ais. On Sundays we’d drive to the dried out parts of the Fish River and Orange River beds. We’d spend the day collecting bags of agate, rose quarts and more. Over the years we also collected the exoskeletons of 26 species of scorpions. 😳😱These videos are making me nostalgic about my younger years, without a care in the world. Your videos are amazing. Enjoy the amazing rugged beauty that only exists in the desert.

Always the best scenery is where the weather can become extreme. I was quite expecting the drone to do a very low pass over the edge of the canyon at speed, that would have been a great shot.

It's very easy for viewers to give advice about how to ride the rough parts, but you are the one there, doing it, with so many kms under your belt. The main objective in those tough situations is to get through without harming yourself or your bike and you are achieving that brilliantly.

Experience tells me the predicament she was in was not walkable. When I've been in such situations you end up falling and pulling the bike down with you or losing balance on the bike and it pulls you down. The camera flattens the grade so many things look possible that are not if you are there. She truly got it right when she said the key is to pick your line and keep your momentum going. Once you've been stopped, it's going to look sad and it will be sad.

Watching you ride through wilderness with possible wildlife is unnerving. I keep looking out for lions or other large cats. As a safari driver in Disney we get to learn how to recognize animal tracks and their droppings. The state of their droppings can tell you how long ago they passed by that spot. People that has been on real safaris in Africa have told me, in amazement, how close our attractions in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park come to the real thing. The one advantage of our safari is that you always get to see the animals on each trip. Although, on occasion, they do manage to hide from the trail.

Being a little more aggressive with the throttle on those hills may help. Of course, there's nobody around to help you, so you've got to strike a balance between getting into trouble from too little or too much throttle. All very easy for me to say while sitting on the sofa! Beautiful video.

And on the downhills, don't worry too much about what Is right in front of you, just focus on where you want to go. Shift UP a gear, pull in the clutch and just let it coast. Stay OFF the front brake so the front suspension has full travel available. If you need momentum slip the clutch in/out just enough to keep your drive forward.

I really hope you contact someone at your destination every day to give them an estimated time of arrival. Electronic communications in these remote areas are sporadic at best and a catastrophic failure of equipment is not something to relish. Over years of riding I have been stranded in Lesotho, Kosi Bay area, Transkei, Thabazimbi and a few other places where there is human habitation. I spent some time in Namibia as a soldier and would hate to suffer a breakdown there.

The stuff that could go wrong in these places (for me) is staggering. @@canuckcoffeecanada Namibia is a dry country devoid of human habitation. I once did not see a single person or building in 4 hours of riding, one unfortunate fall that causes injury and destroys a phone is possible and whilst we don't want that to happen one has to face reality and take very simple additional precautions. A few years ago a very experienced rider lost control in the Die Hell area and they found him a few weeks later - his phone was damaged and he even set his bike alight to attract attention, all to no avail.

@@gavinthomas6257 In my experience in Australia you are OK even in very remote areas as long as you stay on roads. Even seemingly remote roads will have people passing every day. The risk is off road or on tracks with little or no traffic. In Australia I can mitigate the risk to an extent by carrying an epirb as Australia has highly effective emergency services. However in less developed countries more than likely there will be no effective emergency service option so epirbs will be near useless. It is a risk. If I was in Noraly's shoes I would minimise risk by keeping my speed down and stopping to assess any difficult situations instead of rushing in headlong. As far as I can see she does that and has the concentration and self discipline to maintain that regime.

It's amazing how the introduction of small and cheap drones that can shoot in HD 4K have transformed amateur film making.
Scenes like at 10:42 that used to cost *THOUSANDS* per hour to hire a helicopter and camera crew to capture, can now be done by just one person - while riding along on your motorcycle!
Of course, you still have to be talented to be able to compose and shoot the clips and then skillfully edit them together to make it enjoyable to watch like this.
