    It doesn't matter if the ferrite core is loose. It's perfectly normal. The 4 serial EEPROM's in the socket keeps calibration data for the sensor (dead pixels, gain etc.) - Those sensors are quite expensive - you could sell it on for a good profit as long as the sensor element isn't destroyed. I paid quite a good amount for one of these not long time ago.

      Where can I get the cheapest Intraoral Digital sensor for X-ray?

      I have one of these but I have no idea how to check if it works and how much it would cost. Any ideas?

    Dude this is crazy. But it is a really cool and neat video, and I enjoyed seeing someone completely tail one of these down… Pretty neat. Wonder what the scintillating material is? I’m not too familiar with this stuff… But I would imagine lyso or something similar so that it can get the proper resolution and sensitivity.
    You could’ve fixed it with 10 minutes and used it in your lab or pass it on to someone who needed it. These are very expensive, even broken they bring hundreds and hundreds of dollars on eBay.
    I’ve fixed many of them for friends and clients, and although I’m not an expert when dealing with stuff like this… I run my own electronics lab, and focus mostly on component level board repairs and a bit of test equipment calibration and metrology. I do have a professional lab, but I’m not certified to work on medical stuff… So the x-ray sensors and detectors I fixed for friends and clients… Worth for veterinarian use or used in industrial applications.
    I’ve also built over a dozen of my own sensors and detectors for my geiger counters and survey meters… mostly scintillation detectors… because I find that technology fascinating and was stunned when I first learned of it.,
    I enjoy working and experimenting with different types of scintillating Crystal… and learning new things with each material. Nothing more enjoyable to me than a weekend stuck in my lap with a few fresh blocks of scintillating Crystal, some photo multiplier tubes, and some freshly machined precision aluminum enclosures.
    There’s a big community online who enjoy and share their experiences with this type of equipment. I keep learning every time I build a new detector… the last three I’ve built with solid state multipliers made from silicon. Which was a real learning experience and so much fun.

    Are RVG dental x rays safe ? Yesterday, my dentist carried out this on two of my teeth and now I am worried of radiation exposure as I have had many of these taken in the past as well

      Not to worry, the beam is narrow and lasts just one second. Dentists trigger the X-rays from a distance because they do it all day long, which is not the same thing having few x-rays a year.

      More like 0.1s. The digital sensors or phosphor plates are much, much more sensitive than the old film :) @@msylvain59

    very cool rare find. I've always wanted one of these to X-ray small components and chips...

      Medical discards can be amazing and fun. This example is something that could have been fixed with twenty minutes on the bench and two inches of shrink sleeve tubing but they bought another one. Cauterizing tools are designated as single-use and make great wood patterning tools. Discarded batteries with internal serial communicating protection and charge state monitoring find their way into DIY solar energy setups.

    I'd try to fix it; you really should start an ebay store to get rid of these "junks". ;)

    Why dental rvg are so costly?

    • @zaprodk
      @zaprodk 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because of the size of the silicon image sensor. It's like a full frame digital SLR camera. It takes up a huge chunk of the silicon wafer. Also Dental equipment comes with hefty prices because of service contracts.

    Is the cathode-ray tube in the black box?

    • @zaprodk
      @zaprodk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cathode-ray-tube? Wut? It's a CCD sensor with a scintillator puck glued to it's surface.
